[Clan Scholae Palatinae] Disruption on Mount Karbon! Ending

Moldate Hideout

Hearts were racing. Kadrol stood guard at the door, lightsaber in hand. Behind him, the unfamiliar Aylin Sajark, and his master Elincia Rei hastily searched the office holding Moldate transaction records. Aylin left no stone unturned in her physical search of the office while the staccato rhythm of Elincia’s fingertips on a terminal threatened to give them away. The distraction team had suffered from a lack of numbers to make an impact, leading to a tighter security than the gather team had expected.

“A datapad,” Aylin said in a hushed voice.

“It’s not much but it will do,” Elincia responded hastily, sending all the data she could find on chemical transactions across a secure network back to clan HQ in Caelestis City.

“Are you sure that’s enough evidence?” Kadrol questioned, surprised Elincia would be satisfied with such little data.

“No,” the Empress admitted. “But sometimes you have to make do with what you-” at that moment a security guard walked into the room on a routine patrol, which was immediately cut short by a slash of Kadrol’s lightsaber. “It won’t take them long to find that,” Elincia said, activating her own lightsaber in a flash of violet. “Let’s move.”

ISN Vader

Alarms blared out across the ISN Vader. “Intelligence reports a fugitive has gained access to the ship. All troops maintain a status of high alert. Challenge any suspicious activity immediately.”

Tensions had run high aboard the ISN Vader for quite some time. The Venator-Class Star Destroyer was the primary carrier ship of the Imperial Scholae Navy, but the threat from the Moldate had placed everyone on high alert. James Malum walked the corridors of the ship, two lightsabers ready to be drawn at a moment’s notice at the sign of anything out of the ordinary. Spies could be anywhere. Since the war against the Collective, the Scholae Empire had been forced to replace its lost personnel with citizens of Ragnath. A rigorous screening process on such a large scale will always see things fall through the cracks. The Clan’s most dedicated Dark Jedi had been placed on guard duty at high threat locations.

Adoniram Tower

Intelligence officials from the ISI were scrambling to glean as much information as they could from the data collected by Kadrol, Aylin and Elincia. Transaction records were the key to everything, by tracking down purchases of potentially unstable material, and their paths through the system, the information analysts of Scholae could predict the next moves of the Moldate.

Aylin’s datapad, once decrypted, yielded an unexpected wealth of unexpected information: fake identification documents. It allowed the clan to track anyone travelling around the system with a fake ID issued by the Moldate: invariably a spy, agent, or otherwise unscrupulous individual to be found and eliminated.

ISN Vader

The next alert James Malum received was directly in his earpiece rather than over the security tannoy system. It was the voice of Elincia Rei, but the usual calm, thoughtful academic voice of the scientist sounded rushed, anxious. “All members of Scholae Palatinae, evacuate by the nearest fighter immediately. This is not a drill. I repeat, all members of Scholae get the fwec out of there right now.”

James didn’t hesitate to follow the Empress’ orders. He understood exactly what was happening. The Empress had given a pre-warning to all clan members, so they could evacuate before the mass hysteria of the rank and file soldiers and pilots on board. In the ship hangar, he noticed other members of the clan jump into their own personal ships or the starfighters provided by the Imperial Navy.

The knight watched in horror on the screen from the rear camera. Fire erupted from the ship like a volcano. The shockwave of numerous explosions threatened to throw his starfighter off course. The devastation seemed like like it could light up the entire system like a second star.

The Vader was torn into pieces by bombs smuggled aboard by the Moldate. Scholae Palatinae would have its revenge…

And that's the end of the event!

We had a lot of fun making the event and we hope that you enjoy this ending fiction!

Now onto the placements!

Placements

Kadrol - 25 points - 1st Place!

James Malum - 18 points - 2nd Place!

Elincia Rei - 10 points - 3rd Place!

You can see all the placements here.

I'd like to mention that Eli had done only two competitions, but got first place in both, while James and Kadrol did quite a few competitions and did well in all of them. It's these two varying styles of competing that can make it or break it for the team, especially during GJWs and such.

Anyways, I hope you all have a good rest of your weekend.
