Hello Everyone! I am excited to announce our new Champion in the ACC. This also functions as a wrap-up on my term as Combat Master. Be sure to check out the call for applications as we are very excited for this new venture for the position!
The Singularity falls silent.
Coming in with 61 completed matches (WOW) across 7 rounds the Singularity is now ended. I have had an absolute blast running this thing, and the quality of the battles throughout was top-notch.
Firstly as a reminder, thanks to our most amazing Herald, all participants who completed a match have access to the Singularity Spotchka bottle accessory item!
Now obviously for the results everyone has been waiting for. With tied perfect scores in the match, the newest ACC Champion is Selika Roh di Plagia. Lucine Vasano put up a hell of a fight earning the ACC Gladius title. It was an explosive battle, and one for the history books. I couldn’t be more pleased and amazed at the incredible writing that went into this match. One of the best matches I have ever seen.
They will be given access to the Champion’s Gauntlet and Champion’s Bracer.
The final standing is as thus:
I highly urge everyone to read the final match. Congrats to the winners, and thank you all for the amazing participation in this tournament.
Many many years ago, the ACC was revamped into a new system, utilizing the enhanced and awesome new character sheet style that had been developed for the club. At that time I was one of the most active beta testers and feedback providers, while not directly involved in any of decision making, I was eager and excited for the next generation ACC, and wanted to do what I could to help make it the best it could be.
Years later serving as Combat Master I still serve that goal.
At this point, I have been serving as Combat Master for a little over three years, far longer than I had hoped. This has been a time of massive changes to the ACC format, and some great new activity to the platform. While the work is never done, I look forward to working with the next Combat Master and enjoying whatever additional insight they bring to the position.
I took this position with the instruction to “change and streamline”. The option was to make this radical great effort or close the ACC for good.
In that time we’ve seen some 158 completed matches judged and scored. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped keep the ACC alive in this time. I hope it continues to be used and loved by many more members as the years continue.
There have been massive changes. First was the removal of the ACC Qualification requirement to even participate. We had the release of two halves of the supplemental society, offering great rewards for participating as combatant and judge. Judging took one of the biggest overhauls, both in the rubric used (moving to the same standard rubric as all other fiction) and the judgment process itself. Now you the members can lay claim to a completed match and score it, rather than wait on a dedicated staff, who while working hard were bogged down with the intensity of what the judgement process had become.
And of course, there is the first Championship run since 2019.
I know not every change was popular. And I don’t know if every change will end up working in the long term, but everything was done out of a love for this platform.
Now it is another’s turn.
