Today is an auspicious day.

Some time ago, many of our brothers decided to change things. They left the comfortable, the obvious. They ventured off into unknown territory, unsure of how things could possibly turn out.

They said that we wouldn't last a year.

Today marks eleven.

To those of us who are new to the Brotherhood, or haven't read up on history, Today is Exodus Day, a holiday for the Dark Brotherhood. It is the anniversary of the Seven leading the Brotherhood away from the Hammer to make our own way.

Times have changed, and relations between the Hammer and us have healed with time, but we can not forget our past.

It is also on this day that we honor those among us with Seals Of Loyalty, awarding those among us who have displayed the tenacity to keep on working to improve this club that we love. We nominate those who give all that they can to the club, those who do it for the love of their Clan, their house, their order, their brethren. It is those people, those attitudes and those work ethics that keep the Brotherhood moving forward.

Each of the Dark Councilors and the heads of the clouses have nominated people for this award, but I hope that you all join me as I personally extend my thanks to each of them. Please accept this as a token of our gratitude, of our esteem. Thank you, for all that you do.

Another Exodus Day tradition is to honor one particularly awing individual with a special award. The Silver Sash is awarded but once a year. Weighing the actions and devotion of several members whole year is difficult.

Solari is one who I admire. His devotion to the work is inspiring. He never grandstands, he never even draws attention to the work he does, and there is plenty to point out. He has been nothing short of stellar as Headmaster, and I am extremely pleased that we have the good fortune to have him at the helm of our recruitment efforts going forward. But the work is not all we are looking at here. What is equally impressive is his demeanor, his humility, and his drive.

His humility elevates the work he does beyond mere tasks. For him, this is a passion. This is a labor of love. 'It's not about the pixels' has been a recurring theme on the Dark Council, and it is with Solari that it seems to be held most true.

Honestly, I feel that I could write for pages about the man. But this would be a disservice. It would seem to be counter to his goals, paying lip service to a man who cares naught for speeches and grandiose recognition. He would tell me that I would be better off spending my time on some other project. So instead, I offer earnest thanks and an acknowledgement that the brotherhood is indeed better for his involvement. That much, I feel, he would think as enough for him.
