A brief report, wherein Muz cajoles you to take part in the ongoing Feud, talks about his projects and bemoans how quickly the summer is flying by.
Unless you have been living under a rock and left no forwarding address, you should be aware that there is a feud with Scholae Palatinae going on. This may not mean much to you personally, but it means something to me.
I understand that not everyone is super competitive. I also understand that not everyone has a lot of time to do competition entries, or can't get their mind around the prompts. That said, allow me to make a case for why we should try.
First off, every little bit, every single entry, no matter how poorly done or weakly inspired, helps the effort. Your heart may not be in it, but the points it gets the Clan might make the difference in winning anyway. Not all wars are won wholly by the big hitters, and I know this first hand, having graded and scored entirely too many vendettas in my time.
Secondly, as much as I don't really like the connotation, the Night Hawks are becoming to be seen as the Sadow retirement home. I had aspirations for more than that, to be blunt, but we have to make do with what we have. And what we have is a bunch of extremely talented yet highly unmotivated individuals. We have all made an impact on the clan, the club at some level, but most of the time, we just are content to sit back and watch things play out.
We really should not. We have the skill and the capacity to win this vendetta on our own steam, if we actually put our skills to the test. Every one of us knows this. Go look at your competition awards if you doubt. And since we are capable, we have almost an obligation to perform.
why?
Because the new guys are watching us. The journeymen are plodding along through their knight trials, even experiencing this sort of vendetta for the first time. Our actions, or inactions as elders and legends of the clan will speak volumes to those newer members whether we want to or not.
And as I always promised you folks, I will always do what I ask you to do.
I am asking you all to take part in as many competitions as you can. I intend on doing every competition out there. It won't be easy for me, as I have a lot of things cooking right now, but I will find a way. So dust off the old skills, remember what we were, and get in the fray. Recall how fun it is to try, how great it is to win. Scream 'For Sadow' and smash faces.
Let's go kick some tail.
The Night Hawk's run-on "The heart of Coruscant" has stalled out. There's not really a nice way to spin this. Between people not being invested in the story, not having time, or whatever, we just haven't been pushing forward on it at all. Three members does not a run on make. I am extending the runon through the end of July, just to have the story wind down and come to an end.
As a corrollary, I would like to ask you all where this went wrong, so that we can work together to make things a bit more fun and engaging going forward. Shoot me either a private email, or feel free to send it to the group. Office door is open.
Speaking of projects, (while most of the DB ones are on hold due to the feud) There are still plenty of things going on with the restoration of the HMR materials. Once the feud settles down, if you are at all interested, let someone know and we will find a place for you to do some stuff. For not-truly-DB work, Ashia and I are going to DragonCon this fall. It is in Atlanta, Georgia on labor day weekend (a little over two months away). It is a huge nerdery convention, with your standard complement of comics, panels, film screenings, concerts, shopping, and celebrities. Ashia and I have been working on some Muz and Ashia gear, and it is coming along pretty well. I just got my lightsabers working, finished my belt and am working on my armor and helmet this weekend. It's a lot of work, but it is looking pretty cool so far. If anyone has a plan to go to the con this year, let me know, and we'll make sure we can catch up there and hang out for a little bit.
And it's the end of June already. I have entirely too many things competing for my time, and I am sure i am not the only one in that boat. That said, If I can find a way to be able to get in there and do competitions, even with all the demands on my time, I am sure everyone reading this can find the heart and the time to do at least one competition.
And that would be enough to make me smile. ;)
Otherwise, keep having fun out there, and let me know if I can help with anything.

A brief report, sure. But a solid one. Nice job!
Let's go win this thing, eh?
Very awesome report, Thank you, Muz. And it is true, we need everyone if we are to take it by storm. I know you all have some pretty amazing skills and I would love to see them I this feud.
Nice report, Muz!
