Greetings everyone,

I have spoken at length with members of the Dark Council and the Star Chamber and have decided to create a new Dark Council position to support our upcoming possessions system. Possessions has become a system that ties into nearly every other aspect and position within the Dark Brotherhood. It ties into our promotions and rank structure, it ties into our Herald Office (someone has to draw this stuff), it ties into our Societies, it ties into the ACC, and it ties into...well everything. Its management is a full time job and requires a skilled coordinator, data collector, and project manager.

The Voice, Evant Taelyan, has taken on a tremendous volume of possession work and has become the defacto project lead. Evant has pushed possessions further than any other member in the DJB's history and has taken our nascent and often contradictory guidance and turned it into a full fledged and nearly ready for prime time system.

As of today, Evant is now the first Dark Brotherhood Regent. The position of Regent will be solely tasked with the management, development, and upkeep of our possessions system. This is a full time job. Evant was the obvious choice and has my trust to finish one of the biggest projects we have ever worked on.

The position of Voice is now open due to Evant's position change. Mav and I will be accepting applications for the Voice position and intend on making a decision o/a 20 September (We reserve the right to select sooner). As I look to hand off the plot writing to our next Voice; applicants will go under a little bit of scrutiny during the hiring process.

In the next Voice, we are looking for someone that can not only continue to support our club's character sheet system and run regular fiction competitions and activities for members, but someone that can once again return the position to advancing the club from a plot perspective. The Voice is charged with administering the Brotherhood character system, including NPCs, overseeing fictional activities that award CIs, and providing opportunities for members to interact with and advance with the Brotherhood storyline. The Voice will also work with the GM and DGM to write the fictional plot for the club moving forward.

A good application will:

Provide input on the fictional direction of the club, taking into account the Grand Master's past fiction updates and recent Voice fiction topics, and provide some proposed fictional plot directions. While the GM and I have a plan going forward, we are open to new ideas here, and would like to hear potential applicants plot proposals.

Identify any weaknesses you see in fictional activities or storyline-related interactions in the club, and how you would address them.

Describe any improvements you would make to the CS system. We are not looking for someone to re-invent the wheel, but feel free to describe any improvements you would make within the bounds of the system. Keep in mind that any changes that would obviously require coding are not likely to be considered and could detract from your application. If you aren't sure if your changes would require coding, contact the DGM and/or SCL.

Detail any fiction/storyline related projects/events that you have administered/run that would provide context to why you would make a good choice for Voice. Voice staff experience, while a plus, is not a requirement.

Include a writing sample. Include context with the writing sample; competition prompt is sufficient for an entry to a past fiction competition. Quality of writing will not be a primary selection criteria.

Other thoughts:

Applications containing proposals for new fictional 'features' or options for members are encouraged, but again, any changes that would obviously require coding are not likely to be considered and could detract from your application if not first reviewed by the DGM & SCL. If features could utilize our existing structures on a preliminary basis, they would be more likely to be welcome than those that require coding out of the box.

The Voice is partially responsible for the ACC seeing as the ACC is fictional activity and thus your application may touch on the ACC or ways you might encourage & improve its use, but the ACC remains the primary domain of the Combat Master and proposals to overhaul or majorly change the ACC will be not be considered with applications.
