Herald Open for Applications

All,

A few days ago, our Herald, Rian informed me that he intended to step down at the end of the year. Rian will remain in place until his successor is appointed in early January. If you're interested and think you have what it takes, applications are open from now until December 22.

Some things I'm looking for, and to consider:

  • Requirements of the position on the wiki.
  • Strong leader of the team of artists on the Herald staff, managing the workload and keeping up with graphics requests.
  • Community leadership. I'd like the Herald and their staff to actively foster our community of artists, including active participation in #art-chat.
  • Talent as an artist. The Herald doesn't have to be the club's best artist, but you need to be able to contribute meaningfully and understand the work your staff is doing.
  • Ability to work as a member of the Dark Council, providing input into a range of projects, vendettas, and support for clan requests.
  • Note any relevant Brotherhood experience you have. There are no required ranks or experience, but you should have a strong familiarity with the club and understand what it means to be a leader here.
  • Discuss your views on the Herald office and what you think could be done better, or what's working today.
  • Discuss any plans or changes you have in mind beyond the functioning of the Herald office.
  • Share some examples of your art.

Send your applications to me and Atra!

Thanks for everything you've done for the club Rian. You have always been a great friend, hell of an artist with your amazing methods for weapons, and a real mentor to me when it came to doing my own.

Thanks for taking over from my very short venture Rian. It's a demanding position.

Well done Rian! Your art has made a lasting impact on our community!

Thank you Rian for being a great leader and an excellent teacher. I've learned a lot on making sabers on staff.

Have you seen Qormus?

Ri, you and I have known each other and worked side by side in the HRLD office for years. It's always been a pleasure working with and for you and seeing all the marvelous weapons you've created over the years. You are a class act and the best dang sabermaker we have. Thank you for all your hard work. Here's to you getting some well-deserved rest and then I can't see what you cook up next!

Fa la la la la! La la, la la!
