Introduction

Since this is my first real report, I figured I’d introduce myself a bit. And I apologize if this seems like deja vu to anyone, but I decided to copy/paste this from the email I had sent out previously.

Who the frak are you, and why are you talking to us?
My name is Reiden Karr, and I’m your new Battleteam Leader. I’ve been a member of the DJB and Scholae for almost 10 years now, since June 2008. I’ve come to view Scholae Palatinae (and the DJB) as a second home during my time here, and I’m grateful for all the friends I’ve made over the years. While I pretty much stayed to myself/CSP for most of my time here, ever since making the switch to Telegrama few years ago as the main communication platform, I’ve branched out into the main DB group and the Fiction Chat. There’s a great group of people in the club these days, and I’m glad to know them, even if it’s only a little bit.

Also, I’m pretty new to this whole leadership thing, so please bear with me while I get my head on straight XD

Brotherhood News

For DB-wide news, we’ve got a Voice Report you can check out, an update from our new GM Mav, a Herald Report, and two reports from the Combat Master. While all of these are important pieces of information, I enjoyed seeing the Voice and CM reports, personally. From Wally, we see that he had been running a series of comps called The Collective Chronicles. Comps like these, I feel, are really cool since they allowed members of the club to help contribute to stuff that can be used in filling out the lore within the club -- whether it be in the form of creating NPCs and then watching those be transformed into actual NPCs with their own CSes for the club, or information that will be put up on the wiki. And from Atra, we get the re-opening of the Scenario Hall in the ACC. The purpose of this hall is to provide a reason for an ACC match to take place, removing the burden from the two combatants. Basically, it’s similar to how fictions are written based on a prompt from the organizers. That’s pretty cool.

Other things of note include a few leadership changes on the Dark Council. Towards the end of February, Darth Pravus’ term as Grandmaster came to a close. His Deputy Grandmaster, Telaris “Mav” Cantor was nominated and appointed to fill the role as our new Grandmaster. This left an opening in DGM, which was filled by our Herald, Morgan B. Sorenn. And finally, filling in as the new Herald is Selika Roh, the former Consul of Clan Plagueis.

Clan & House News

There has been some leadership changes on the homefront here in the clan as well. Mako Henemory stepped down as Quaestor of House Imperium. Taking his place is Dek Ironius II, which left the Aedile position open for applications. Stepping up to fill that role now is Darth Aeternus, formerly known as Korras. This name is a blast from the past for me. I’ve been around for a while now, and Korras was the Master At Arms for a time. Additionally, he’s held positions ranging from Battleteam Leader all the way up to Consul, and even earned the rare title of Sith Lord. With these two at the helm of Imperium, I feel like we’ve got a strong, reliable team of leaders to guide us all as we move forward together.

Rebranding Imperium

Since Scholae moved away from its past and went in a new direction as the Imperial Clan, House Excidium has always had its own clear identity. As Dek mentioned in his recent Quaestor Report, House Imperium, on the other hand, has been more tied in to the Clan’s identity. This means we did not have as much individuality when it came to defining who we are as a House. This is something that Dek would like to change, and will be the starting point for an upcoming House event.

To that end, Dek has made a survey regarding the future of House Imperium, and would like your thoughts on things. Please take a moment of your time and fill out the survey that can be found here:

Dark Paladins

This is something that was going on in CSP back when I first joined the club, and it’s great to see the concept continue. Back then, I really wasn’t sure what kind of goals (realistic or otherwise) to set for myself. But I always thought it would be nice to accomplish two things, though, even if it felt unlikely at the time to ever get them: becoming a Dark Paladin and being named a Palpatine. However, as time moves on, sometimes things change. But not to worry, this is not a bad thing. The awarding of the title of Dark Paladin was previously done by the Clan Summit. After giving it some thought and discussion, our Consul Elincia has decided to change this. Moving forward, Dark Paladins will be awarded by the Palpatines to the member (non-Palpatine) that has the best non-leadership activity record for the quarter. Rank and position don’t come into play here; all you have to do is just be active. So, while I won’t be able to become a Dark Paladin after all, I’d say one for two isn’t so bad in this case.

As a Palpatine now, I’ve been in on the process this time around. There have been discussions and a member has been chosen. Keep your eyes peeled in the near future as a news post is put together regarding the decision!
