Thanks to the as usual lightning fast work rate of our Codemonkey Extraordinaire, we have had two new features added to our news page. First and foremost is the social media block above the Dossier Search bar. This is a link to all of our currently active and featured Social Media accounts, as well as our RSS feed. We're entering the golden age of the internet, and now our social media is front and centre!
Next up is the addition of the Social Sharing Options. First you will find these located in a dropdown under the comments link in the news box. Click it, share what you will, be glorious! Also you'll find three convenient share icons at the bottom of expanded news posts so that you can read everything you want before you post it to your feeds.
Lets all be sure to thank James extra loudly for his amazingly fast turnaround on this.
The Recruitment Office is looking for it's first member contribution to the news page. With the release of Star Wars: Tarkin we have a brand new book that our membership might be interested in getting a take on. If you're interest in reading the book and writing a review of it, over 1000 words, please let me know.
I don't exactly know how we're going to be doing these type of content requests in the future, but for now, just [Log in to view e-mail addresses] a sample of your work, or even a mock review of another book. If selected, your review will be getting featured on the main page of the site, and you'll earn the first shiny DSS that the Recruitment Office gives out!
You need to be logged in to post comments
That's a good James!
Hm. The DB being social? That sounds scary. :P
We've gone live! Five by five!
Is the Tarkin book a Cushing little number? :P
So much for the Sith lying in wait to eradicate the republic and jedi once again........
We also conveniently ignore that pesky rule of two :D
We're Dark Jedi, not actual Sith :P
Technically, Mav is a Sith :P
That pesky rule of two was considered back in 1999 and ignored because it was stupid. Also, what Shad said. :P
What would the expected turnaround on content reviews be? Since none of us probably have early access to new work; are we expected to bang through it in a few days if picked?
Love the reviews idea. Shinies!
I laugh every time at the Rule of Two. It's like the person who created that idea forgot that we're talking about a galaxy that spans trillions of trillions of trillions of beings, not just a globe of a few billion, where even then that idea would be stupid.
You may be a dark jedi, but I am Sith.
How about the codemonkey update the mobile pages to work better. Compared to the main site, mobile doesn't show recent promotions, clan news, staff, or even the countdowns on the sides.
Also, that shadow academy drop down link for each hall only shows the first 7 and cuts off the rest
Now, now. Let's not use names.
James is amazing.
Love the updates and love Jam3z hard work

The mobile version of the site shows the important stuff, mainly news posts, if it had to show the other stuff it would be terribly cramped.
Aabs, regarding reviews? I want quality articles, a fast turn-around time is great, but quality is more important than speed.
But being some of us mainly rely on mobile, it hinders us from competing properly. And stuff that are on the sides that I mentioned can be relocated top or bottom of page. Shadow academy does need fixing and discourse is unusable by mobile
All of the stuff on the side of the sites are superfluous. The club is online and PC-based, and the site itself works well enough for mobile. Anything you really and truly need to access is there. I have no seen any issues accessing various parts of the site, and if you are truly having issues than it may be more a question about the phone you are using than the website itself. Like most other mobile sites, you can only do so much on the phone. This site has been made to work better with mobile, but it will never replace the PC experience.
More to the point all of you.. if you have specific feature requests for the site, email James. The man is insanely busy: I think I had to push about 500 things down on his To Do list to get this done, and might not catch comments (though I wouldn't be surprised if he did).
Ok I have gotten the book on Tarkin and sent yacks a rough report on it
