The Brotherhood Gaming League’s first season is underway! We had 21 sign-ups and those participants have been broken down into four groups. You can find those groups and the standings here.

To come to those groups, we used [random.org]. We ran the names through multiple times and came out with this result.

The number of people who signed up wasn’t enough to make 8 groups, but seemed too many to only have 8 people make the knockout stage. As such, we are amending the amount of people who qualify for the knockout stage. The individual who finishes 1st place in each group will have a first round bye in the knockout stage. 2nd place in each group will play 3rd place in a different group. We will randomize both where each group winner is seeded in the knockout bracket, but also what 2nd and 3rd place teams will be facing each other. We will do this also using [random.org].

Participants will play each other member of their group twice. Each match will be the best of five games. Each game will be the best of five fights. Exactly the same way the GJW operated. You have from now until January 28th to finish your group stage matches. All matches are to be reported to [Log in to view e-mail addresses] and [Log in to view e-mail addresses]. To sum up: 4 groups, play everyone twice; top 3 finishers in each group qualify for the knockout phase; first place gets a first round bye.
