The Great Hutt Expansion Set - Corrections

I want to thank all the members who have explored DB:CCG since the release of The Great Hutt Expansion. Especially Kah’ri Marru and Lord Idris Adenn who played rather slow matches with me allowing me to identify several coding bugs.

The following corrections/updates has been made.

  • Brie Cunnjemi - fixed image that referenced Luke and Han versus Kamjin and Thran and added leader keyword.
  • Ixtal - added leader keyword.
  • There is Another Lap'lamiz - fixed image that did not include the correct icon in the text.
  • Corrected Komilia Lap'lamiz, Emperor's Guard to have the CSP Royal Guard keyword.
  • Added Gangster keyword to Gex Degrix.
  • Added Clan Tiure keyword to Sqygorn, Vox, and Selynn Valtora.
  • Brightened He's Crazy so the image can actually be seen

Booster Packs!

One of the most memorable activities related to a card game is purchasing booster packs. The wonder of the crinkling sound of the foil. The thrill of ripping the packaging open to discover what cards are contained within. With the help of Geek Earth, who created a template for making booster pack images, I've implemented the code in the Merchant store of DB:CCG to buy booster packs for our card sets!

Once purchased these can be found under 'My cards' in the Deck Builder.

Now, you may ask...why should I buy booster packs? All cards are available for free within the Deck Builder. As an incentive I've coded the booster packs to grant foil version of cards. Normally you would have to buy an individual card four times and trade them in for a foil.

From a game mechanic standpoint this sets up the ability to do 'sealed deck' leagues and tournaments in the future where you have to build a deck with the cards randomly assigned from a given collection of sets. That's still a long way into the future. So, in the interim, it's a neat way to recreate those childhood feelings, some new artwork showing off members of the Brotherhood, and a chance for foil cards.

I Want A Card!

By now, hopefully, you're well invested in the desire to play this wholly unique gaming experience that puts YOU in the middle of the action. You don't have to wait for the next set to come around to your specific Clan.

You can request a card to be created of yourself or your alternative character!!

Within the Admin section of the Brotherhood site navigate to Profile and Custom Graphics -> Request Custom Graphics -> Create Graphics Request -> CCG Cards

From here you can provide your suggested Card Title, Lore (e.g., the information at the top of the card), your preferred image, which side (Dark or Light) and general comments.

These cards will then be designed for inclusion in the next set of DB:CCG. Bringing YOU into the action!

What's Next?

With this update the first three cards of A Better Tomorrow, the set name selected for the COU expansion, are now live.

The first two correct some challenges with the Hostile Takeover objective deck (and have already been updated in the publicly available sample decks). The third was custom requested card for Edgar Drachen. I hope you all take the time to explore these new cards and their impact on building decks within DB:CCG.

Cards will continue to be created utilizing the following rules DB:CCG Creation Rules. Feel free to review if you're interested in the 'science' behind creating the DB:CCG.

Until next time, Shuffle up and Deal!

That's one snazzy card lol

How do we know what to put at the top, or as powers, etc? I wouldn't mind one of me, that would be cool, but I would like one for "Discussions" As some kind of moral booster when you dine there or whatever.

Benn, the Star Wars CCG Player's Committee have several videos on their YouTube channel regarding how to play on Gemp. The most popular ones are How to Play on Gemp - 2021 Edition and How to Play Star Wars CCG (Part 1).

Personally I find that playing the game with someone is far easier to learn the mechanics of the application (Gemp). Now, as for the game mechanics (e.g., Game Text and how that influences and builds upon decks) that's where the fun of customization comes into play and, honestly, where I am not the best. I love the game but I'm not a master.

I'm not certain what you mean by 'discussions'. You can follow the link within the report to request a card. The main things within the card are images and suggested lore (otherwise I'll pull from your Wiki page or other sources). The other elements on the card I've outlined within the rules document that I follow as closely as possible (exception for needs of the game/set naturally).
