I've been teasing this set for what seems like a year and now, finally, The Great Hutt Expansion Set has been released and the Dark Brotherhood: Customizable Card Game (DB:CCG) has been officially relaunched!
This adds 154 new cards to the game, which can be viewed via our Scomp Link file. This more than doubles the number of cards previously created for DB:CCG.
This is also the first set that directly ties into a Clan's story arc. The Great Hutt Expansion is based upon Clan Scholae Palatinae's multi-part clan event battling the forces of Clan Tiure and their attempt to infiltrate the Caperion System and stake a claim on it's moon Ulress.
There will be many familiar faces from Scholae Palatinae who now have cards created for themselves based upon their engagement during The Great Hutt Expansion story arc.
You'll have the choice to play as the heroes of Scholae Palatinae as Thran Occasus attempts to usurp Emperor Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz or to join Clan Tiure's attempt to conquer Ulress and bring gang violence to its neon clad streets.
As I continue to learn more about the GEMP platform, I obtained access to create sample decks that auto-populate for all users.
This means no more sharing of .txt files and walking new users through how to upload and save decks. Now, users can look for any entry that starts with DB:CCG and you'll have a pre-built deck available to utilize.
These decks are named after the objective they utilized. For the Great Hutt Expansion these are Hostile Takeover (Dark) and Organized Crime (Light).
These sample decks have been built around similar, competitive decks, designed for SW:CCG. While certain cards have been selected to assist in the objective there are plenty of character cards that can be swapped out so you can be a part of the action!
This release of DB:CCG also includes all the enhancements that the SW:CCG Players Committee have implemented for the official SW:CCG GEMP. While this includes Set 24 cards the biggest impact for all players is the introduction of auto-zoom.
By simply hovering over a card with your mouse it automatically brings up an enlarged version of the card. By clicking with your right mouse button you'll be able to set a slider to zoom in/out to your desired size. This makes reading the text in both the newly designed DB:CCG cards and the original SW:CCG cards infinitely easier.
Continuing the tradition of each set bring new card types to the DB:CCG we have our first Epic Event card. These cards are like mini-objectives that allow you to complete a specific event(s) and gain a desired outcome.
In this case, Kamjin's Ambition allows you to pit Kamjin against either his children or his fellow Councilors (Light) in duels. The result of the duel resulting in either the Dark side player gaining these Light side characters and/or causing the Light side player to lose Force.
Continuing the tradition set with the initial release of DB:CCG I've continued to add Alternative Image cards.
These cards will be awarded for placement in DB:CCG competitions. I do so love the original image of Pete From Sales being an option. If you're not familiar with Pete From Sales I highly recommend you reach out to a member of Scholae Palatinae and inquire about this clan specific lore item.
Gotta catch collect'em all!!!
By now, hopefully, you're well invested in the desire to play this wholly unique gaming experience that puts YOU in the middle of the action. You don't have to wait for the next set to come around to your specific Clan.
You can request a card to be created of yourself or your alternative character!!
Within the Admin section of the Brotherhood site navigate to Profile and Custom Graphics -> Request Custom Graphics -> Create Graphics Request -> CCG Cards
From here you can provide your suggested Card Title, Lore (e.g., the information at the top of the card), your preferred image, which side (Dark or Light) and general comments.
These cards will then be designed for inclusion in the next set of DB:CCG. Bringing YOU into the action!
With The Great Hutt Expansion being a Dark side (Scholae Palatinae) lore focused set and the first two sets - DB:Core and Shadow Academy - were more focused around me learning how I could code in GEMP and create new and unique experiences (e.g., Sith Tests) this really gives us a clear direction on the next set...
That's right, Clan Odan-Urr, our very own Light side focused Clan will be the focus of the next set. Alethia Archenksova shared with me their plans in 2023 for a Odan-Urr focused set. I've dusted this off and begun exploring the feasibility of the initial card designs and have reached out to High Councillor Masahiro Haku to obtain the latest information on Odan-Urr's plots.
Cards will continue to be created utilizing the following rules DB:CCG Creation Rules. Feel free to review if you're interested in the 'science' behind creating the DB:CCG.
Until next time, Shuffle up and Deal!

Great work, Kam! I will definitely be checking this out. Pre-built decks are awesome for us n00bs! You put a ton of work into this, be proud of it!
One day I'll need to find out how all of this works. Impressive amount of work you've put into this.
This is awesome.
Oh thank the maker for that zoom in function! Love seeing this scaled up to the size that it is now. I will most definitely be putting in a request for one of my alts ;)
