June Gaming News and Updates

So this is my 6th and latest P:Fist report and I feel that i’m only getting started within the Office of the Fist. As I’m sure you are well aware that things have been very busy within the gaming community and we have had some good changes along with changes for unfortunate reasons as well.

In any case we are preparing for the upcoming Great Jedi War, where things will get much busier. But enough on that, it’s time to hit up some gaming news. There is a bit of it this month due to a “small” gaming event called E3. In which, many of the new and upcoming games, gaming systems and all round gaming insanity being discussed and presented.

I’ll try to highlight some DJB game specifics in my report but for a more complete list of what happened at E3 check out IGN’s E3 coverage here.

News for DJB Games - E3 releases

• Battlefront 2 - Release date November 17, 2017 and since we are obviously a Star Wars club this is our most watched game and one we all hope is better than the first outing for sure. I hate to even remotely sound optimistic but so far what is being presented definitely looks better than the first Battlefront game. With NO SEASON PASS the game will have only free content dlc’s, which i really hope is a game changer for the industry. Then the Multiplayer Trailer looked great. In fact there is a few trailers and news drop that you should defintely check this page out for all the latest releases.

• Diablo 3 - Rise of the Necromancer will be released on June 27 and has a price tag of $15.00. “Rise of the Necromancer includes a Golem in-game pet, Cosmetic Wings of the Crypt Guardian, 2 more character slots, 2 stash tabs for PC gamers, and a Necromancer portrait, banner, sigil, and accent, and Blood Master pennant." Also PS4 and XB1 can get a “Diablo III Eternal Collection, which includes the base game, Reaper of Souls expansion and Rise of the Necromancer.” The price will be set for $40.00 for a limited time and for PS + and XB Gold members. Others will have to play a reg price of $60.00.

Also don’t forget about Challenge rifts a new exciting way to take on the rifts.

• Heroes of the Storm has a new hero Malthael, plus the developers have released some Core Concept articles to help new players and players that have been playing a while to get the most out of every match. They are actually pretty good so take a look at the Team Leveling Part 1 and Team Leveling Part 2

• Overwatch - Are you a Twitch prime member? If so you can get yourself a free golden loot box plus along with Twitch and Blizzards new partnership you can get loot in other games as well. Also Don’t forget to download the new Patch 1.12 which went live today June 20th. Reading the Patch Notes you will see the inclusion of a new map Lunar Colony.

Gaming Deals - A place where if I find a good sale I’ll pass it along.

• IGN has a nice Deals page which lists some of the web’s biggest gaming deals.

• Also Reddit has a gaming sales page.

• Good Old Games is a good site to find older games for a good price. Every now and then the Old Star Wars games do go on sale so keep an eye out.

• Steam as always has something on SALE, including the old SW games as well. BTW if you're not already in the DJB Steam group let us know. The summer sale is coming I’m sure of it.

Gaming Comps

• GMRG Gorefest 2017 - All your Gorefest needs in one handy container! Double Clusters for all GMRG members. If your not a member take the GMRG History SA COURSE, now! June’s is done but July’s is right around the corner, so go get your double clusters!
  

A quick note: With the GJW occurring in August, there will be NO August Gorefest weekend.

• FIST: Quarterly Gaming Challenge Q2 2017 - when you don’t have anywhere to place your PvP, PvE or PvO Clusters of Earth/Fire place them in these monthly cluster races!

• FIST - 2nd Annual Mobile Gaming - Another year of Mobile games and Bonus CE’s!

• FIST - 1st Annual Flash Gaming - Now Monthly Flash Games and earn bonus CE’s as well!

• FIST - Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes - The Fist will alternate between Squad Arena and Fleet Arena to give you more than one way to play! So make sure you double check the comp details in this new container comp.
