Might I interest you in a Star Wars Battlefront Beta?
As we have asked before... are you interested in getting your dirty paws on Star Wars Battlefront a bit ahead of the November 17th release date? Well, I'll be the first to admit, that first Alpha period was kind of a huge bust for folks, though rumours persist of a Brotherhood member who has had a sneak peek at the glory.
Regardless of how poorly the Alpha test treated us.. we can still hold onto hope that this time around, things will be different. We have no concrete details on what form the Beta will take, but I am willing to bet it'll be similar to the EA Beta Test of Titanfall for PC, which means that they'll basically let everyone in for a small period of time, and they'll ask the masses to hammer them with everything we've got, then disappear for awhile to lick their wounds and parse the data.
What we do know though, is that this Beta test has been scheduled for early October, and will be on PC, and the lesser platforms as well. It will also feature the 40 Man Walker Assault on Hoth, as well as a new, as yet unannounced mode: Drop Zone.
As if that wasn't enough, there's also talk in the official announcement of a strategic card companion game called "Base Command" which will be available on iOS and Android devices. Personally I have absolutely no idea what that companion app has in store for us, but Gryffles has assured me it likely won't be any sort of a replacement for the Fantasy Flight LCG. Sadly.

Woah what was that jab at the AMAZING Fantasy Flight Card Game? I'll have you know it is amazing. Also I was even awesome enough to win two tournaments at the awesome game that is awesome. So there!
We should be getting an idea of the PC system requirements for the game with the Beta. So all welcome news!
Less a jab, and more a remonstrance that it doesn't have a full digital version like Hearthstone out for easier play Callus.
There is a digital version, it's just not official. It's just mostly tolerated by FFG.

But it's true, consoles are lesser platforms. :P
I'm going to be laughing pretty hard if more DB folks decide they want to play this on a console than PC. Just saying.

Oh, I think the numbers are going to be pretty close between console and PC. I have no idea where it will end up right now. Although I think opportunity exists for us regardless of the platform members choose.

I guess I should've let more people know that I got invited to the alpha? To be honest I didn't think it was big of a deal so I didn't let anyone know lol. All it was was Hoth over, and over, and over, and over. I played it for about 3 hours than stopped.
