Star Wars Attack Squadrons has opened up their Beta test through March 18th! This will be a Free to Play Space Flight Sim game, with options to upgrade your ship based on currency earned by playing the game (I'm assuming micro-transactions will be involved with the game at some point also)
Head over to the Star Wars Attack Squadrons Website to sign up and try the game out while you still can!

So, has anyone tried it out, and was it any good?
Also, I don't know what the NDA is like for the open beta... so maybe read that before posting? :P
Haven't tried it, myself, but its been revealed to be browser-based.
Also, please note that the FAQ clearly states that people outside the UK and North America cannot participate in the closed beta.
I have tried it. Firstly, it's laggy as and cold molasses. From my first time playing it, I found it to be exactly like every other flying shooter. I thought you would be able to choose your own colours for your ship and such, however, it looks as though your ship only changes colour when you buy a brand new ship with new colours and designs. It reminds me of Rogue Squadron for N64 and once again on Gamecube. I LOVED those games...but, they belonged on consoles. As for a computer game, I don't really find it that exciting, but if it was on a console, it would be pretty good. Again, this is only my personal opinion.
I agree with Krandon 8 years and a console ago it would have been pretty good. for a browser type game with a minimal download it's ok. I didn't find it that entertaining but hey i'm just one man. I'd say go give it a whirl if you really want to know.
It is okay, not really addicting though to keep me motivated to continue playing for awhile. It is realistic in terms of a flying game. I think it would be better when a fly-stick controller could be used.
