Greetings Qel-Dromans, fellow Arconans and various onlookers from other Units. Welcome to the February edition of the House Qel-Droma Report. We’ve got a bit for you to glance through and sink your teeth into.
With that said, let’s get this show on the road!
Quaestor’s Office Phantom Complex, Port Ol’val
“-nice work on that last job,” Celevon said as he rolled a cigarette, finishing up the debrief on the latest actions of their newest team. Zakath Agrona sat stiffly across from the Onderonian, warily focused on the Assassin’s hands. Occasionally, the Barabel’s eyes darted over towards the preteen on the couch with some kind of pad of paper in her lap, pencil moving swiftly across the page.
Her dark auburn hair occasionally fell into laurel green eyes before it was absently pushed away, the rest of her long locks locked in place in a ponytail.
“Izz there any reazon why ze Commander waz not here for thiz meeting?”
“Yes. Myrji informed me that he had some business to take care of and that you were fully capable of handling this debrief, as the operation was carried out under your orders,” the Quaestor replied as he slipped the tightly rolled cylinder between his lips and lit it. “Terran or myself will, of course, join you on your next operation to ensure that everything is running smoothly and you have everything you require. Whether purely there to observe or should you wish one of us to lend a hand, I will leave to yours and your Commander’s discretion.”
Zakath nodded and moved to rise, only for the girl on the couch to speak up suddenly.
“Don’t move! I’m halfway through a sketch of you,” the preteen exclaimed, pale green eyes narrowed in a slight glare as she looked up. “May I please finish? It won’t take too long.”
The Barabel turned his head slightly to look at the Assassin, only to meet amused silver eyes as the Human flicked a bit of ash off the end of his cigarette. Withholding a sigh, Zakath sat down.
“Thank you!” The girl beamed before she continued the sketch, pencil moving rapidly as her right hand was used to blend and smudge the image.
“Can I interest you in coffee or tea?” the Onderonian questioned softly to not distract the girl.
“Coffee. I only drink teaz when ze Shadow Lady servz it. Who iz ze little girl?”
“My daughter, Artemis,” Celevon replied as he moved to pour a steaming mug of the black liquid.
“I was not aware zat you were a father,” Zakath frowned before he sipped the coffee. It was a strong, dark blend. Despite his wariness of the Human, the Barabel had to admit that he had good tastes.
“To be fair, she’s usually busy with school or her extracurricular activities. It’s a rare thing when she actually is here in the complex,” the Assassin replied, pouring himself a mug and taking a long swig.
“What activitiz?” the XO questioned in a curious manner, glancing over at the aforementioned preteen.
“She attends martial arts lessons and has taken to practicing archery after conversations with my Fade, Thorfinn.”
“Do you have any other children?” As soon as he finished, the Barabel wished he would have not asked.
The Onderonian’s eyes darkened as he took a drag off of his cigarette. It was a long, uncomfortable silence until the Human chose to reply.
“I had a son. Had he lived, he would be three now.” Celevon stubbed out his cigarette before laying his hands down on the table, eyes focused on them. “Rhys perished in his sleep barely a month after his birth.”
The rest of the time whilst Artemis finished her sketch was spent in an awkward, tense atmosphere as they quietly finished their drinks.

Just a few quick words here on Recruitment, guys and gals. Right now, the DB is seeing an uptick in membership from the new movie and from Battlefront. Not as much as we did with the Prequels, years ago, but a definite increase overall. That’s a good thing - a great thing, even - however the fact is that most of the members who join randomly don’t stay. We’ll do what we always do - try and introduce them to the culture in the DB and Arcona, as well as show them all the awesome competitions and other opportunities we provide for our members. But, at the end of the day, the vast majority of them are going to Rogue and there isn’t much that can be done to stop that. What we can do, however, is recruit. Every person reading this right now is an undeniable geek, which means you likely have at least a few friends as geeky as you are. So pause from reading, pick up your phone or pull up the messenger client of your choice, and invite them to become a member. We’ll do our best to make them feel at home.
Also, recruiting them and having them provide your character name can earn you a Scroll of Indoctrination when they hit the first Journeyman rank. Recruits in the same Clan also get first dibs to mentor said member - something that counts in place of leadership in higher Equite ranks.
As promised, below you will find the table used to determine the scoring of this leaderboard:
And, despite Strategos being in the lead, I doubt he’ll ever bother to make a Character Sheet... The character that will feature is Myrji, the BTL of Styx!

Excellent work this month, lads, as always. You should keep your eyes peeled in the near future for more things to sink your teeth into. In particular, the word on the street is that the Grand Master will be releasing a rather important report in the next few days - one that everyone should read when it is released. Beyond that, keep being awesome. We’ll see you again next month!
