Brethren, My first weeks as Justicar have been both productive and lively. I am now fully adJSTed to my position. Through this report, I will give you an update as to some of what we are working on within the Chamber of Justice.

1. Trials: Several matters were not completed before the CoJ prior to Taigikori’s resignation from this position. Upon being appointed, I set out with the Hands to complete the investigations into a number of matters and bring charges where appropriate. We have worked through over a dozen investigations, and have brought charges against eight members. Those cases will start to resolve in the coming days. Because many of the charges were brought against different people out of the same series of events, we are waiting to announce some verdicts until all pleas have been entered. You will see posts about those case outcomes in the coming days.

2. The Hands: I cannot mention the cases that are underway without making mention of Halcyon and Montresor. As you should be aware from my prior announcement, Montresor has been appointed to the position of Left Hand of Justice in place of Aabsdu. Halc has been around for a while and has been helping both Monty and me get up to speed. Suffice it to say, I have an excellent team. Both have handled the immediacy of the cases quite well, and I am overly pleased with the counseling that Monty has provided to the defendants after a quick learning curve. This is a strong Chamber.

3. Amendments: As I stated in my initial report, there are many items in the Dark Covenant that need revision. I have received a half a dozen proposals since being appointed and I am in the process of organizing and making initial evaluations. I will be forming a series of teams to review different areas of the Covenant. This process will being to hit full steam in a few weeks, as the pending cases begin to resolve. For now, we are using the pending cases to find areas of the trial process that need refining. There is much to do.

4. SA Courses: I have taken over grading responsibilities from Yacko for the CoJ courses in the Shadow Academy. Yacks deserves a lot of thanks for handing the grading for so long (and for making me an excellent answer key). The Hands and I are going to thoroughly review the SA courses to update and revise them. This is a longer-term project that you will hear more from us on at a later date.

5. DC Policies and Projects: Since being appointed, I have been working hand-in-hand with multiple Dark Council members to review and revise policies, and work through some projects. In due time, we will be taking a look at a lot of ways the CoJ interacts with the various counsel offices, and will be helping to lead the effort to modernize and organize policies and procedures. Each of the DC members has been exceptionally welcoming, and I am glad to be working with them. Hat tips to James for helping on some crucial coding issues, Aabs for assisting with some cloning issues, and Val for being on top of some gaming issues.

6. Other projects: as a member of the Dark Council, I will be working on various projects that are set before my by the GM. Right now, I am assisting with the possessions teams, working as I have been to help manage certain aspects of the project. There are exciting developments there, and I hope everyone is looking forward to its completion as much as I am.
