Hello, everyone. I’m Yuki Suoh, more colloquially known as Jack. I’ve been kicking around this club for about two decades, I’ve served as the Quaestor of House Satal Keto in Plagueis (before they changed its name to something else now), Aedile of Galeres, Battleteam Leader of quite a few teams, Rollmaster of many Houses, spent time in the Envoy Society (now defunct) and served as the second Aedile of House Odan-Urr. I’ve been around the block a couple of times and I am here to help each of you whenever you need it.
I like to think that I maintain an open door policy at all times. If you need something, feel free to email me or hit me of Telegram (@Jackifer). The only times I won’t answer are if I’m swamped with work or sleeping, so if I don’t respond quickly, just give me a bit and I’ll get back to you. Now onto the rest of this report!

Aedile’s Corner:
You people ask the weirdest questions. But, I’ll answer a few of them.
Alethia asks: Tell me a bedtime story.
THIS IS NOT A QUESTION!
Len asks: How is it being Aedile?
So far it isn’t that bad. I mean, Edgar smells funny and there’s still the weird old person smell from Esca in the building, but I am armed with Febreeze and a vacuum. In all seriousness, I look forward to working with Edgar and Darro to continue the steamroller that is Hoth. We have several projects in the works for the wiki which all seem to be coming together nicely.
Esca asks: How is Zoya going to react to Yuki's presence as Hoth leadership?
I have no words for this. Yuki will probably spend a lot of time futilely glaring up at her for being used as an armrest. Other than that, I’m not entirely sure.
Tasha’Vel asks: What are some things you would do to help new members in developing their characters? There are several things one should do when they want to start making a new character. It is easy to make a name, give a history and assign points on a character sheet. But, you have to ask “Who are you?” And this is not “Oh, well, I’m Yuki Suoh.”
This is a question of more than just a name. What makes your character who he/she/it is. What drives them, what makes them sad/happy/angry/etc. When you ask someone who they are, you need more than a name to understand them. You need to know what breathes life into them, what drives them. For instance, a peek into my mindset on new characters.
Jack: stares at blank screen Who are you?
Blank screen: Well, I’m a warrior. Someone who has spent time in isolation in a constant struggle to survive. Someone who has spent time alone and bears the scars of that when I talk to other people.
Jack: I see. Anything else you need me to know?
Partially filled screen: Well, I feel like my family abandoned me. The people I trusted most left me for dead, so I guess trusting people will be pretty hard to do. There’s also the fact that I was captured and subjected to torture, so I bear physical, emotional and mental scars from that. I won’t let anyone put me in a cage or try to control me.
Jack: Oh. So, why are you in a Light side Clan then? You seem pretty dark and vicious.
Partially filled screen: Well, they represent everything that I was raised to hate. But, when what you were raised by fails you, you look at the other side of the coin and find out if it fits any better.
Jack: Well, that’s a bit cynical don’t you think? I mean, just because your world view is broken doesn’t invalidate it, does it?
Filling screen: No, it doesn’t. But, it shows that the way of doing things you grew up with is broken and needs something to help it. So, if being raised in the Darkness isn’t everything you need, perhaps adding some Light to the situation will help.
Jack: I see, so you are telling me that you live in a state of twilight. Neither Light nor Dark? I suppose that is a pretty valid way of looking at things. Anything else?
conversation continues until character is finished
Note: The conversation never really ends. Every day your character will have more to tell you if you just listen. They will always tell you more about themselves because if you do it like that, they become an organic thing. They grow, they feel, they live. Even if only as words on a screen.
Chris Winchester asks: Y U No Love Me?
Because you can’t spell.
Azha Mos asks: Do you have any tips on becoming a better self proofreader?
Don’t do it. Always, always, ALWAYS have someone else look over your writing. What you wrote might make sense to you, but it won’t make sense to the reader. The reason for proofing is not just to remove errors in spelling and grammar. It is to make your writing more fluid. If a proofreader looks at something and scratches their head, you know that you have to go over it again and try to make it more sensible. Even professional writers have editors for a reason.
Wherein I am empowered to give a “state of the union” for Hoth.

In closing, I look forward to working with all of you to make this place better and better as the days comes. Work hard, play hard and wreck face.
