Deep Space

Undisclosed Location

The patrols pressed onward, TIE Defenders and TIE Advanced weaved through the darkness in precise formations. Aboard the ISD Perdition, the atmosphere on the bridge was tense. The communications console had been inundated with broken transmissions...faint, garbled signals that eluded clear interpretation.

Moff Araic Simonetti stood near the central viewport, his sharp features etched with focus. The sporadic transmissions hinted at something beyond the ordinary anomalies of deep space. "We can’t let this linger," he said firmly, turning to Captain Merak. "Take us deeper. We’ll track down the source of this signal."

Merak acknowledged with a curt nod, and Simonetti moved to the comms station. His voice carried an edge of urgency as he hailed the VSD Light of Orian. "Warlord Hades, this is Simonetti, I’m moving the Perdition to investigate a potential source back in Clan space. Effective immediately, you have command of the task force. Hold the formation and maintain the patrols."

There was a brief pause before Hades’s voice crackled through the channel, steady yet laced with surprise. "Acknowledged, Sir. The task force is mine."

Hades sharp mind processed the implications quickly. Command of the task force wasn’t just a shift in responsibility, it was a declaration of trust and capability. As the bridge crew of the Light of Orian relayed the announcement, officers on all ships reported in to confirm, “Warlord Hades has Task Force Command. The Perdition is out of the Area of Responsibility.”

The fleet adjusted seamlessly to the shift in command. Hades wasted no time, his tactical mind already at work. "Have all patrol squadrons tighten their perimeters. Redirect the Insurgent and Wrath to bolster the defensive screen on the starboard flank. Ensure the Bloodline and Hyperion maintain their escort positions near the Harrower."

The comms officer relayed the orders swiftly. As the fleet maneuvered, a pair of TIE Advanced on routine patrol darted past the Harrower. The lead pilot’s voice crackled over the comm. "Command, this is Alpha Three. We’ve got partial lighting in the Harrower’s hangar bays. Emergency systems appear operational."

"Copy that, Alpha Three. Maintain your sweep and report any further anomalies," the Comm Officer replied.

Meanwhile, in Delta Quadrant, a flight of TIE Defenders from Regulator Squadron encountered unexpected resistance. A group of R-41A Starchasers emerged from hyperspace, clearly aiming to prey on nearby trade routes. Lt. Commander Mira Tanis, flying Regulator One led the TIE Defenders into an immediate intercept course. Mira swiftly changed channels and hailed the Light of Orian.

"Comm, this is Regulator One. We've got unidentified R-41s coming out of hyperspace and heading straight for the Defenders. Regulators are moving in to intercept."

"Regulator One, this is Comm. Copy that, we have you on sensors. You are clear to engage. I repeat, you are clear to engage."

"Regulators, break formation and engage!" Tanis commanded.

The ensuing dogfight was a chaotic ballet of maneuvers and laser fire. The TIE Defenders outmatched the Starchasers in speed and firepower, but the pirates were cunning, darting through debris fields and trading sharp volleys. Tanis’s wingmate, Quo-Wing-Tzun, scored the first kill of the engagement. A Starchaser banked right into his line of fire fleeing from one of the other Defenders, his cannons punching through the Starchaser’s hull in a fiery explosion.

Warlord Pel Tarentae tightened his grip on the controls of his TIE Defender, the fighter’s triple-winged frame slicing through the void like a dagger. With a quick flick of the yoke, he initiated a barrel roll attack. The Defender arced upward, rolling as it climbed, its ion engines howling as Pel pushed the throttles forward stopping at its max detent . The R-41's pilot likely thought the Defender pilot had miscalculated, thought he’d lost his target. The Tarentae wasn’t losing control. He was repositioning.

As his roll completed, the Defender dove back down, its nose tracing a deadly, precise loop. The Starchaser reappeared dead-center in his targeting reticle before its pilot could react.

Pel squeezed the trigger. A barrage of laser fire ripped through the R-41’s fuselage, its shields failing in an instant. The ship shuddered under the impact, then detonated in a brilliant explosion.

"Nice flying Pel! Don't let up, stay on them!" Tanis barked. She rolled her Defender through a tight turn, unleashing a precise burst that crippled another pirate craft. The remaining Starchasers, realizing they were outclassed, broke formation and fled into hyperspace.

"Command, this is Alpha One. Enemy craft neutralized or in retreat. Delta Quadrant is secure," Tanis reported.

Around the Clan

Sadowans,

Me knowing how late I am getting this report out!

As you can see with the current fleet action, with the Harrower in our grasp we will soon get her operational and bring her to her new home. The Harrower RP is also nearing an epic conclusion! It has been a lot of fun and it has not lacked any exciting developments! Once it is finalized, we will more than likely reveal and highlight all the cool stuff the PCon has thrown at us.

We want to thank Warlord Hades for assisting us through the process of realigning our fleet in order to not only purchase our Harrower. But I can’t remember how many times we sat down and figured out what is going where, the moves, the naming. It was quite a bit but totally worth it.

Before we get into Clan operations, the PCon and I want to say HUGE thank you one more time for a kick ass showing during the launch of Seasons! We had a solid showing for CNS of 35.48% participation rate. Not to mention we had a number of folks snagging some nice placements throughout the event. If you did not catch the email with results, here they are again.

  • Fiction: Lord Keibatsu took 2nd and Master Bentre Stahoes took 8th.

  • Graphics: Lord Keibatsu 8th

  • Gaming: Lord Keibatsu 9th

  • Small Team R/O: Master Bentre Stahoes, Adept Tasha Vel'Versea, Warlord Hades, Governor Hugo Siphaar 3rd

  • Seasons I Parabellum Results

Congratulations everyone, awesome to see and it was awesome to be a part of! Season 2 is just around the corner so be ready for more action.

Now to Clan Ops. First off, we will see a change in storyline here as the PCon and I already have some of the ingredients for a new storyline for the Clan to challenge ourselves with. We will be slotting out some crosstalk time to really dig in to the details and layout the plan. To me this is the coolest stage of development, because it forces me to take good notes and research the unfamiliar bits.

Now in other news around the Clan. We lost a couple of folks due to r/l obligations, as well a bittersweet loss for us and a leadership opportunity for one of our now former members. Back in late March, we received some unfortunate news from our lone QuA of HSD, Quentinshadows. Quentin had to make the decision to step away due to some r/l obligations. Well after a few weeks of kicking the grind in the bootie and luckily for all of us Quentin is back! Cannot wait to see you back at it!

We also want to say thanks and congratulations to Hugo Siphaar for being selected to be QuA over in Clan Scholae Palatinae. Congrats on the position!

Now, as you can the Houses has had everyone transferred over, we are just waiting on the administrative actions to take effect and the Houses will be decommissioned until further notice. Then we will see the openings for the Magistrates shortly after. The PCon and I have been discussing our structure layout both functionally and fictionally for the Clan. These positions will be a good way to slowly introduce members into a leadership role or slide back into a leadership role. Either way, these Magistrates will have a direct and lasting impact on the Clan.

We however, will still be continuing with business as usual. While we are putting together our ideas and laying out more detailed plan(s)m, we will be developing a small event or two. In the meantime, if anyone has been sitting on an idea(s) that would like to try to put together a story for the Clan. By all means let’s hear what you got. Always time to brainstorm with ya!!!

Currently here are a couple nuggets to keep us busy:

Darkhawk was tactical this time. He gave me like zero notice that he was putting out a report, which means that I have limited time to vent my spleen and talk about ancient times or high concepts of what the club is about. Smart on him.

But he underestimates my capacity to pontificate.... nah, not going to do that. lol I would like to say that now that all the results from Parabellum are out, we had a very good showing. I know that this format for vendettas can seem a little daunting, but I am hoping that everyone sees it for what it is: an opportunity. Participation, credits, experience, all are critical elements of my totally secret plan to make everyone an eld.... nevermind.

More importantly, having fun with friends is a bigger deal. The world is an obnoxious place, with too many stressors, and spending time with firends doing things you enjoy, be that writing cooperatively like in RPs or shooting down rebel scum/bugs and bots in gaming, these are needed vents for our stress, and good ways to build stronger friendships. And friendships are what keep us all coming back to this club, year after year, decade after decade.

Also, if you haven't gotten in on the final stretch of the current RP mission that clan members are on, you should do that. It’s winding to a close and the team will need all the help they can get. Just ask in Discord, and we'll get you invited and caught up.

Otherwise, stay safe out there, and have fun!
