Hello, lovelies.
It’s been a long while since we’ve had a Consul report — October was taken up with Aftermath, and then much of November with getting her results out and fictions written. Tack on the holidays and the closing weeks of a semester, and you have a dearly late and much needed account as a result. For this, you have my apologies, and for your patience, my thanks. You’re all saints.
(She said, with a straight face.)
Now, this report is going to be long, and I do mean long. I will be brief in areas where I can be, such as in relating news items that you can read in more detail on their own, but in others I’ll be talking at Atty-length. Here’s a table of contents (and yes, the links go to the respective headers, thanks Vic for teaching me that one) so you can jump to each section, and a list of what we’ll be covering:
Sidenote, this one’s theme was totally going to be based on the play that renders me speechless which I happen to have been listening to non-stop (heh) for the last two months straight thanks to somepecan, Hamilton — however, as is classic of 2016, news broke a couple days ago about Ron Glass’s death, and now instead I choose to pay tribute to wonderful men like him, and characters like Shepard Book.
Some months ago, the new version of our Covenant was released to you, the members and general public, to review before finalizations were made. This last month, after revisions from Dark Summiteers and member commentary, Jac presented the Dark Council and Consuls with a vote to ratify the New Covenant, along with some amendments. That vote is currently closing, but expect to see Jac’s official announcements soon.
In accordance with this, several other things have changed, both in the Fist office, highlighted below, and at the Shadow Academy. As Jac and Farrin both reported, CoJ I and II have been retired, pending new courses based on the new Covenant. You can read more about it and other new courses, like Ranged Weaponry, in Farrin’s latest report.
Also note, as is JST business, a new Appeals Panel was recently selected. Congrats and thanks to Alethia, Alaris, and Kodias.
In line with the new Covenant and the new times (Telegram as our main program, IRC’s departure and the IRC course’s retirement), Drac and team recently updated the RoCs bigtime. Check out the highlights straight from his report:
Drac is also looking for a new Magistrate. Here's his requirements:
If you're interested, send your apps to him and Ernor by December 16th at the latest.
With Possessions Live coming up fast (according to Evant’s latest report) and pending upgrades in the Herald office, the Herald and Praetor have announced that from now on until stated otherwise, the custom weapons request system is offline and requests are closed. You can read a teeny bit more about it here if inclined.
As of my last report, we were pending several appointments on the Dark Council and Dark Summit. Evant had just become our first Possessions-overseeing Regent, Drac was being appointed to Fist, Aiden was called as the new Consul of Taldryan, and Wally became the next Voice, with Atra appointed to Combat Master shortly thereafter.
/me breathes
It’s a lot of newness going into the new year! Be sure to offer them all congratulations and gratitude as they continue to work so hard for all of us in their new positions. Many of their reports are linked below. Cheers to them, and to our future.
These offices and more have also been recruiting lately. There’s new Magistrates in the MAA, HM, and Voice offices, and new Judges under said new CM. Cheres to them too!
Upon Wally’s appointment as Voice, he and the staff and other collaborators began publishing a new series of official Brotherhood fictions referred to as the Anthology Series. Check out Wally’s first Voice report for tons of information about the series itself and the future of Brotherhood and Clan fiction.
Hint: these are important and you should read them. They’re not terribly long and they’re going to affect us.
The first update, No Return, features Marick taking his place as Voice and cementing his loyalty to Pravus in a terrible display as he murders our own Zakath Argona, who had been defending a settlement of rescued Undesirables, before Damon Nix, leader of the Inquisitorious.
The second, discussed in another report here, was titled Rise of the Lotus and covers the story of the united Resistance forces of Clan Odan-Urr and Clan Arcona targeting and destroying one of Pravus’ shipbuilding factories. Pravus is not pleased by this, and sets his sights on the pests he can reach — Arcona. This one also rebrands The Resistance as The Lotus. (#arcouhype)
In the next few days, you all can expect the final chapter of the Anthology series from the Voice office, titled Seven Strands. More details in the newest Voice report.
Just as we celebrated The Force Awakens’ release last December, this year we celebrate the upcoming premiere of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, on the 16th. To that end, the Dark Council is running another series of competitions for the holidays!
There’s graphics, fiction, riddles, a Run-On, Battlefront gaming, and more. CHECK OUT ALL THE COMPS HERE IN CAPS!
For some additional explanation on the Fiction and Run-On, see Wally’s report.
If you need help forming a Run-On or Battleplan team, contact your summit/Donny and I, and we will assist you in finding one. Remember that these teams can be — and are even encouraged to be — cross-clan parties!
Now go, my darlings! Go, GO, GO!
And remember, Atty’s watching you.
We’ve been having a pretty good run of it ourselves — a couple leadership changes amidst holiday madness, lots of cooperation between we and our ally Clans, total domination of various events #invicta style, and more!
In particular, before I get into the comp madness, I’d like to officially welcome and congratulate Ernordeth Puer-Irae on his appointment to Quaestor of House Galeres. Brae-Brae left big shoes to fill, but if you’ve ever met Ernor or his jokes, you know he’ll more than fill them. A further welcome to Xenna in replacing Mord as TMR’s Battleteam leader. You’ll both be fantastic.
Check out Ernor’s first QUA report right here.
Otherwise, Qel-Droma and Galeres both remain two awesome gems in the crown that is the First Clan and Mama Atty couldn’t be prouder of Arcona as a whole. Stay awesome.
While Sins of the Past: Episode III was originally scheduled for October, we cleared that out of the way so you all could tackle the piles of Aftermath and Halloween events. November was given as a rest month, and also saw the newest ACC event, Guests of the Matron, and so we arrived at December and decided that so, too, would we give y’all room to focus on Celebration events and the Sithmas comps Donny and I are concocting TWENTY ONE MORE DAYS TIL SITHMAS GUYS, TWENTY ONE EEEEE — ahem.
That said, Sins III is now pinned for January.
Don’t forget too much in the meantime! We will be sending out several summaries soon, but remember, you can always refresh on the whole plot thus far here on the Discourse page.
Over the course of our delightful day of dread and demonic deeds, All Hallow’s Eve, we and our Best Friends For Life/Facebook Status: In a Relationship buds, COU, partnered to bring back Halloween Horror Nights 2016. It was great fun all around, and we saw some nice stats

An enormous thank you to Braecen Kaeth and Turel Sorenn for organizing this quick, fun event. There were 28 Crescents awarded between the individual events and primary competition, and all of you just shone. Amazing work by everyone involved!
Oh, and sidenote, speaking of our #ohana, Odan-Urr held Title selections for their Clan and dear Turel got one. Whoop whoop to all of them!
Now, what was I saying? Ah, yes...
Aftermath was a large-scale event, meant to be “light and fun” as far as effort needed in each competition but with important fictional events integral to Arcona and her fellow Clans alike. While I’ll discuss the actual execution of those goals below, this section is primarily to fill you in on what happened, to us and others, fictionally.
FIND ALL THE UPDATES RIIIIIIIGHT HERE
And if that was you, then to help y’all along, here are several summations:
A summary statement from the Arcona Timeline, written by Terran/Vic:
Aftermath features an unlikely alliance between the Eden-Estle Axis and Clan Plagueis. In the wake of Pravus' attack on Plagueis, and Val Cole and Wuntila Arconae's assassination of Tarentum's Telona, Uji Tameike disobeys Atyiru's orders and delivers Wuntila to Tarentum Proconsul Sith Bloodfyre. Uji Tameike, acting on his initiative, offers to join with the combined strike force of Tarentum and Plagueis in a surprise attack against the Iron Throne's fleet over Antei. Atyiru, following in the wake of her rebellious Proconsul, arrives in time to help the combined forces escape. In the aftermath, four Clans - Odan-Urr, Arcona, Tarentum and Plagueis - stand "united" against the Iron Throne.
A slightly more detailed TL;DR for those of you not checking your inboxes:
Rather than make this report AN EVEN LONGER SCROLLFEST by including the results chart here directly, I’m once again going to link you darlings to the Aftermath: Results newspost. They’re pretty graphs and shiny symbols. Very detailed. But the highlights?
Y’all. Freaking. Dominated.
There were over 500 unique submissions in that thing and Arcona accounted for roughly half of those, and accounted for well over half the total participants. All three top placements were Arconan. That’s pretty damned awesome for an “invitational” event, and makes Atty a very happy momma about our upcoming War prospects when y’all bring your A-game.
Now...as for the event itself…
You gorgeous darlings know me. I am one to admit my faults first if possible and be as honest as I can be about those shortcomings and how to better them. I’m gonna do that now.
Aftermath could have gone better. Why? Because it in many places it was more confusing for you guys than it was fun, and if you all don’t enjoy an event, then it has failed its primary purpose, at least to me. Generating activity is wonderful, and you all performed amazingly and will be justly awarded for your efforts. But you should have felt your time was well-spent and had fun doing it, and I do not think that happened.
Chiefly, we can take two things to improve on away from this: organization and communication. I’ll tackle them one at a time.
First, we can be better organized fictionally and directionally when running events. Aftermath saw few updates for the month span of its course, and they didn’t really serve to further the overall plot for you guys very clearly — set it up, yeah, but not continue it, not until the closing fiction. This meant things like plot holes or vague rules in competition descriptions, general confusion, and an overall lack of direction, especially because many prompts focused on nonexistent story events.
Secondly, one must always communicate when running an event, openly and ahead of time as well as throughout. What is expected of who, what needs to be done, what plans are had, etc — for us, none of it got easily telegraphed, and when we did talk, those communications were sparse due to some severely busy and conflicting schedules of all involved. That business hit harder later on when it came to grading, too, and we were staring down a whooping 500+ entries that each of us all graded individually/by hand, then averaged out our scores for final placements. But the process was long, and so after a long event where y’all didn’t really know what was supposed to be happening, you also had to wait ages to see how you’d done. It’s not what I would expect of an event I had run or one I’d see run in Arcona, but we can learn plenty from our experiences here.
We fleshed out an old alliance and brought it into our present. We made strides fictionally, tethering ourselves between Clans and to the larger story of the Brotherhood. We showed great participation and spirit and created a pool of entries well on par with that of a major Vendetta if not better. We practiced our poetry and wiki skills and got involved with people we normally don’t get to talk to as much who we can call friends. We grew, and that’s important.
We also learned how to do better in the future. This was an event spanning three of the Brotherhood's seven clans. Events like this have the potential to be masterpieces — large-scale, cohesion-promoting competitions that show what we as a club are capable of doing together. If anything, ones like them should be encouraged more often, run more often, and run better with practice. The skills, socialization, and experience gained will be invaluable for the club. We're capable of doing great things like that, and we ought to.
So, yes, Aftermath had its challenges, but while I would have liked more from it as an event, I am most definitely assured that you all were successful as members partaking in it. You came, you saw, you blew us all away.
I am proud of you.
And that’s all I’ve got to say about that, so without further ado, I give you a last bit of fiction to tie up our end of the Aftermath event...

The command center was quiet save the small outcries of received datastreams wailing from various hubs. Gathered loosely around one end of the table were several of Arcona's finest, current and former leaders alike.
Every one of them had stuncuffs on their wrists and guards at their backs.
Their Consul stood alone at the other end of the table, her countenance unusually chill and unwaveringly determined. After a long moment, she spoke, addressing first the battered half-Theelin.
"Wuntila, you and I may never agree, but I assure you, these men don't speak for me. They acted without sanction, and for that, like you, they will answer. For all the wrong you have done, though, you did it with heart, and I thank you for your service if nothing else. Captain! Take him away and hold him in quarters under guard. No visitation, no communications. The Tarenti and I shall convene on his fate later."
"Yes, my Lady!"
"Qurroc, Puer-Irae, you will be under probationary watch until I say otherwise, and will fulfill your duties without pay for the next six weeks. Any wrong moves, and you'll join our disgraced Arconae. The rest of you are dismissed. Uji!"
While the Galeran leaders were unshackled, the Shadow Scion’s brow rose as he waited for his punishment to be met out.
"For you I need no such considerations. Guards, escort him to the brig. The moment we enter orbit over Selen, he is to be imprisoned at the Citadel." Her arm rose, pointing out towards the lifts as she addressed her Proconsul again. "We shall speak later."

"Atyiru, I—”
Her slap of Force energy cracked across his face. She hissed at him coldly through the electrified bars of his new cell, "You don't speak for me!"
Uji had no response, and she went on, "You do not speak for me and you do not speak for this Clan, Tameike, not yet. So tell me, what were you thinking?! What madness made you think I needed your usurpations making this war worse? What madness made you think throwing yourself into the rancor’s mouth would be helpful? You solved nothing in kidnapping Wuntila, you've aggravated our allies in the Arconae! You've only lent him more credence!"
"You're absolutely right, I should have had him shot in the mouth. That would have shut him up."
"Be quiet before I have you shot."
His smirk was cruel and mirthless. "Then perhaps you and some of these fools would learn something."
"Those 'fools' are our brethren!"
"Brethren? They don't deserve the honor of standing beside us. Wuntila, Braecen, Val Cole, these men take your name, your command, and run it through the mud!"
"We both know you couldn't be any less concerned with my name or yours. Do not make my reputation an excuse for you to endanger this entire Clan."
"Endanger the Clan? You do it every day you refuse to fight! If you would just wake up and place me in command, I could take control after the war, I would see us through this war!"
"You would die, and I need you alive — your family needs you alive. You go out there now, today, and you will get everyone around you killed in your bloody quest for martyrdom. Stop trying to prove something! Take this vengeful film from your eyes and think. You throw your life away."
"It would be a worthwhile death if it ended this. We’ve stood to the side long enough, Atty."
"That sacrifice and determination are not your place. I am the Consul of this Clan, and you would do well to remember why instead of traipsing off to this insanity! I trusted you to do what I needed you to do, what I couldn't do, to be a promise to the future of our home, not to run wild, disobey direct orders, challenge me and my every word! How could you be so stupid?!"
"Because, Atty, unlike me, they need you alive."
"Don't give me that. What they need is someone to guide them, what they need is someone to protect them, what they’re going to need is you when I’m gone."
His voice grew irritable, as if speaking to a child, "It’s you they need alive and you they need to take action.”
"I am already taking action and I am failing!" The door of the cell rattled as her Force-projected shout seemed to shake the very foundations of the stone under their feet. They were both silent. After a long moment, she drew a herself upright with a deep breath, her expression firm. "Your unending recklessness and disregard for the institution of your command are irredeemable. You're not going to walk free for a long time, Uji. You're going to sit quietly in your cell while I think of a way to get us out of the mess you’ve made!”
"...Very well. I look forward to seeing your strategy play out,” he shot back, a half-smile on his face as he took a seat on the bunk within his cell, appearing completely comfortable, even peaceful, as if where they each stood now had been his intent all along. Infuriatingly, the Miraluka realized, it likely had been. He knew her too well, knew she would not turn to violence as anything but a last resort. All his goading the last months about her needing to take more initiative in the war had led to this moment, when he knew she would do anything to protect her own.
"The Force take you, Tameike."
Reminder as ever — you’ll notice this as a new permanent report feature for the foreseeable future — for our ideological factions, different schools of thought that draw different people together and lead to certain goals and actions in Arcona.
These “factions" have long been developing amongst all our individual characters and in the stories we as a Clan have told, and they’ll be our device to further establish ourselves and develop now! They’re our boats to help us along in the fictional sea of the New Order storyline, its eventual War wrap up, Sins of the Past, Aftermath, everything from DB to BT level, and more.
It’s still a very big chart.
If you want to go back over the specifics and thorough details of all the factions, refer back to my previous report on the topic.
Reminder that some of the standing Summit and Arconae (no longer a Barabel, sadface) have all declared their factions to help out as a reference. You can check them for an idea of who’s who, where, doing what — just bear in mind that while YOU know these allegiances, your characters may not.
We saw movements from all of these groups over the course of Aftermath and recent battles aboard the Godless Matron, as well as in Sins II, and will see them not only later in Sins III and in House fictions and the War. A recap:
Among the Champions we see Atty taking a stand in punishing dissenters in both Wuntila and Uji, and in declaring Arcona openly as a part of the Resistance and a force for “good”; we see the numbers of Iron Loyalists and Inquisitors watching from among our ranks growing, including their leader, Atra Ventus, and newly-turned Skar Argona; we see Shadow Hearts like Wuntila and Ernor doing their parts to keep Arcona safe regardless of either side of the larger conflict; we see a bold move in the Operatives’ kidnapping of an Arconae, but also a loss of her leaders following Uji’s imprisonment and Zakath’s murder; and we see more and more people wavering from the Wildcards as the margin for staying uninvolved grows dangerously slim.
What’s next for all these groups? How will the events of the December comps and Sins affect them, and each of you? How will your stories continue to build under the New Order?
Go find out.
You, my dear Arconans, have done beautifully as ever. I’ll keep this short in mindfulness of the rest of this report: be proud of yourselves as I am of you for all you’ve done.

Atra asks, #AskThePCON other than the Arconan Orientation page I'm perpetually working on because other projects keep happening, what ways do you recommend for getting inundated with the Arcona fictional realm without diving into the daunting wiki articles unaided by a guide with a handy torchlight?
Mirus asks, #AskThePCON when's Sins 3 maybe
Xenna asks, #AskthePCON how would you feel if Zakath's force ghost came after you with a sledgehammer?
Celevon asks, #AskthePCON How would your characters feel if they received reptile skin accessories? Boots, belts and whatnot.
Mirus also asks, #AskThePCON What fictional events have you both most excited right now?
Atty asks, #AskThePCON because *@$! you I can it's not my hashtag, favorite movie villain and why
Blade asks, #askthePCON when we play JA, what drink do you want beforehand?
Xenna also asks, #askthePCON when is atty going to take over as GM?
Turel asks, #asktheAtty When are we storming the new dark hall? COU is ready to ride! (seriously, what now?) In light of the last Voice fiction ARC-COU got play of the game for blowing up that shipyard
2016 has been rough. Hella rough. But it’s coming to a close, and soon we’ll be greeting a new year. I want to remind you guys that for every rough edge, there’s been so, so much that you’ve all done brilliantly, that you’ve all accomplished, that you’ve all polished to a shine. Keep being you, Arconans. Keep winning, keep stumbling, keep growing, keep making godawful jokes and posting terrible GIFs and making me banhammer you for spiders. Whatever comes next, and whatever has passed, the important part is you, and your brothers and sisters at your sides. Have faith in that.
Because me? I’ve faith in us.

1) ;-; RIP Ron Glass 2) You have me hella excited for everything on yonder. 3) Congrats and great work to all who participated in events, earned themselves an award/promotion, and to those who have taken the initiative to help lead their units, former and now current.
@Atty @Uji
Excellent report that again continues to set a gold standard for reports. Informative, precise, and very easy to read. I haven't been able to track the events of Arcona since leaving, but it's nice to know I can check the Consul report and easily get caught up.
Fab report, I feel an sudden urge for a prison break, however I also get the feeling that we are in a lot of trouble, and may not come out of this we'll.
