As many of you will have seen by now, in Bubba’s report yesterday, Atty and Qyreia are no longer serving on the Arconan Summit, and both the Consul and Proconsul spots for Arcona have been opened for applications. In the meantime, I, Zuza, will be standing as Consul as applications for Consul are reviewed. This is a huge change and I’d like to thank all of you for being as respectful and supportive as you have been. Arcona may be the Shadow Clan but Ohana is one of our strongest mottos.

So, now that we’ve addressed what the heck just happened I'd like to talk about the next biggest question we have seen: ‘Why did this happen?’.

For that why: A discussion in relation to members being awarded was held some months ago. Based on the way that went and the results of it up till now, the decision was made to make a change with Arcona’s leadership. Qy and Atty were not a part of that decision, nor did they or anyone in the summit know it was taking place. When the decision was made, it came into effect upon the announcement and without further discussion with either of the leaders. Qy and Atty weren’t planning on stepping down any time soon. This news was a surprise and, quite frankly, a shock to us all.

As acting Consul, I will be working closely with the Grand Master to ensure that we are aligned on the expectations from that conversation in the future. I will also be communicating with Qy and Atty to make sure the projects that were already ongoing get seen to completion, or at least structured to be so in the future, throughout this transition. This includes setting up the Godhunt plotlines, the reform of the military as well as anything else that was underfoot.

I will also be applying for Consul myself, in hopes of providing stability and direction to Arcona rather than jumbling things around at the top multiple times in the same month.

Finally, as always, if you ever have a problem or concern within or out of the clan, reach out to the Summit. We are here to be a community together and we cannot do this if every voice isn’t heard. My DM’s are always open to an almost obnoxious level, so I implore you to use it so I’m not letting the draft in for nothing.

Off of the topic of business.

Qyeria and Atty. I’d like to formally and personally thank you both for everything you’ve done for Arcona. As leaders and as friends. As cheerleaders and spearheads. It’s a large duo of boots that have been left at the door, one’s that have worked tirelessly despite personal circumstances to ensure that our members were not just entertained within our star wars club, but were supported as members of a community.

Between his schedule and having a life, (how dare he) Qy has been very busy during his time as Consul. For every crank and shift you saw, he worked that ten times as hard behind the scenes despite the tumultuous situation he was in. Whether it was on events, on making sure things Got Done or being the voice of logic and reason. Qy was there, holding the boat steady when things otherwise were very much not so. He’s pushed hard for us fictionally, as well as in his management of the clan. His focus and dedication has been a backbone for us for the last nearing two years.

Atty is a beam of light that casts the shadows our clan resides in and has been for years… and will most likely continue to do so no matter where she resides. She’s just non-stop. Literally. Creating stories for the clan, for her own and the characters of others. Being a spokesperson for others, being there for every trip and fall to ensure that Arcona stands strong. Her dedication to Ohana is beyond what anyone would ask or expect.

I wanted to take a second to say a few things. Not quite like it was when I decided it was time to retire from Con, but hey, I'm truly lucky to get to give two goodbye speeches. It's representative of the fact that I was given the honor and trust to serve all of you and know all of you and laugh and cry and meme with all of you. And I am so grateful for that. More than I can say. More than I think even I realized, until yesterday, which is...stunning. I didn't think I could care more. I didn't think I could hurt harder than I already did and already have in these nearly eleven years of being part of this Clan, of trying every damn day, of--

Making rainbows so diehard ingrained that it's on Possessions and flagships now when the original point was #LGBTQIA+pride and going hard against the Darkity Dark Grain, of having something to say about everything in every formal discussion on down to calling out jokes or throwaway comments in chat because the things we say matter the things we say can hurt and SOMEONE has to speak up, of being so uncompromising in being #sexpositive against so much worldly shame, especially in the feminist realm against the old DB, that we're basically considered a Clan of indecent heathens who all write smut now, which is frankly hilarious. I hear a lot of "you brought this on yourselves" about that. You bet we did. And we'll keep doing, if the sheer amount of cucumber jokes is any measure to go by.

I love you. All of you. Every one. Whether you've been here a day or a decade. Whether you're Arconan or just stop by the chat or post pet pictures or share some ally articles. I have loved writing with you, drawing with you, talking with you, hearing your problems and tribulations and getting to know your names. I love you. I believe in you. I want you to know whatever your best is today, if that's getting out of bed or taking a shower or grinding out 60 SA courses and ten comps or whatever else. And your best is enough. You are enough. Thank you for existing. Thank you for staying. Thank you making my world bigger.

And to my Arconans specifically, three things, as is proper:

I am sorry for the ways in which we failed you at times.

I look forward to every next day with you by your sides.

And most of all: be good. You know what that means. Please do that for me, and do it for Zu, and for all our amazing, wonderful new leaders who are going to become the next best thing and lead you so wonderfully. Be good.
