A Message from the Proconsul

Greeting Arcona and welcome to your June Report,

I’m taking over reporting this month for Kordath, and we have some big things to discuss. First off I would like to say how thrilled and honored I am to be the Proconsul of this prestigious clan filled with so many amazing people. I value all of the hard work that you have all done for Arcona, and I cannot wait to see what you all have to put forward in the months to come.

I would like to thank Uji Tameiki for all of his hard work and dedication that he put forth for this Clan. As Proconsul he was looking to be a newfound force of invigoration and growth and unfortunately for us all he was unable to continue in this position. I hold him in the highest esteem and look forward to the day where he may join us once again in our Clans endeavors. I would also like to thank our Consul Kordath, our outstanding Rollmaster Zuji, our amazing Quaestors Lucine and Aldaric, and the Arconae for putting their faith in me as I step into some very large shoes to fill. I hope that I not only exceed your expectations but truly prove my love for this Clan that took me in when I truly needed it.

This last month has been really exciting, from the ACC tournament(which we will discuss later) to the influx of competition being run from many of our members. These competitions are a trend that I hope to cultivate and help flourish. Aside from being a useful tool in your journey through the ranks, competitions(both running them and participating in them) are an important part of the club. They help promote growth in the membership as a whole by offering an assortment of fun activities for everyone to do. They also bring in credits to both the Clans and their members to further build out possessions and other fun things. Competitions truly are the lifeblood of activity within the DJB, and I hope to see more effort from everyone to run and participate in them!

We have some big things coming up, including the upcoming Great Jedi War. I will talk more about this later in this report, but just know that I really think we have a shot at retaking the title of 1st Clan! To do this we need all hands on deck. We can only achieve this together, and as the family we are I look forward to seeing what we all have to put forward.

Clan Fiction Update

All that they had to do was hold on.

Such was the message, really, behind their orders: to hold off the Elysium Battle Group until the Arcona Expeditionary Force made it back from their deployment. Phrases like "prevent complete planetary assault" and "prevent landfall of troops and drive off attackers, cripple warfighting capacity" were tossed around, along with rankings of priority, as well as wishes to destroy their attackers, but really, the goal was the same under it all.

Just stay alive.

Unfortunately for them, Battlefleet Elysium had a clear upper hand in anti-capital ship weaponry, a solid starfighter complement, and had been trained specifically to counter Iron Throne and Clan naval tactics. If that wasn't enough, their ruthlessness and zealousness made them suicidal, and that made them even more dangerous.

They were not, however, defending their home, and the Arconans were. And they would not let a single enemy boot touch ground on Selen's beautiful soil, not today. Today, they held on.

The Dajorra Defense Force, stationed in orbit, knew its mission, as did all its commanders. As expected, as the Collective Lancers and fighters came within range, the protective screen of Arconan starfighters broke to begin combating Elysium ships. As soon as an opening was created in enemy lines, the Clan capital ships opened fire on the Lancers, even as they were targeted by enemy Dreadnaughts. It didn't matter if they were hurt; they would hold the line.

The space surrounding Selen became a graveyard and battlefield both to starfighter bodies. The combined firepower of both the Wrath of the Dawn and Dusk Station and all their fighters were decimating the enemy Lancers and fighters, albeit with heavy damage sustained. But that, too, didn't matter.

Just hold on. Just stay alive.

More and more ships poured into the blackness between the stars. Laserfire replaced starlight, blotted out the white star of their sun. But still they fought. They fought even as fighter after fighter joined the debris, the silent embrace of the void. They fought as Dusk Station grew battered, even the Golan weakening. They fought even against overwhelming odds, because that was what they did, what all shadows did, cast by light or dark; they survived.

They held on.

And eventually, their sister fleet came.

And eventually, the only enemy boots touching the ground was the dust that descended into see Selenian oceans, unbeknownst and unremembered to anyone still breathing.

• The first bit of Big News is that we now have a new Clan among us. Clan Vizsla is live and we should all welcome our Mandalorian inspired mercenary group of comrades to the family, and then promptly beat them into submission in the upcoming war! (JK, I think…)

• Speaking of which, Next month, July, we will be taking part in the 13th Great Jedi War!!! Things are looking a challenge on all sides as we gear up to face out DJB brethren in this next battle for internet club supremacy. I will be going all out this war, and I hope to see you all too! More news will be brought to you, as it is brought to us. What we do know is that the newly formed Severian Principate will be at the forefront of this newest chapter in our clubs story. I for one cannot wait to see what happens.

• We have some new DC’ers stepping into the spotlight. As Vyr has stepped down, Evant has been chosen as our newest Deputy Grandmaster. Atra has been selected to fill the Regeant void left behind from Evant’s ascension. And Drac has stepped down as FIST taking up the role of Praetor to the Grandmaster, while Alaris Jinn becomes the new FIST.

• The ACC tournament has come to a close, and the scores are in. Lucine Vasano has won the tournament!!! Congratulations Lucine, this was a well and hard earned victory. A big shout out to all of the Arconan’s who participated in this tournament: Satsi Tameiki, Magik, Terran Koul, Qyreia Arronen, Sashar Erinos Arconae, Lucine Vasano, Rhylance, and Kordath Bleu. You all did amazing!

• I would like to give a special shout out to our new House rosters. There has been a lot of changes going around in the past few months, so I would like to highlight our amazing House Staffs! In Galares, we have Aldaric as our newest Quaestor with Skar remaining the ever amazing Aedile. Spectre Cell is headed up by Battleteam Leader Skarlett! In Qel-Droma we have Lucine as Quaestor with Tali as her right-hand lek-woman, her Aedile! Voidbreaker is now under the watchful eyes of Emere and we all know she will do spectacularly in the job! Thank you all for your service to our Clan.

“The fact that you are asking makes me seriously ask how you came to be a concerned father in the first place…”

“I do not recognize this speech process. My apprentice, is everything ok? Do you need another physical or mental examination? I can always call M.O.R.S.E. over.”

• Lucine asks many questions:

1. Do you find it disconcerting that so many Arconans are asking where babies come from?

“Many things about this Clan are disconcerting. I have learned to live with it. Hopefully the mental stimulants I have fed into the water supply help some.”

2. Is Kordath still making you stand 25 feet away from him.

“Our dear Consul sure can be paranoid. It is funny that he thinks that these 25 feet would save him if I was planning anything insidious.”

3. Have you developed a better working relationship with Kord? How about Strong?

“Things with Kordath are moving along nicely. I remain skeptical of him, and he remains nervous about me. All things are as they should be.”

4. How's Plan F348 going?

“That plan is moving along swimmingly. I will inform you of any changes.”

5. What plans do you have for your tenure as PCON?

IC: Sooooo many plans, mwahahahahaha. My experiments shall intensify!!!!!

OOC: For now, it’s mainly war hype and helping Kordath with whatever he needs. Post War? I would love to strengthen our gaming community. Arcona used to have a very strong gaming presence. I feel we’ve lost that. I’d like to get that back. I would also like to build up our current and future leaders. This Clan truly has some incredible people and I’d love for them all to leave their mark on this Clan.

6. What do you plan to do about the sudden inexplicable disappearances occurring among the homeless population?

“I have not noticed this. I have been too focused on the rapidly growing prosperity of Selen. If these two incidents are correlated then I do not see the issue here. The homeless were merely a drain on the already damaged economy.”

7. On a completely unrelated note, do you have time for all your experiments in addition to your duties as PCON?

“I most certainly do. I have a great team behind me, and I find M.O.R.S.E. to continue to be most useful.”

8. Miss me yet?

“Always, my dear. Always.”

9. Can Strong come out to play?

“Strong is too busy apparently keeping Kordath safe from all threats, so unfortunately for him, no.”

• Zujenia asks a few:

1: Do you carry a scalpel everywhere you go?

“You never know when one might be useful.”

2: Are you committing the Consul's office and routine to memory?

“Of course. It makes the job much more productive and efficient.”

3: Any plans to remove the fur rug from the throne?

“Not yet. He might still serve some usefulness.”

4: Oh, what's Rhylance's assessment of Zujenia? Her threat level? Placement on his lists? What are his lists for?

“Zujenia is a hard one. She holds massive potential but secludes herself from the darkness. Her eyes are firmly shut to the possibilities which make her weak. As for my lists? Top secret. You’ll understand.”

• *Xenna asks: Is this fatal? *drops a lump of fused together organs on the table **

“Considering organs shouldn't look like that...I might say yes.”

• Celevon follows up with: As a follow-up to Xenna's question, can we eat it?

“My gut instinct is no. Save it for the monsters.”

• Orion asks: What’s that...tingling sensation?

“Come to your physical and we can find out together.”

• Alaisy asks some more:

1: How does the Doctor feel about the different factions, especially the Severian Principate?

“The Collective are a disappointing bunch who have failed at their several attempts to truly destroy our Brotherhood. The Principate I am wary of. Perhaps we could be “allies” in the upcoming events. I do not know.”

2: What do you plan to do to hype up the upcoming war?

To hype this war I plan to personally push the members a bit and try to break them out of whatever small boces they might be in. Constant communication and openness about my own plans and creations are also paramount.”

3: Thank you for the lovely gift, I bought you a new set of Scalpels in return. There may or may not be an Alchemical enchantment on them. You may find they numb the pain on your subjects slightly. Use it for those you care about.

“Why thank you, my apprentice. Your gift was very thoughtful. I hope you enjoy your gifts to come.”

4: Could you tell people to wear armor sealing suits on the Voidbreaker when Lucine is visiting? All those frozen corpses she sends my way are less than talkative.

“I will do my best to rectify this situation.”

In Closing…

We have a difficult task ahead of us Arcona. That being said, I have full hope that we will be more than able to pull this off. I cannot wait to see what you all do in the War. See ya later for now.
