Fading Light: Part 2 - The ACC

In Round 1 we saw a large bulk of Arcona's 26 signups earn a “bye” week into Round 2. We watched Antar put up a great fight against Silent, but the ingenious Shi'do somehow pulled out a win. We then saw Nath Voth and Saskia advance from the Time Outs of their opponents. And to round it all off, Teroch pulled off a cunning victory against House Odan-Urr's Turel. If you want an example of how a DJK can fight against an Elder, that is it--the fight is brilliant on both sides. Power is great, but telling a compelling story is not just about "my power level is higher, so therefore I win." You can see from both Teroch and Turel that care was taken to make the fight engaging and interesting to read, despite the power difference between an Elder and a Knight. Keep that in mind, as well as these other tips from the Combat Master Seriously, listen to his tips...when the judges tell you what they are looking for, you should pay attention ;)

And so we charge forward. In total, we have 22 out of 64 combatants participating in Round 2! That is staggering when you stop to think and put it into perspective. It is now that you see where Arcona's true strength lies. Nineteen battles involving at least one Arconan- few of which pit Arconan against Arconan. In those cases, it's a bittersweet song as only one can advance. The other way of looking at it is: no matter what, an Arconan advances ;).

Competitions

The Arcona Sports Drink Competition is over. Four teams competed for the winning design of the official Clan Arcona Sports Drink, and the winner was Sight! His design for Shade Thirst was handily the winner. You can see the design below.

You will be able to pick up Shade Thirst at your local cantina, soon!

HOWEVER. While her Hyperdrive energy design only got 2nd place, River created what, in truth, will be my personal sports drink for the ACC Tournament. I'm talking of course about:

"Duh, winning!"

Sight does sweep the Commercial Contest, however, with his amazing radio ad. It's brilliant, and I now know I have some intense competition in MultiMedia within Arcona now! You can check out the radio ad here.

Antei Contract Bureau [2014 Pilot]

It’s been over a year since the ACB first debuted DB-wide. The club has gone through a lot of changes during that time, most notably the implementation of new Character Sheets and the return of the ACC. In what was always hoped to be a cousin to the ACC, the ACB showed that members of the Brotherhood were interested. Now, with the Brotherhood mostly focused on the largest ACC Tournament the club has ever seen, I hope to give members a chance to help test out the final concept of the ACB Proposal.

Specifics

A pilot run of the proposed Antei Contract Bureau, with a focus group of Clan Arcona Monthly Leader Board. The way this will work:

• Participants will request a contract from the Contract Request Form
• Participants will complete contracts to earn points for completion with the following point system:

Grade	Point Value
Incomplete	-2 Points
Needs Work	1 Point
Satisfactory	2 Points
Excellent	3 Points
Superior	4 Points

• Participants will earn points only for the grade their contract receives, not the difficulty. Difficulty of mission will be used when evaluating a contract to determine the grade.
• Participants will have 14 Days to complete their contract before it expires, and the result of Incomplete
• Participants must have posted and completed their contract in order to request a second contract.
• At the end of each month, the member with the most points will earn the title of "First Blade of Arcona"
• Points reset each month, but will accumulate in the All-Time Leader Board.
• The winner retains their title for duration of the next month, but must win again to keep the title.

This Parent Competition will be used to hold and record the All-Time Leader Board.
