Hey guys. I'm going to be putting out my actual report next week, but wanted to quickly touch base on a few things going on within Arcona leading up to it!

Also, big thanks to Kaz over in Tal for helping me get my new header-image to work the way I wanted it <3. For his services I’ve agreed to root for the Packers as long as they aren’t playing the Cowboys. (Ok, so I drafted Eddie Lacy this weekend and will be rooting for HIM to score points. Shh, though.)

End of an Era: RM Applications Open

As most of you know by now, Mark has stepped down from his position as Rollmaster to take up leading Soulfire Striketeam. For anyone who has been living under a rock the past two years, Mark has been an invaluable part of the Arcona System(tm): a system that saw Arcona boast a record 26 Knights and X more already this year.

Mark’s email response time is second only to mine. He has written a countless number of promotion reccs, and offered suggestions on how to better engage and keep those members interested. He has been on top of our Master-Student program and made sure that anyone interested got their chance at helping the new generation of members. Since taking up the job, he's seen a promotion to Equite 4 as well as a few smaller awards, novae, and even a nifty little Sacramental Blade.

So, I just wanted to take a minute and personally thank Mark for everything he's done as RM.

With that said, however, he leaves a pretty big gap in the Arcona Summit. A gap that we now need to fill.

You've seen what I've outlined above about how Mark did his job. It's pretty big shoes to fill. In Arcona, RM is treated like an unofficial third Quaestor-Aedile hybrid that exists independently of the Houses. The Rollmaster is dedicated solely to Clan Arcona and the development of its new members. It's not a flashy position, and doesn't offer much "power" or "flare" in the eyes of the DB. However, I believe it to be one the most important positions in our club.

What this means is that we take the position a bit differently than the way the rest of the DB might. If you think you are interested, please make sure you are willing to meet the following requirements:

1. Maintain a 10-Hour email turnaround time. This means that you should be able to contact other members of the Summit within a 10-hour window, even if it's simply a, "I'm on it" or, "I'll take care of it once I get back home" effort of communication. Communication is at the heart of the Arcona Summit, and if you aren't willing to put that minimum level of effort in, I wouldn't apply for the position.

2. Follow the guidelines outlined for new members on their path to DJK and assist them with this process by answering questions, comments, or concerns.

3. Headline every recommendation from Initiate to DJK, which means acting as the lead/sole recommendation for everything up to Jedi Hunter.

4. Offer input into Summit discussions on ways to improve the new member process and overall experience of Clan Arcona.

5. Publish a bi-monthly short-report highlighting up and coming journeymen by pointing out their accomplishments or even sitting down for a quick one-on-one interview.

6. Oversee and facilitate the Master-Student Program.

7. Join the Arcona Summit on WhatsApp (cross-platform communication application for mobile phones).

8. Exhibit patience with any member, regardless of their background, skill set, or learning ability level. Be compassionate and understanding for any member with learning disabilities.

9. Lead by example by participating in Arcona and DB activites/events.

House Qel-Droma: Aedile Applications Open

Alaris has been a star since joining us a few months ago. He stepped into a void we had and gave us some much needed veteran leadership in HQD. Unfortunately, RL has a way of sucker-punching us sometimes. Fortunately for Alaris, this one is a good punch! He's gotten really busy with his performing art, and was cast to fill in for yet another big production. I'm so proud of him for being able to pursue his dream on stage. (And so proud that he’s fantastical and a super-special awesome will-be celebrity of spectacularness that we’ll miss. -Atty, because proofing)

Thank you so much for everything you've done since joining us, Alaris. He has mentioned that he'd like to hang around with us, and vows to help us crush anyone who stands in our way when GJWXI hits!

This means that HQD needs a new Aedile.

Applicants should have:

• A concrete plan of action and ideas to help improve the House. (Does not need to be 30/60/90 as I find them a bit too rigid)
• Past leadership in the Brotherhood and notable achievements.
• Leadership experience outside of the club or in real life that may be relevant.
• ~ >24 Hour email turn-around.
• IRC presence.
• Rank of at least Jedi Hunter.
• Answer the Question: “Why do I want to be an Aedile?”

Typical Aedile duties include:

• Assisting your Quaestor with the monthly reports.
• Assist with being conscious of members’ activity and responsible for keeping track of when they are due a medal or promotion.
• Assisting with the writing of supporting recommendations for medals and promotions.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the members of your House.
• Being prepared to step up into the role of Quaestor should the Quaestor need to step away for a short period of time.

Earlier this week, you deemed me worthy of becoming an Elder in the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. I say you because without every single one of you working with me, being patient with me, being understanding with me, and most importantly believing in me, I would never have achieved this milestone.
