ODN Resurgent: Bridge
Nilgaard Sector, Kiast System
Orbiting Solyiat
Several Mandalorians in differing colors and insignia followed the Councilor of War to the Resurgent’s bridge, the midnight-and-gold of the Armis offset against the stark white-and-ochre of the Okami Clan. As Wulfram crossed the threshold and made for his post, his escort broke and spread throughout the expanse of the bridge. A subtle hiss sounded as Wulfram broke the seal on his helmet and removed it, the chill breeze of recycled aircon causing his skin to prickle.
“Officer on Deck.” A voice called from somewhere in the dusk of the deck, several stood or turned in their stations to face Wulfram as he lazily entered.
“At Ease. Status?” Wulfram shot back as he settled into ‘the throne’ before he turned his attention to the ship’s Executive Officer.
“Sir, no signs of the unidentified fleet on long-range scans. Reports from SysDef assets have come back with minimal signatures. The few distress beacons we did pick up on after their incursion led to— Well, there’s a compiled report from SeNET and SysDef regarding them. We’re recommended to avoid any such locator beacons, several have been found with dead oppositional forces and traps waiting to be sprung.” She returned, pulling a data slate from one of the consoles and opening the Report for the Councilor.
“So when the tide turned, they martyred themselves to take as many of us with them as they could.” He responded as he took the slate and nodded to the XO. “Thank you, Captain Vel.”
The last two months have been rather quiet, yet, this quiet was in no terms unproductive. Through January and The Power Within we began to test the waters of Clan Activity, finding what programs and initiatives drew the most interest from each of you, and began learning where we could better serve growth within Odan-Urr. Slight Restructuring, new members, and collaboration between Clans has pushed Gaming to the forefront of activity for us recently, but it is not all we have going for us. While things have been slow-going, currently, there is a well-established and known interest in Roleplaying amongst members of the Clan. The issue at hand has been matters of character hooks, preparation, or availability, all of which are being addressed. Currently, at Clan-Level we have the ‘Fields of Gold’ storyline running, wherein tensions between the Quohari or “The Folk” and local farmers have come to a pitch as raids and piracy on Kiast have interrupted trade routes between the safely inhabited regions, as well as some Clan Facilities. Our Boonta Eve social RP series has just come to a close, but, a new Social series will be opening soon, for those looking for a non-serious RP to jump in and out of at your leisure.
February has been a good month for Odan-Urr, albeit a very busy one for our leadership. A lot has been going on in the personal lives of the upper cadre, which has kept us from doing everything we wanted to do to better serve you, however, it gave us plenty of time to recharge, refocus, and prepare for the days to come. From our appointment of Ryuu Suoh as our new Lieutenant General (Magistrate to the Consul in charge of our Gaming Activities) to refactoring background processes from the Scimitar of Hoth tabulation, and preparation for our general storytelling path. There’s plenty more we’ve begun developing in the background, but to reveal it now would be to spoil the potential fun for all of you.
And for your part in all of this?
I’m glad to report that activity levels are holding steady across the Clan. At least half of the Clan has taken part in some form of activity this month, with many of you taking part in some activity at least weekly. I know it doesn't sound good, statistically, but with many people being socially active, rather than competitively active in The Brotherhood, it’s to be expected. Gaming has taken root within Odan-Urr once more, with a combined 411 Clusters of Earth and Fire earned as I write this.
Fiction and Art have their own solid backings now too, seeing solid growth each month. I’ll have a more detailed picture for all of you in a few days once the Month wraps up and I’ve assembled the full Scimitar of Hoth report.
By and large, this last month has been about you, with a large focus on our newer members, and from our newer members we're seeing some serious advancements. Eechee has graduated from the Proving Grounds to the Clan Proper, with Erin and Zyrethi chasing hot on their heels. Erin, a regular member of our gaming groups, has been wracking up a dedicated bundle of Clusters of Earth to make a name for themselves alongside Eechee and our newly appointed Lieutenant General (see above if you missed this detail). Zyrethi has been making a name for themselves in fiction competitions, as well as visiting on some RPs across The Brotherhood. With Eechee chasing down puzzles and gaming to make it to Knighthood, as well as being a general menace to the Discord, we're getting to see the promise of the Proving Grounds and our newer members spreading out, though we still have a lot of ground to cover.
This doesn't exclude our older members, however. As I said before, I don't want to dive into the depths of our current activity level until I have the full month's picture at hand, but I would love to point out the sheer volume of competitions and activity currently coming from our Consul as well as our current Scimitar of Hoth holder, Jafits Skrum.
There have been a lot of updates recently, including one of my favorites, wherein the FIST has recognized that we must all do our part to further spread Managed Democracy across the Galaxy. Here’s just a snippet of everything we’ve had in the last few weeks, to peruse, if you missed them from the front page.
Gui's next few days are going to be a little hectic, he's made a note in the COU Channel regarding this already, but I would like to reiterate that during the next few days, while things settle down and adjust after the delivery of Baby Sol #3 his response times will be slow. I will be available most evenings if you need immediate responses or assistance, and most weekdays I will likely respond within 1-2 hours of a direct message or ping while working (assuming I'm not driving at the time). Do not hesitate to reach out if needed.
