The Pinnacle
Command Center
The leadership of Plagueis was assembled together for the first time in weeks, led by the Dread Lord himself: Teylas Ramar di Plagia. The Falleen leader of Plagueis could best be described as someone who was patient, calculating, and strategic, but also fiercely loyal and protective of his clan. The war against Darth Pravus had exhausted the Ascendant Clan. The phase of rebuilding had begun. Both houses of Clan Plagueis had found new headquarters on Aliso to help spread the Plagueian Empire across the planet's surface. The Pinnacle, however, was still the center of attention.
Inside the top level of the massive, soaring superstructure the summit of Clan Plagueis crowded the conference room adjacent to the Pinnacles command center. Selika Roh, the Dread Lord's Wrath, sat impatiently in a corner tapping her fingers across the large conference table that centered the room. Jai'de, the Zeltron apprentice of Teylas who doubled as his personal assassin the past few months, stood next to the Dread Lord as Teylas glanced over at both of them. Now that Jai'de had returned, it only made sense for Teylas to reappoint her as Overseer.
On that thought, the Dread Lord spoke up through the rooms chatter, bringing everyone else to silence, "Jai'de: what is the status of your new training site?"
"Our engineers are almost finished. They've developed an underground network under the surface of an asteroid in the belt. It'll help keep the existence of Aliso a secret from our journeymen by ensuring they are in the dark of where they really are," the returning Overseer responded. "We're calling it 'The Circle'. It's taken from an old Sith legend of a training ground where combatants fight mercilessly in circular pits until one victor emerges. I plan to provide the clan with stronger, faster, and more ruthless Dark Jedi than ever before." She smirked slightly, knowing Teylas would approve.
"Excellent. I saw the report on our farms," the Dread Lord expertly pivoted the conversation as he spoke about the farms established on the outskirts of the Pinnacle's complex. "They're doing far better than expected."
"Kalon is doing excellent work," Selika plainly stated.
"What about our exploration of Aliso?" Teylas asked as he turned expectantly to Laren and Arden.
“Following our return, I found it prudent we begin some more in-depth reconnaissance of the planet,” Laren began, bringing up a holographic map of the planet in the middle of the conference table. The Pantoran quaestor of House Ajunta Pall, a bounty hunter by trade, was eager to present his findings. “One of my teams located another abandoned Separatist facility. Judging from the type of structure and what little information they could gather from the mostly-wiped memory banks, it’s a scuttled supply facility.” The map had centered on a position located to the southwest of The Pinnacle, though within reasonable shuttle distance.
“Interesting. Another aspect of the Separatist infrastructure that we can use to our ends. Is the facility still functional?” the Dread Lord asked, focusing on Laren.
“The technicians confirmed two days ago that the facility is still practically functional. Most of its defensive systems had been scuttled to shore up the defenses here, but the doors work, and the armour-plating is still in working order. Not to mention multiple sub-level hangars as well.”
“Excellent work,” the Dread Lord said, nodding his approval. . “Arden, what is the status of the Karness Muur headquarters?”
Arden had been sitting quietly, waiting for the right time to speak. Sensing all eyes in the room on him, he straightened up a bit and spoke. “Well, we found something interesting while out salvaging the wreckage of our fleet.”
Arden plugged a datacard into the holoprojector and it flared to life showing the old temple that Karness Muur’s scouts had located on the coast to the west. It was made up of a number of structures nestled amongst spires of solid stone, some of the structures built into the stone itself.
“From what we can decipher, it’s called Korada Monastery. We’ve only begun to explore the structure, but it seems to significantly predate the other structures we’ve found on the planet.”
“How old?” Selika inquired.
Arden gulped a bit, but then answered. “Still dating it, but it appears be date back at least three millennia.”
“Really?” Selika seemed surprised at the revelation. “It seems to be in good shape, considering.”
Arden nodded. “It seems it was in use by monks of the B’oamarr Order far more recently, and they kept up the site. Actually,” he continued, pointing to a few of the structures, “it looks like they even expanded the original facility somewhat. Whatever it’s origins, we’ve managed to fortify the site and are installing systems we’ve salvaged from the fleet. It should be operational soon.”
"That shores up what is going on at home. As far as our forces go… I've had Arden working on something for a while. Something that was supposed to supplement the Ascendant Fleet. Recent events have made it more of a necessity than a supplement," the Dread Lord commented with uncertainty as he turned towards Arden.
Arden spoke up on the mention of ships “I’ve been in contact with our people at Hyperdyne Industries. Between them and my contacts in the Corporate Sector, they have some potential leads on that front. Don’t think we can get a hold of anything on the order of what we used to have, especially since many of those models are so outdated it’s almost like they’re vanishing from the galaxy. As a result we’ll probably end up with fewer ships, but they will be newer than what we fielded before on the whole.”
"We should have a fleet in orbit in the coming weeks," the consul added. "We have enough subjugate companies in our financial network to procure enough ships for us."
The Togrutan Aedile of Karness Muur, Abadeer Taasii, tapped his fingers on the table before speaking up. “I’ve made some headway in that area myself. I've started to create some reliable contacts in the trade industries of the Regent. I don't know how much we want to rely on the Dark Council’s resources, but every ship we acquire from them is one more they don't have.”
The conversation almost seemed to die down until Selika stepped forward from her lean against the wall, "There is one more subject to deal with."
"Are they ready?" Teylas asked with a machiavellian grin. Selika nodded with an equally menacing smirk on her face.
The Pinnacle
Courtyard
The leadership of Plagueis was assembled as a wall, in the courtyard in front of the Pinnacle's main entrance. Teylas looked over as Jai'de and Selika came from the side with four Inquisitorius agents in chains along with them. The Overseer and Dread Lord's Wrath planted the four agents directly in front of the Dread Lord, on their knees. Teylas recognized the look on their faces all too well; the look of desperation knowing what was to come.
Nearly the entirety of the clans Force users and non-Force sensitive administrators were assembled waiting for the word of the Dread Lord. Teylas stepped forward to oblige. "Today marks a new era for Clan Plagueis. No longer will we fear these Inquisitorius; for what you can control, can't hurt you."
Teylas stepped forward, joined by Selika, Arden, and Jai'de as the four Dark Jedi flanked a respective Inquisitorius member. The Dread Lord of Clan Plagueis continued, "Pravus has control here no longer, and your deceptive, treasonous agents are no longer welcome on Aliso."
The Dread Lord extended his hand. Using the Force he pulled his lightsaber hilt from its clasp on his belt. With one fell swoop Teylas activated his lightsaber and lobbed the Inquisitorius' agent's head from his shoulders. With that thud, Arden, Selika, and Jai'de followed suit, bringing all four agents to a quick death.
Teylas turned to Arden as he motioned his lightsaber towards the ground, "See that these are returned to Darth Pravus."
The Pinnacle
Secure Communications Center
Selika had dismissed the few technicians that had still remained on duty at this late hour, leaving herself alone. The secure holocomm system would suffice for what she needed to do, and she took a seat before the main console. She keyed in the comm code she had memorized into the system with slow, deliberate keystrokes, being sure not to make a mistake. After her communication, she would be sure to purge any record of the message from the system.
As the transmitter came to life, waiting for the user at the other end, Selika’s thoughts moved to her precarious situation. Teylas was playing a very dangerous game standing against the Grand Master. Pravus was not one to be opposed lightly, as many had already discovered. Plagueis had fought the Jedi of Odan-Urr to a virtual standstill on Florrum, eventually forcing their retreat. The Grand Master, however, had ground their planet to dust beneath his boots without real effort or, apparently, a second thought. Plagueis had already, it seemed, been caught up in his wrath as well. All of that meant that Selika still knew that Pravus was a man to be feared, because, whatever the Dread Lord might think, he could very well still win this conflict.
The image quickly coalesced above the transmitter, signifying that the receiver on the other end was ready.
“Darth Pravus, I bring you greetings,” Selika began. “Your Inquisitors have been eliminated, but you still have eyes and ears within Plagueis.”
Selika began to outline the recent events within the Ascendant Clan, giving most, but not all, the pertinent details. Either Pravus or Teylas and the other Clans would end up victorious in the coming conflict, and Selika wanted to make sure that she was still in the good graces of whomever came out on top when the dust finally settled.
After the fallout at the end of Aftermath, Clan Plagueis has regrouped back on Aliso having escaped Grand Master Pravus' wrath. The above fiction, the Plagueis part of Seven Strands that Wally will be releasing this weekend, lays out the path forward fictionally for us for the foreseeable future. Right now, Teylas (who is now retconned from an Anzat to a Falleen! Woo!) has tasked the summit to set forth into the space surrounding the Aliso system to establish a Plagueis Dominion that rules through fear and intimidation. In return, Plagueis receives benefits of the worlds that would fall into our new dominion. These trials for the summit, and membership of Clan Plagueis, are to bring the Plagueis power base back to new heights.
Will your character join one of the summit members teams when heading out into the stars? Will you go on your own to prove your worth to the Dread Lord? Will you remain on Aliso to ensure that another attack can't take place? In conjunction with the events running throughout the three weeks of the Winter Trials, a special competition will also run the length where winners will be determined by the most words written in the Plagueis Clan Run-On: Manifest Destiny. Within that run-on both summit members and regular members alike can establish what your characters are doing based off of the orders of the Dread Lord.
The Plagueis Winter trials will be a 3 week event to help put the pieces together for the Ascendant Clan. Each week is balanced to keep the impact as low as possible, but also fun based on feedback over each event we do. Each summit member has created an event each week for people to enjoy. They will be responsible for grading it, and at the end I will tally everything together to sort an overall winner of the Winter Trials. The events for each week are as follows:
It isn't often that an award at the level of a Ruby Scepter is awarded. However, within Clan Plagueis, exactly that has happened recently! Selika Roh, or as we know him, Slagar, our wonderful proconsul has been recently awarded for all his hard work over the past few months. This award is for more than just his work in Clan Plagueis, but I can't stress enough what a vital, and critical asset he has been at my side since I took over as consul of Clan Plagueis. Slagar has been instrumental since day one as proconsul in helping to shape the activity model, fictional direction, and member interaction Clan Plagueis boasts that has seen us through some really active quarters.
Please read the full recommendation here.
Speaking of taking over: in 16 days (as of this report) I will surpass Braecen Kaeth as the longest serving consul in Clan Plagueis history.
That is all.
Just kidding.
All of you guys are awesome. Seriously. There are so many great people in Clan Plagueis that have made it so worth it over the years to serve you guys. Between the various summit members I've had over my tenure, to all the awesome members who have been really active, to all the members who hang out in our Telegram channel and chat up with all of us. You are all great people, and have made it worth sticking around as consul!
