CNS Rollmaster Report #3: A New Year, A New Age
Happy New Years, my sweet Sadowans! I hope that you have found the first few days of 2017 more or less to your liking, and that you look forward to all the opportunities of the coming months. As always this is your humble Rollmaster bringing you a quick monthly update on the state of the Clan and our wonderful Journeyman and Novitates. Sorry I left you all to hang with all the madness of the holidays and work. However, the Summit and I are working on some fun stuff for you all, including an event that we should hopefully be announcing in a few days!
We have had a recent influx of new members and transfers in Clan Naga Sadow. If there is anything that any of us can do to enhance your experience as new members in Club or Clan, do not hesitate to ask. We have a number of members who are willing to pair with new members to engage in one-on-one mentorship and/or friendship.
I am helping to cook some things in the background, so we are going to keep this Rollmaster’s Report brief. Let’s get to brass tacks!
News and Happenings Across the Brotherhood
A glance at the News page will show a word from the Wiki Tribune and of course a report from our own Proconsul Jedi of the Gray, Sanguinius- including news of an extension on applications for the position of Aedile in House Shar Dakhan. I encourage everybody to apply, once you get done checking out some more of the latest in the club, like the Taldryan Consul report or the regular report from our own Lilith for Devil’s Shroud.
Our Voice has also released a new report and the Justicar has announced the newest draft of the Brotherhood’s Covenant has [gone live]. Click the link there to take a look at the Covenant for yourself. Jac and co have been working hard to get it done, so feel free to leave some love in his latest report/announcement! As long as you are giving the Dark Council a bit of love, check out what our FIST, Drac has detailed has in his shiny report to commemorate the turn of the calender to 2017. I would be remiss if I didn’t point to the Arcona Consul report I suppose. On a final note, Farrin has stopped cracking the whip long enough to put out a new report with good news. In case you didn’t see, the latest audit of the Shadow Academy is completed. Exciting times.
Now that I have given you a number of links to follow on to reports and news, you should be well-informed enough for us to move forward. Onward to the core of the report!
Master-Student Program
I will probably hit on this during each report. The Master-Student program can be very rewarding for both lower-ranked members and our ”older” members. I can speak from experience that my former Master and my then-Rollmaster and Quaestor all worked to make my early days in Clan Naga Sadow and Shar Dakhan very enjoyable. The master-apprentice system is the lifeblood of our system. New members can be paired with an experienced member who has been right where they are at now. Our Knights, Equites and Elders went through that crucible and made it out to the other side. I urge our pre-JM4 members to use their experience, freely given to help, and you just might make a new friend!
If you are interested in taking part as either Master or Student, click this handy link and fill out the form. As openings become available, your friendly, neighborhood Rollmaster will pair members up. It is a tad more detailed than the previous iterations of the form, but this just helps my office to match members together better, so no fear!
Competitions
Things have cooled a little, but there are the current runnings of Brotherhood Boasts and Brotherhood Bloopers. Though before you look at those, I would suggest taking a look again at the Rogue One Celebration comps! There is a competition to create an NPC for the Godless Matron and the FIST’s office is running a flash game series as well. Our own Qyreia is running a holiday-themed competition I encourage you to take part in: Go on and tell us how your character spends the holidays! Speaking of Sadowan-run competitions, Mactire is running a fiction competition as well involving the course of a dream about killing Locke. Get out there and support your fellows and show folks in the other units how awesome you all are! Journeyman Activity Report
Of course, what would a Rollmaster Report be without detailing the progress and activities of our Journeyman. Now, I know that normally I would be listing just our pre-Knight Journeyman, but I stumbled upon a thought recently. It could seem discouraging for some, that as soon as fourth-tier Journeyman is reached, the trek becomes an uphill affair. No longer are you directed by a fancy little checklist to tell you the path you must tread. It is not so, nor should your efforts go silent! As such, I have included ALL our Journeyman on the activity log for this month. I know this is usually just a general “hey, I can’t report what I can’t see. Tell me if there is anything I missed…” but I did want to say this much. If any of our members, from top down, are missing ways they can better participate then by all means, contact myself or any members of your House Summits. We will be glad to assist.

Monthly Member Interview
With the holidays, I didn’t have the time to compile one of the two interviews I have done with a couple of our members. Look back at this section during my normal January Rollmaster report to enjoy an interview with one of our clanmates!
Closing remarks
Hopefully you all enjoyed your holidays (assuming you celebrated) and the rest of your month (if not) since our last report. Things are a bit slower with SPECIAL having wrapped up, and the Rogue One competitions wrapping up. Though, if you haven’t taken the opportunity to compete, take a shot at it. After all, the only bad opportunity is a missed opportunity.
The storylines of the club keep churning in the background, and there will be some more opportunities to influence the Clan storyline in your own ways in the next few weeks, and I hope to see you all take part. I urge you all to keep pushing forward, to keep partaking in competitions, gaming, and fun talk across Telegram. I am sitting in my seat, serving you all in whatever capacities I am able. I hope that you will all be able to enjoy the things the club has to offer!
The Dark Brotherhood is a great place to be. This is because of you all! You all make this place a great place to come back to at the end of the day. All you have to do is to take part. Look to myself, to Sang or Locke, your respective Quaestors and Aediles, or even your Battle Team leaders- we are all here for you.
