How goes things on the front, Sadowans? As we are barreling into the last days of Great Jedi War XIII: Discord, I figured I would take a moment to touch on some of the things that we have been seeing, and just give another wee overview on the venues you have to ensure this war is one that will be absolutely sadowned.
Without delay, let us get into it so that together, folks can keep rocking the bins and shaking the rafters!
So I have been keeping a pulse on the Clan as we have been participating so far and I have to say that I am quite pleased with how all of you have been doing. Sad bit is that I can not expound on how much and what sort of activity I am seeing in great detail in this particular report, seeing as how my Consul reports go out to the Brotherhood as the whole and competition is what drives us at Vendetta/War time. I will have to save that little tidbit for the mailing lists!
However, I will say right here that I have been happy with each entry that I see. Some folks have taken to the field with absolute gusto. I am sure that some folks have been a little less spirited than others, but each entry and every attempt is another show of Sadowan superiority and more proof that we are stronger as a Clan than we are as individuals. I have said it before, you all are what make this Clan, and I want the rest of the Brotherhood to see you the same way that I see you: a bunch of talented and enthusiastic individuals.
I will of course be keeping all ye Sadowans well in the know as we roll into the final stretch. Between my last email and even just today I have observed an influx and I hope that you will keep that momentum building and riding strong through to the very end!
I am going to keep the list a bit shorter than I like, but longer than mere bullets, so…
In the Fiction Bin (so you have the choice if you only want to tick off the bins to turn that board GREEN:
In the Multiple Objective Prompt you will be writing about either fighting against Mutineers within the Principate, or defending your Clan leaders from assassins. Of course, this means that you will also be voting on how the storyline develops (read the prompt and instructions for more), so I urge you to choose wisely!
For those who like me who enjoy the ACC (even if I feel I am kind of rubbish at it), we have the Combat Writing.
In the Phase Two Gaming Bin, we have three options to pick from. One is easy if you again, want to just turn that participation board green, but I can say that I have enjoyed working on all three! They include:
Taking part in a bit of puzzle fun (well, I like puzzles of sorts) in the Laser Overload phone game. [Warning: it is very ad heavy -_-]
You can also show off a bit of your “hero shooter” prowess in the Overwatch PVP Ladder. All you have to do is join the queue in the Fist-o-Matic, aka Fister Roboto and you can get matched up with folks for a bit of 1 on 1 dueling with the Overwatch character of your choice!
Prove yourself in pursuits and hunts with others in the Dauntless Scavenger Hunt, in a sort of Fortnite-Monster-Hunter Free to Play mashup where you...do the hunting and the pursuing of monsters. Yesh!
For those with a more graphically-oriented bent, Phase Two also has the aptly named….GRAPHICS BIN! We have two options to pick from this time:
Will the Principate encounter new friends? New enemies? Rivals? Lovers? You get a chance to explore just that in the New Friends? graphics competition. No need to make it quite as Days of our Lives as all that, but it is a chance to s-h-i-n-e as only S-A-D-O-W and Y-O-U can!
Sway the Hearts and Minds of the people as you craft propaganda! Yeah, no really clever bit for this one. I mean, I pretty much gave it away in the first sentence.
Of course, if you already have that graphics bent or have your art supplies out, I highly suggest you take a swing at both. After all, Clusters of Graphite will help you toward grinding those Society ranks, as well!
The Miscellaneous Bin is where everything else goes that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the things. The first of these competitions is a quick enough way to turn that board GREEN. (Yeah, I am probably still going to keep trilling on that a bit. Gives me happy butterflies to see you lot doing well!):
The first of the opportunities in the miscellanous bin is an old staple. Sith, Force Disciples, Mercenaries and Loyalists alike have a chance to Hunt the Jedi. At the behest of the Master at Arms, help to find a member using three clues!
In New Acquisitions you will be describing new tech found in the field during the War! Said item will be delivered to and researched by the Arx Capital Exchange, so provide the details on what goodies we find out in the field!
Or if you prefer, you can show your knowledge of the The Story So Far by taking a course in the Shadow Academy. This is another quick way to get a bit more participation in and gain more points and credits for yourself and the Clan!
There is also the chance to take a second bite at the puzzle angle of the War in Sudooku II where you complete a sudoku puzzle with a very Star-wars-y twist!
The War has marched on, and I hope that you have not let the Event-Long bin sit untouched.
For those still in the brackets, don’t forget to wrap up your matches in Jedi Academy and Heroes of the Storm. I know we have a handful of members who are still active in brackets, so I hope you will also join me in cheering on our Sadowans as they represent the Clan and the Sadowan Empire! Of course, you can still (and I know that some have been doing so) take part in a bit of PVE/PVO with the other clans in the Cluster Race.
Don’t forget the classic Battle Plan, Comic creation and the slightly more unique gift crafting in the Multimedia Bin.
The Miscellaneous Bin also has a couple of interesting opportunities. One of my favorite ‘fun’ comps has to be the chance to Create a Mav comp where you are tasked with making a valid character sheet (that he may or may not use) for our Grand Master. You can also write Letters to home during the War or to create an audiobook presentation depicting one of a number of events of the War. For those who enjoy Ior at least bear with) work in the Wiki you can also create [a page for a person from the Collective or the Principate.
Fiction, as I said in our last report, is an area of strength for the Clan. We are still plugging away at the Theaters of War competition via the Discourse. I encourage you to take the time to read over our Clan-wide Run-On thread for the story so far and to make your mark. We have a bit over a week for folks to get posts in, so there is plenty of time to get in on that noise if it is your jam!
I still feel that Run-Ons give folks their own unique chances to shine, and some of them have been for msyelf the height of the roleplaying fun when I get to write with my fellow Sadowans/DB’ers! And if Clan-wide is not quite your bag? You can explore a more focused narrative in the Small-Team fiction competition which operates similar to the small-team ROs we have seen in past events.
I am going to keep those bits I touched on last time and tacking on the things that have turned up since then!
The Justicar reminds people to play fair in the War
Great Jedi War XIII:Discord is still rolling forward.**
The Voice’s office has released a Too-Long-Didn’t-Read for the Great Jedi War. Well, okay so Wally calls it a Fiction Recap. And it apparently according to his synopsis answers some questions and things. Probably a great thing to check out if you haven’t given it an eyeball already.
Ah yes, and the Aedile of House Marka Ragnos has released a short report chatting up the War as well.
The Grand Master briefly spoke on the close of Phase One of the War as well as the opening of the Second Phase.
Our FIST gave us not one, not two but a whole three bits about gaming during the War.
**The Voice, Marick “Wally” Tyris has provided another plot summary for folks to get a better grip on what has been going on so far in the War narrative thus far.
There is still work to be done, Sadowans! Even in the last 24 hours I have been seeing little bursts of activity! This is very awesome to see, and I hope that you all are putting your game faces on and shaking things up!
With but a week (or so) to go, I am sure that some folks will be getting their entries together. We stand together with you, Sadowans. This is your time, right here. This is your time to shine. This is your time to stand up and display the fury, the strength, and the power of Clan Naga Sadow and our empire!
Watch your email boxes, as the Summit will be giving you all some updates in the days leading up to and following the War!
Because together, we will ensure that this War is…
For the Sadowan Empire. For the glory of Sadow! ”Conquest is our destiny; we shall not fail.”
Consul of Naga Sadow
