Up In Smoke

Claudius’s Palace: Ice Lounge, Koudooine

Vos hated this lounge. When Claudius had moved into the former museum complex this had been an exhibit space for a cultural tradition of carving their history into the walls of the ice caves they resided in. The room had been crafted with a massive ten meter tall chamber with lighting behind the walls of ice to accent the relief carved into them. It was a culmination of the society's cultural accomplishments detailing their survival to eventual conquest of the elements.

Now, it was a lounge with a bar for Claudius’s elite guests…and it was freezing. Vos had taken one of the offered heated parkas the moment he entered the lounge. While he pulled the hood up he still felt like his horns were going to freeze off. He sidled up to the bar, which thankfully had heated bar stools, and motioned for the bartender to make him his usual. The bartender took out an ice pick and went over to a section of the wall and chipped the head off a figure of some significance a millenia ago into a tumbler before filling it with his liquor of choice. Vos felt his body begin to relax as the warming liquor ran down his throat.

“Sir, I believe your guests have arrived,” the bartender said, pointing towards Gaius the Hutt and a grizzled looking human in a worn leather trench coat. Vos sighed, why couldn’t they have met him in his office with its heaters?

Summary:

• Details of the investigation into the Tiure clan are slowly emerging but it's clear that Ixtal Noxus is dead.
• The Hutts are concerned about Scholae Palatinae's investigations and are seeking to mitigate the damage by meeting with the Emperor (read the chapter for a major surprise!)
• Thran hosts a guest that may have significant impact on the future of Scholae Palatinae.

Commentary:

Based upon feedback from the Dark Times Saga we're doing the Hutt Expansion in an accelerated manner to ensure people get a 'full story experience' within a year. This represents the first half of the story with the second targeted to come at the end of the year.

The competitions will run for two weeks with both Act 1 and Act 2 competitions available for the full time so you can manage your time as you like. Whether that's bingeing at the start or taking a 'snack' every day.

It's also time to reveal all the original cards that were produced that allowed me and Thran to visualize the story as we began drafting it and who the key players would be.
