“My Lord, as you can see there is not much left of the city,” Raleien said, pointing at the cluster of tents and bread lines that stood where Adoniram Tower had once pierced the sky. Kamjin looked upon the remains of the city and, had he had the heart, would have wept. Hills of ruined buildings remained, slowly being cleared away from the colossal ore crawlers that had been brought in to strip the land bare.
The ground shuddered slightly. It reminded Kamjin of the way a dying man’s body would shudder as its spirit escaped its mortal shell. “There’s still some pockets of minor resistance but the troops are…” Raleien paused, looking at the dust caked faces waiting in a nearby line to get updates on loved ones. “I can’t do this anymore, Kam. I’m a soldier, not a politician. I should be out there, where the fighting is.”
Kamjin saw the conviction upon his Viceroy’s face. He nodded, no word needed to be given. Raleien saluted, crisply, and left to join a passing platoon of soldiers. Kamjin watched as his loyal blueberry went to the life he was most comfortable with. Shrugging, he turned back to the assorted Imperial officers around him and went about his tour.
“Look, it’s the Emperor,” a woman’s voice cried out. The huddled masses looked bewildered, unaccustomed to being in the presence of their overlords. Kamjin sighed inwardly and flashed a beaming smile. As he walked closer to them they encroached upon him like moths to the flame, ignorant of the danger they were in.Their cries overlapped each other.
“Lord, what will happen to our city?”
“Will the Children return?”
“Have you seen my son?” The original woman pleaded, pressing a photograph upon the Emperor. Kamjin took it, looked at it for a moment, and then handed it to a nearby trooper. Raising his hands, the crowd fell silent.
“I have been working tirelessly to ensure a safe and secure system. Look, even now, the object that brought such terror upon you is being repurposed to serve us,” Kamjin said, as the massive crystal asteroid was lifted into view. Several transports, their tow cables taunt against the crystal sphere, began a slow climb towards orbit. “Even now we are constructing a station that will devour any ship or object that enters our system without our blessing,” Kamjin finished, closing his hand into a fist. The crowd cheered and Kamjin took his leave.
Kamjin strolled along the open catwalk to where Thran was busy talking with several technicians. “Are you finally done with that pompous tour? You know there’s nothing worth saving down there,” Thran said, not bothering to look at Kamjin.
“Raleien has decided to return to active duty. We’re going to need to accelerate our plans,” Kamjin said, ignoring the jab. “Are you ready to take a more active role within the clan?”
Thran dismissed the technicians. “Yes, but we’re going to be playing with fire with this new super weapon we’ve constructed.”
“That doesn’t matter as long as it works,” Kamjin said.
“It’ll work, we just need to test it,” Thran replied. Kamjin, glancing over Thrans shoulder, flicked his fingers and sent one of the technicians flying over the guard rail. He tumbled head over feet as he fell towards the massive crystalline powered laser web. His body distingirated the moment it made contact with the laser web.
“Looks like it works,” Kamjin said, turning to leave Thran. As he left he wondered why the technician's face looked familiar. Shrugging he continued on, he knew if it was important it would come to him.
Greetings Palatinaean’s! My if it hasn’t been a while since my last report. So much to share, so little time, even though I am writing this with all the time in the world. There’s quite a bit of ground to cover, some of it old news and some new.
Before I dive into the details, let me lead off with how proud I am of each and every one of you. Participation takes many forms and whether you submitted to all the competitions, all the bins, one competition, or added your voice in support (publicly or privately) - Thank you!
Competitions like this are for all of you to show off your talents and your interests while participating in the overall Dark Jedi Brotherhood storyline.
Overall we took sixth place out of the seven clans. This is still a great pay day for the clan and we had several major accomplishments.
Both Adept Thran Occasus-Palpatine and myself were featured in the Top 10 overall scorers; which Thran being featured in the closing fiction.
We also had several members receiving Novae during this competition.
Gold Novae:
Silver Novae
Bronze Novae
The Summit has been in discussions following our finalized results and we have some new strategies we’ll try next time to simplify the engagement on the Run-On and other COOP activities.
Overall, as judged by our first place finish in the COOP fiction, the key metric is to have fun. With that, I encourage you all to complete the GJW Survey which is currently open. Your feedback is anonymous and I assure you the Dark Council and Consuls are eager to hear your voice on how you felt the GJW was run and areas of improvement.
As promised, Scholae Palatiane is moving to Seraph as well as rebuilding our system! Coming from the survey conducted in 2021 you’ll see a focus on House level competitions in addition to Clan level competitions.
The purpose of this is to allow the Houses to begin growing their own identities again and no longer be fully under the heel of the Clan. With our system fully under our control it's now time to begin branching out.
As Thran and I have discussed, a single system does not an Empire make. Please take the time to engage in these competitions and help shape the future destiny of the Clan and your Houses.
You’ll also notice that we have a new superweapon, thanks to the captured crystal asteroid. The Imperial Strategic Armed Laser Array Citadel or SARLAC for short.
This idea was born from a discussion about a venus flytrap and a Mario Chain-Chomp. Basically, our new armored station will capture and ‘eat’ any ship that comes into our system without being identified as friendly. No more will we allow invaders like the Children of Mortis to enter our space unchallenged.
Below are the technical details.
The Imperial Strategic Armed Laser Array Citadel (or SARLAC) is a 3,000-meter diameter space station designed with superior defensive capabilities, making use of purified ascendant crystal based technology for its primary armament. It is hexagonal in shape and at the core of the station is a massive focused ascendant crystal laser matrix, which is capable of shredding and destroying destroyer sized vessels that pass through it. It is also armed with numerous turbolasers, ion cannons, gravity well projectors, and tractor beams. It has shielding and hull strength similar to a destroyer class ship, as well as space for up to ten squadrons of starfighters.
Armament
In addition, we’ve acquired Ascendant Crystal Turbolasers which have been slotted aboard the ISN Palpatine.
As such, the previous Revenant Minelayer from last year’s RoS has been relocated to the Warspite
While this was announced earlier, Raleien has needed to step down due to real-life constraints. He did not go far and returned to House Acclivis Draco. As such, I’ve made the (foolish) decision to promote Thran (the Usurper) to the position of Proconsul.
Thran and have worked together on possessions and other projects for a while now and we have a very complimentary leadership style and way of tackling challenges. As such, in collaboration with Thran, we’ve made some changes in our roles and responsibilities.
Consul:
I will be focusing primarily on Clan wide activities. Such as major story arcs (e.g. Dark Times Saga level events), collaboration with external Clans (e.g., ProBowl VI - #beatkamjin2electricboogaloo), engagement and dissemination of Dark Council activities, and recognition.
Proconsul:
Thran will be focusing primarily on House development, assisting the Quaestors with their day-to-day activities, generating competitions for Scholae Palatiane outside of the major events, and overseeing our wiki activities with Rayne (and others) to ensure all the great work we’re doing is enshrined for others to reference.
In addition, to play up the Kamjin/Thran feud dynamic, Thran will be issuing reports with his perspective of clan event fictions. For example, the fiction above, will have a Thran POV when he publishes his report.
Thran and I have already mapped out the remainder of the year with plenty of time for our big events, which I’ll tease below, without overwhelming you all with competitions. This does mean that our Feud with Tally is going to move from Q4, 2022 to Q1, 2023.
There has been so much recognition since my last report! Let me stress, this is why I keep spreadsheets so I don’t lose sight of all this wonderful activity!
Promotion
Sapphire Blade
Anteian Cross
Dark Cross
Congratulations to all those who were recognized this quarter! Fantastic job each and everyone of you!
One further note, I’ve added into our quarterly review a process to identify time since last promotion to ensure we’re reviewing our Equites timely to identify promotion opportunities.
I’m going to hit on just a couple key things of interest.
If you’re like me you like to see all the new possessions that are available to the different clans. But if you’re even more like me you want to see the new shiny possessions available; Capital Booster Release
At least one of these, the Imperial Escort Carrier you’ll already see within our Fleet 1 as Thran is particularly fond of this ship.
Alethia Archenksova continues the development of the Roleplaying society. As you can tell from Discord there is a desire to increase the number of participations and utilization of the Event feature is helping to draw attention to these sessions.
If you’re looking for a Dark Council level support role to broaden your engagement with the Brotherhood and learn some leadership level experience I would highly recommend applying. I’ve worked with Archenksova for a couple years now in the Chamber of Justice and I can hands down tell you they will help expand your thinking and prepare you for higher level roles within the Brotherhood.

A fantastic first question from one of our newer members. I have quite a few thoughts on the GJW, most of which I’ve enshrined in the GJW Survey and I encourage you all to do the same.
I’ll start by complimenting Master Idris Adenn for weaving together another masterful story that encompasses a lot of moving pieces. Even more so, he incorporated my silly notion that there was a mother hidden in the symbol when the Children of Mortis were first teased.
This is a great lesson in listening to the membership of the DJB, making adjustments where possible (without sacrificing the overall story), and allowing a joke to really become its own hype train that saw numerous people and leaders joining in to keep the upcoming GJW front and center in everyone’s mind.
Not many people would be willing to do that and it’s a wonderful talent to see on the Dark Council.
I’ll further complement Adept Rajhin Cindertail who came into the Fist role right before the start of the GJW and was able to run several effective and engaging gaming events. I look forward to seeing how he continues to improve upon this recent success in future GJW/RoS events.
There are a few areas of opportunity that we should continue to explore. These are not unique to the GJW but rather are reminders from all competitions.
Now, it’s not enough to just say these things. I’m committed to working on them with the Dark Council once we receive all the feedback and look into planning for next year’s event!
One of the items I instituted as Proconsul was an annual Calendar of events that the Summit has access to and we discuss regularly. This basically maps from GJW/RoS to GJW/RoS.
Currently we’re working on Clan/House competitions. September you’ll see ProBowl VI kick-off and continue through October.
November we’ll focus again on Clan/House development competitions before kicking off Sithmas. This year it’ll be “The Hutt that Stole Sithmas”. I’ll let you all ponder what that means.
Q1, 2023 is when Zappy and I are discussing the CSP/Tally Feud to occur. This time it’ll be serious and possessions will be on the line. After this point it gets fuzzier as one of the items of discussion will be does GJW/RoS run earlier in the year.
Thran and I do have high level plot events slated but I won’t be sharing those at this time.
Well I just pushed a person into it. I would recommend X-wings as a good starting point. They’d probably snap like little poprocks.
There are some that would champion this position. To me, it’s not that they don't serve a purpose anymore, it’s what purpose can we assign them?
I see two critical roles within the House that are a focal point for our Summit.
I have extremely fond memories of the Houses from when they were first created. While they have since evolved from those beginnings it did give a sense of pride to be in one House versus another as I saw my character aligned to the Royal Guard image of Acclivis Draco.
More critically, it’s giving people the opportunity to lead people. Work through those interpersonal opportunities, run competitions, plan a plot line, that are all necessary to serve as Proconsul or Consul.
What I want to prevent, and what the Houses enable, is that as people grow their careers within the DJB or leave due to real-life that there’s a gap in continuity. That the members suddenly go “what happened to this whole thing we were doing?” and check out because of too much turn-over.
You should continue to see more activities at the House level over the coming month as Thran begins engaging closely with Aldaric and Reiden.
I especially liked the Lego competition. Here’s mine for fun.
I know, this is a long report, thank you for reading it till the end. This is what happens when you don’t publish a mid-GJW report and you end up with two months worth of information to share.
Please take part in all the competitions that are underway. While it’s a great way to be active, get recognized, and earn some credits it will be shaping the future of your clan!
Until next time, stay Sithy my friends!
As always, I have an "open door" policy, please DM me on Discord at any time.

"Quack!"
Sweet report, Enjoy the SARLaC. :) Please don't eat my ship.
Great report! Senpai noticed me
Aawww Yeah, the SARLaC is siiiiiick. I can't wait to see all the stuff we can toss into it. Like the contents of this warehouse, which is mostly stolen furniture, for example! Great Report, Kam. Looking forward to all the work we do together!
Nice Sir!
Great report Kam! Things are looking good for the future. Though, you might want to get some new locks for your office. As Thran and Rayne now have a new toy, who knows what mischief they are going to get into!
No locks can stop the Bureau Bandits!
