Introduction

Greetings, Imperials! Welcome to this month’s Consul Report where we talk RoS results and Clan Restructuring!

News

To start off, the RoS results were finally released this past weekend with CSP coming second to last. While we may not have placed in the top three, our participation was stellar in comparison to the last vendetta event. On top of that, we had two members, Dante and Kamjin, participate in all the bins. In addition, we had some members get some novae, so a big congrats to them! Well done, CSP! The Summit and I are very proud to see the Clan step up this year. Though it was a very different RoS than what we’re used to, it was a good learning experience and a great way to get to know new people outside of the Clan. The latest fiction for the RoS has been released and can be found here.

Another item to address is the restructuring of the Clan. After much discussion over a proposal offered to the Summit by our PCON, it has been decided to retire House Empire’s House Chosen in exchange for some historical and cherished Houses of the past, Acclivis Draco and Caliburnus. As someone who was a former member of Caliburnus, I am very happy to see the House brought back to life again. More detail about this can be found in Kamjin’s recent report. Also, because of this, we are in need of a Quaestor for Acclivis Draco as Dek has gone from being the QUA of Empire’s Chosen to that of Caliburnus. Details about what we are looking for in a QUA can be found in this news post here.

Last but definitely not least, our favorite no-nose Aedile, Xantros, has stepped down from the position. His reasoning can be found in his last report. Though Xantros is unable to communicate via Telegram, you can reach out to him in the Clan Discord. I would like to thank Xantros for his service as AED. I know he’ll continue to be our favorite Spammaster within the Clan.

Ask The Shadow

Rayne asks:

• What happens when the Unstoppable Force meets the Immovable Object?
  Probably will end up going around it? Depends on the angle and momentum and...ah how I miss physics class.

Kamjin asks:

• What does the Shadow know?
  ”Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows...” Talk about nostalgia. Loved that radio show as a kid when dad played it on his record player. A good trip down memory lane.

• When will the Ewoks be done roasting for dinner?
  Never! Any roasting of my minions is punishable by death or being locked up with Thran for a month. This is my decree!

• What’s your personal position on the changes in CSP over the past year?
  I’m honestly happy to see where CSP has come over the past year from the changes. Though some were better than others, it’s a sign of growth and development in the Clan. Things that didn’t work well, I’ve learned from. The new input of voices by various summit members has taught me a lot as well, and have contributed to some changes that have helped the Clan along. The most recent change of restructuring the Clan I think is my favorite as I’m happy to see the old Houses being revived and the direction CSP will be going with it all fictionally.

• What is your favorite #Askkamjin?

Raleien asks:

• What’s your single greatest achievement and greatest learning experience as Consul or in past leadership positions?
  This is a bit of a hard one, but I think my greatest achievement is a toss-up between CSP really doing great this year in the RoS and when I founded and ran Battleteam Tacitus Athanasius. I’m really not someone who likes to boast, but those are some things I’ve been most proud of during my leadership time in the DJB. As to the greatest learning experience, that’s a real hard one. I think my whole time as CON has been one great learning experience. Especially when Kamjin started to mentor me with his experience. I had a lot to learn and re-assess. As I said in Kamjin’s question about changes, each change has taught me different things, showing me where things fail or succeed and how to proceed from both failure and success. Though there are still some things I struggle with that I’ve been encouraged to overcome (such as not being so shy to talk in other DJB chats), I’m hoping to continue to improve and learn from my remaining time as CON.

• How does your character feel about non Force users in the Clan?
  Shadow doesn’t discriminate against non-Force users. In fact, she was married to one for a few years before he was killed in a Meraxis ambush. Her parents were non-Force users (although her father was slightly sensitive), and she loved them unconditionally till her sister murdered them. For Shadow, everyone is useful in their own way and has their own set of skills and gifts to contribute to the Empire. Loyalty to the Clan is what matters most to her as the Clan has been like a family to her ever since she fled some Jedi-wannabes that had taken her from her family for training. She will do anything to keep the Clan safe, and that includes severely dealing with those who dare betray her and the Empire.

• What is the status of CSP in-universe following the Rite?
  Some of this was pointed out in Kamjin’s recent fiction, but we’re still discussing what’s next for CSP. We have an outline of what’s going to happen next fictionally continuing on from the RoS and also recent Clan events.

• Do you have a favourite competition type?
  Puzzles. I love doing puzzles. Things that test the brain and challenge it against the clock is something I really love.

Conclusion

Phew! A long report, but one with new things and great things. As I said earlier, I am very excited about the turn-out we had for this year’s vendetta event. I know many of us had hoped to place. However, just the improvement itself is something to be proud of and to build up from. In addition, I am super excited to see the progression of our returning Houses. I’m also very happy to see many of our members awarded and promoted. Very well done, everyone! Truly.

I want to thank the Summit for all they do and have done. Kamjin, Dek, and Reiden have been phenomenal to work with, and I am very happy to have the privilege to do so. I’m looking forward to working on the future stuff we have planned including the Clan story and the Clan Fleet.

Lastly, I want to thank you, members of Clan Scholae Palatinae, for all you’ve done and continue to do. It’s been very exciting, especially, to see old members returning to the Clan with their own experiences and input to offer. It’s great to see how the Clan continues to progress whether it be as a whole or individually. Let’s all keep moving forward and growing together so that when the next vendetta comes, we’ll be ready to shine once more!
