Welcome to another Proconsul report, this time being a bit lighter and much more activity and opportunity focused. As a clan, we just had two back to back months of intense competitions so we want to highlight this activity, keep it going, but also not overwhelm you further. So check out below for a fictional conclusion to the Words & War event, a bit of a summary from Pro Bowl and talks about the future of multi-clan events, and some opportunities available this month.
No youtube music to be included this time, but if you are an Eminem fan like myself I recommend you check out his surprise album that was released this week: Kamikaze. I found it to be a great listen, but I biased as I have long been a fan of his music. Check it out...right after this report :P
The results of this event were announced in Eli’s report a couple weeks ago, however I’d like to talk a little bit about what we saw. Without a doubt activity dropped during July, this is not an unique event - summer months always see a decline in activity numbers across the Brotherhood. Perhaps it has something to do with all that fresh air I keep hearing about…
Regardless, there were certain things that we learned from the event. Many of these have to do with organization, marketing, and time management skills - all sorts of sexy topics to discuss. But I think it’s important to highlight that no event, regardless of its participation level, is ran without some learning. To do so is to truly fail as a competition organizer and a club leader. So our team has learned from the event and made some long term choices on how we will be running events so that they are better representative of what you are looking for, better advertised, and not being scheduled with so many other things backing onto it in addition to a historically dry month.
That said, we do have the conclusion to the event below.
“Well...things kind of got dicey.” Bale’s tone lacked any kind of remorse for the situation. “You see-”
“Where’s their commander?!” Raiju almost seemed to pause with each word.
“Dead, bastard pulled pistol and shot me.” Bale was quick to respond, again lacking concern to his voice. “We’ve clear the base now and are heading back.”
“What of the body? Is anyone aware we did this?” Dante was quick to interject at this point, but immediately the mercenary broke into laughter.
“Who cares? These boys will be easy for us to clean up.”
Immediately the holo display ended as the projector in the Nautolan’s palm disappeared into a clenched fist and cracked under the pressure. No sooner had the holo ended and a large shot was heard firing off from the direction of the Elayan forces before the westernmost juggernaut took a direct hit to its nose, bringing the mechanical behemoth to the ground in an instance. As blaster fire was immediately returned from the Scholae line, an orange blade ignited in the hand of the Grand Vizier before he called out to the nearby comrades.
“No matter what, we hold this line!”
The above is an excerpt from the conclusion to Words & War. When we started Words & War we have the arrangement that participation would be the deciding factor between if Maqor or Dammalus would be conquered by our forces. Unfortunately, as was mentioned above, we didn’t see participation for the event as we had hoped and therefore just like our clan activity - the expansion of Scholae has dipped as well. Neither Dammalus nor Maqor were conquered and this has left an opening for Elayan forces to take a strategically important piece of the moon. Not only this, but in catering to membership input on the storyline; we made another arrangement. This update actually has several authors attached to it as we took the winning entries of each fiction event and used them to directly impact the story.
This not only had the unintended consequences of straining our alliance with the Elayan forces, but it also lead to the death of a Palatinaen as well.
Thanks Oba- I mean, Bale….
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that Pro Bowl III came and went this month. This was a fantastic experience for our clan and I’m really impressed and excited about the results. As was mentioned above, participation tends to dip in the summer months and we experienced that ourselves with the Words & War event - however, we quickly bounced back with the Pro Bowl and that was exciting to see!
If you missed it, you can find the results here
Congrats to everyone on Team ARQ, I saw many Palatinaens stepping up and taking charge in our group chat and I firmly believe it was the great spirit of kinship shown by all on the team that delivered our win.
Each and every one of you that participated should be proud of how your team did - and those that missed out on the fun should look forward to next year as I’d happily have CSP rejoin the event if there is an invitation extended.
I think over the past few months Eli, Mune and myself have clearly shown that we are receptive to opportunities to work, compete, and play with other clans. Scholae Palatinae will remain open to the possibilities of future events with other clans as we don’t want to end up in a silo. If you, as a member or other unit leader, has an idea that you want to float by as a possibility - we are happy to receive it and I personally look forward to both large and small scale events that could be arranged. So hit us up.
Hot off the presses for September! The Combat Master has launched a new event for the ACC called Operation: Tempered Iron
This is a great opportunity for all our members to get some ACC experience, start building momentum for the Rites of Supremacy later this year, and earn themselves some merit and recognition for their dossier through their ACC prowess. For the next several months, we will be taking things easy on the clan level as we approach the RoS (...I hope I can mention that, if not my character is dead already so what’s it matter ;D) so this is one of your best opportunities to get in some regular activity before the clan’s halloween competitions and then the RoS. So get out there, hit em hard, and tap in with the ACC’s newest judge (our own Mune) if you have any ACC questions.
This past week the Fist released a new report that detailed many big changes. There has been recent changes to both the Rites of Combat & the GMRG. PLEASE read this report. It’s important, I promise.
Additionally, due to the struggles the BGL had in the last couple months: the BGL format will be changing. Not going away, but changing. This includes a sped up conclusion to the current season and a number of new (and better) changes for next season. Sign up for this season’s conclusion below:
In addition to the gaming news above, there currently is a chance to add a new game to our accepted platforms. Warframe is being tested right now. Check out the competition HERE
That wraps up this report. Should you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding the material above, please contact me directly at [Log in to view e-mail addresses] but make sure you ask for Belarius... kthxbye
