Devil's Shroud Report #2: No Soup for You!
Hello all, and welcome to the second February report (even though the first report was technically on the last day of January). On the whole, the DJB has been somewhat quiet, with your standard fare of competitions being run while the CNS crew continues its odd assortment of banter in Telegram and e-mails both. The biggest news this month came from Grand Master Pravus, with the complete story of behind and leading into the purge of the Jedi and Undesirables.
It was also sent down the pipe for the Battle Teams to have a fictional “direction,” as it were: a specific mission or purpose to our group. After some deliberation with the folks on Telegram, we have decided to adopt the following (subject to change as necessary):
In theory, Battle Team Devil's Shroud is the brains of House Shar Dakhan: a machine honed and built to gather intelligence for its many aspirations and projects. In reality, it is about as "elite" as a group of drunken Hutts, made up of the oddest assortment of persons that Naga Sadow has to offer. The motley crew is made up of people from all corners of the spectrum – from mercenaries, to interrogation-savvy Jedi, to dark and brooding Sith – each with their own motivations and loyalties. It is not as a team that they are exceptional, but rather in their individuality, able to complete the various tasks set before them using their unique skills and backgrounds to effect a successful mission. Not everyone can stand out amongst the Shroud, only the best of us… the Devil inside.

DJB Newsy Things
There is a metric crap-ton of competitions right now, some of which are coming up on their deadlines. Check your Administration section and see if you’re subscribed to any that need that quick-finish; because competition organizers like to see the subscribers actually participate. I know I would take 100% participation over having thirty subscriptions. See them all here.
There will also be a Devil’s Shroud-exclusive parent competition coming out later this week (hopefully). There’ll be fiction, gaming, and maybe even a trivia thing if I can come up with a suitable theme. Keep your eyes open; I’ll send a notification to your e-mails when she’s up and goin’.
I can only report what I see. If I missed something, give me a heads up and I will be glad to update it! All items dated by time of last BTL report. Also, I put them in alphabetical order, and made a couple special mentions therein. Huzzah!
Since joining early this month, Aul has been an impressive force as a new face. Judging by the Clusters of Fire, I think our hardcore gamers have some competition in the GMRG coming their way. I’m very happy to see this fellow join us, and hit the ground running as he has. Keep it up Aul!
Leeadra :
Quo has been staggering my inbox lately. Since rejoining the DJB in January, he’s competed in thirty two competitions, done more than a few Shadow Academy courses (some of which go back to 2010), and has clearly done a bit of writing with all those Clusters of Ice! He has been impressing a good number of folk, and I am happy to count him among our ranks. Good job, and keep it up!
The BTS is unavailable right now, but if you leave your name, number, and a detailed message, we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
As always, if there is anything that I can do to help, feel free to shoot myself an email or Telegram message. I may be unavailable at intervals during the coming months due to real life needs, but rest assured that I will always get back to you when I am able. I can be reached on Telegram (@QyreiaArronen) or email ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]). Keep in touch, stay classy, and I’ll see you all in space.
Respectfully,
Qyreia Arronen, Professional
Battle Team Leader, Devil’s Shroud
