Hello all, and welcome to the March report! As usual, there’s been a lot of things going on around the club and Clan, the former including a plethora of smaller updates, while Naga Sadow has been pursuing Operation: Firestorm with gusto. Our Battle Team also had its own small competition, and I expect that it won’t be the last; but I will go into that further down. That said, let’s get down to brass tacks!

REPORTS

On the Homefront

• Our Consul, Mr. Locke, put out a report some time ago; the most pertinent being the up and coming feud event with Scholae Palatinae in April/May.
• Tasha has taken over as Quaestor of Marka Ragnos with Sang’s elevation to Proconsul, appointing Tarryyhn as her Aedile. Her report covers a bit of the ficitional side of things, as well as general news from our counterpart House. Show thine support!
• Bentre, our own new Aedile, was apparently having some insomnia, and wrote up a report that does similar things to that of the above two. Still worth a look-see, as it goes into things that are more pertinent toward our own chain of command.

Seems to have been a quiet month for our side of the news realm, but the Club at large has been busy as all frackin’ hell.

DJB Newsy Things

• Our Herald - now going by Morgan Sorenn - has put out (teehee) a report that follows much of the usual info. Some new sabers, new robes, and some reminders about custom gear, as well as info about his/her/tree’s own fictional changes. Read it!
• The FIST has put out three updates for the gaming side of things, including changes in Clusters gained from certain platforms. Go check them out here and here, the latter including the tentative addition of The Division to the gaming roster. Gaming Update 2 covers some minor changes with Star Conflict and Destiny. Thankfully, these reports are (mostly) short, so the numbers aren’t so daunting.
• Evant, our Voice of the Brotherhood, has also been busy and come out with two reports. The first introduces a competition that involves - you guessed it - the Undesirables/Jedi purge movement. Considering how much it comes up, I would start noting these things; repetition tends to equal long-term importance. His second report goes more into standard business, especially concerning the long-awaited NPC character sheets. Evant also points out quite a few things concerning character sheets that you should all be reading. Character Sheets are the backbone of your characters, so this stuff is important for you fiction-writing folks.
• The Shadow Academy has put up a form to help them clear up errors within the multitudes of courses that they offer, and reducing inbox spam for all of us. Bookmark this bad boy if you’re an SA junky.
• Betcha didn’t know there was a new SWTOR Telegram channel! Now you do.
• LAST BUT NOT LEAST! The GM has put out two little tidbits for us all. The first is the introduction of a new DJB “holiday”: the Day of the Jac. Most of us likely missed this, but it’s something that will likely be coming around next year. New opportunity for shiny things? I think so! He also gave us some fun, Looney Tunes-inspired competitions that should titillate most of your funny bones. If not, you’re probably too young to remember proper Bugs Bunny, and should be (re-)educated post haste.

COMPETITIONS

Obviously, there are plenty of competitions going on, so I’m going to narrow it down to a few fun ones that stuck out to me. First, we have Operation: Firestorm, which is still ongoing. Get your participation on and show the Dominion who the boss is in Sepros! I mentioned it up top in the Voice’s section, but A New Order’s Rending is something that I know you all can get into. Then, because I’m something of a dice-roller, we’ve got Dungeons & Krayt Dragons, where your character joins the D&D universe. I’m really looking forward to putting myself through the grinder with blade and bow in hand, slaying goblins and amassing hordes of loot and wenches!

Now for the important bit: us! The Shroud’s Battle Team competition is over, graded, and hopefully you’ve gotten your victory (or defeat) carton of ice cream digested by now. The placings were:

• 1st: Leeadra Halcyon
• 2nd (tied): Quo and the late-comer upset, Janos
• 4th (because ties are finicky things): Aul!

You have likely all seen your individual placings in the competitions and, if you haven’t done so, I would highly recommend reading my comments on your fiction submissions. It can only help you in the long run. Overall, I would like to have seen a greater presence from the other BTDS members, but there was a lot of movement this past month. Look forward to more competitions from on high in the future.

I took account of all of Janos’ activities since my last report, despite entering the Shroud only recently. Still, he has an impressive record - especially in gaming - and I’m looking forward to everything he has to offer us, the Clan, and the club.
