And a happy January to all the fine folks in Devil’s Shroud. OPERATION: COBALT is in full swing, and there are a number of fun things coming up and going on in our little corner of the galaxy. I hope you have all been keeping warm your bunks in Myrimdon and abroad. In any case I hope you have been having as much fun of late as this little fellow:

We are all busy right now, so I will jump right into the meat of our report! We have a lot to do in OPERATION: COBALT. We need more troops, we need more intel and we need to stick it to the Dominion! We have to push them back, or risk losing ground. Stand proudly, everyone. We are Naga Sadow, we are strong, and we will succeed. Between competitions, fiction, Shadow Academy courses (I know that I need to get digging into that stuff again) and positions opening throughout the club there are plenty of chances for you all to stand out.

REPORTS

Despite a slow start, things are still rolling in the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. Cethgus announced an opening in the Quaestor's office, Valhavoc releases his final report as FIST, the Dark Brothood's Flash Game Championship is coming up, applications for the Magistrate to the Herald have opened and been extended, there is a shiny Consul/Proconsul Report to read, a Headmaster Report was released- also announcing an opening for Praetor to the Headmaster, and the Deputy Grandmaster released a Holiday-Edition Report!

COMPETITIONS

Of course OPERATION: COBALT is going on, but it isn't everything occurring in our club. Leeadra and myself are running a competition where a person from your past begs for help, there is a game comp for lazy folks and Qyreia is running a poetry competition. I have taken over an old monthly competition series previously run by Atra starting with a new monologue comp. I also have a competition coming up where you investigate and resolve the case of a missing member of our Summit. Also, the Grand Master's Invitational Tournament is drawing to a close, so be sure to cheer on your chosen (of the remaining combatants) champion! Don't forget such club staples as the monthly Gorefest! I haven't even touched on everything coming up and going on. Take a look for yourself to see a full listing of our running/upcoming competitions!

I would first like to give a pat on the back to both Leeadra and Bentre for being as active as they are while still maintaining their normal lives, be it school and/or work. That we are no longer simply participating in competitions, but creating them is a good sign for the Battle Team.

That said, I have been keeping tabs on the members of our little group, and would like to point out something. If you are going to be away for a long period, or are having difficulty with participating with the Brotherhood for any reason, let us know! There is always a way to maintain even minimal participation, and staying out of the Rogue group is as easy as logging into the DJB website from time to time. This is especially poignant in light of the two sequential members we’ve had go Rogue in the last two months.

As Bentre has said before, and will say again, you are always welcome to contact us and your fellow Brotherhood members if something comes up. Be proactive, not reactive; it will help you and the chain of command in both the long and short terms.
