Night-time brought peace to the Mimosa-Inahj homestead. Andrelious and Kooki were sound asleep, and in the next room, their twin daughters, Poppy and Etty were also asleep. The twins were rapidly approaching their second birthday, and lay hugging each other tightly, as always.
The Mimosa-Inahj homestead was dug into the side of one of Karufr’s many mountains. Kooki, Alderaanian by birth, insisted on living high up among the thick snow and blizzards. The added bonus of being slightly isolated from the rest of the Clan had made the idea very easy to sell to her spouse.
Suddenly, a klaxon rang throughout the house, waking the family with a start. Poppy and Etty began to cry at the tops of their voices, desperately trying to be heard over the automatic alarm system.
“What in the name of Palpatine? That’s the bombardment warning! Get the twins!” Andrelious yelled, leaping straight out of bed.
“Bombardment? Who? The fleet’s meant to be strong enough to prevent any attacks!” Kooki called back as she sprinted at full speed towards her daughters.
Andrelious tapped a couple of commands into a small device on one of the walls. Its monitor quickly analysed sensor readings from across Taldryan’s network; the Warlord insisted on knowing exactly what was going on at all times.
The familiar triangles of Taldryan’s fleet were massing into battle formation. Casting his eyes across, Andrelious felt a sense of dread as he saw the size of the lead enemy vessel.
“Looks like it’s the Iron Fleet! We’ve got the Suffering and multiple support vessels on an attack vector. Get everything you can onto our ship!” the former Imperial shouted.
For reasons that were not yet clear to the Mimosa-Inahj family, the Dark Council were attacking Taldryan.
As I suspect most of you know of me, I’ll keep this section brief. I am Andrelious J. Mimosa-Inahj, and our Quaestor, Aiden Lee Deshra has selected me to be the new Aedile for House Dinaari. I’d like to thank Aiden, as well as our outgoing Consul and Proconsul (more on that in a second), for giving me this chance to work with one of the Brotherhood’s most successful houses.
A little about me, then? I have been in the DB on-and-off since 2001, and have been part of many clans over the years. Prior to joining Taldryan in the summer last year, I served as part of the leadership team over in Clan Arcona, first as Rollmaster, then as Battleteam Leader. I have played my present character, Andrelious, since 2008 and over that time he has grown from a bitter ex-Imperial pilot to the passionate Sith and family man that he is now.
In terms of my own personal enjoyment, I like to try pretty much everything that the Brotherhood has to offer, and I am active in both the gaming and writing sections of the club, with the very occasional foray into graphics. What that means is that I’m always happy to help you guys out with virtually anything that you wish to bring to me.
As I mentioned above, Taldryan’s upper summit have both tendered their resignations in the last few days. Howlader has resigned from his role as Consul, whilst his erstwhile Proconsul, Kenath Zoron, also decided the time was right to step aside. I’d just like to thank both of our crazy Canuck bosses for serving in their respective roles. :D
With these resignations, the post of Consul is currently open for applications! This news post details what to do if you’re interested.
In other news, there are two openings on the Dark Council itself. Cethgus has resigned from the position of Fist, whilst Evant has moved to the new Dark Council role of Regent, leaving his old job vacant. If you’re interested in becoming the DB’s head gamer type dude, check out the Fist vacancy. I believe that the deadline for Voice applications has already passed.
There’s also been a great deal going on fictionally. You can read the story here. Whilst doing so isn’t required, I thought that it was an excellent read, plus it explains what I’m talking about in my report fiction!
Aside from my appointment to Aedile, I’m happy to report that we have gained a new member. Let’s all give a big Dinaari welcome to Zane Apex! He’s also already gained his first promotion to the rank of Novice!

In the wider Clan, things have changed. Due to the events in the aforementioned DB-wide fiction, our home system, Karufr, has been attacked by Jac. For those interested in writing, this is a great opportunity to develop a new chapter in your character’s history! There will be a fiction event coming soon to give you the chance to describe what happened next with your character! Watch this space for that!
In this section I’m going to impart some words of wisdom that have served me well over the most recent years.
This time, I’d like to reach out to those of you who perhaps aren’t quite sure what to do next. You might be a new member who wants to try something new, but don’t know where to begin, or you might even have been around for some time and want to expand your skill set.
To all of you, all I’m going to say is: just give things a try! Your first few fiction entries may not be epic stories, but we all have to start somewhere. Even if you do not place, every single word counts towards a Cluster of Ice, and you also get to start writing about your own character! As for gaming, you have a whole Clan of potential team-mates, and I know of plenty of gamers in other Clans who would be more than willing to help, too!
Just remember that Aiden and I are never more than an email away. If you prefer, we’re also both available on Telegram, and I’m usually on IRC, as well! As ever we’re both willing to help you get set up on our chat programs.
