A Message from the Quaestor

Hallo, my lektastic Qel-Dromites!

We have recovered the horni! Excellent RPing last month! Quite the exciting ride through the desert sands and the coarse, rough, and irritating emotional suckerpunches that fresh orphans usually come with.

This month, I will be out on some government mandated forest camping that may involve recreational armored vehicle driving. While I’m gone, please direct all your quizzical questions to your plucky A-Arudile. Especially since he’s a real wizard when it comes to all things Discord!

Speeking of: We’re switching chat platforms to Discord!

Have you heard, the DJB is switching from Telegram, our faithful sticker haven, to Discord, the hot new thing on the block! The DJB server has been built up to mimic what we have on TG as closely as possible and all official chatting will take place there. That means if you enjoy gaming, then the FistBot will be accessible via Discord. If you enjoy DB Fiction Chat, then all your Lore and Mechanics questions will get answered over there. And of course, best of all, We will be there too!

Some minor aspects of chatting may still remain on TG after the switch, but you really really should get yourself set up. Wally even made a guide, so there’s no excuse!

As the nights grow dark and full of terrors, I must get back to packing. Hopefully the House won’t have burnt down while I’m gone...

A Message from the Aedile

Hello fellow Qel-Dromans!

The move has happened. We are now officially on Discord. If you have any questions regarding anything Discord related, do not hesitate asking me. I will be more than happy to help you with all that I can.

The RP session where we recovered Karran was one of the most active ones! Congratulations on that! And now that Roleplaying is an official activity in the club, we can expect many more developments and Clusters to come our way with our sessions.

I hope this new month goes well for all of you and let us embrace this new change with open hearts, for what matters in the end is that we did it together.

House Fiction Update

Port Ol’val

“Andt don’t do anything I vouldn’t do.” Those were Tali’s last words before leaving for an important House meeting.

Aru had stayed behind, fulfilling his duties as Aedile for a change, much to his annoyance. The Quaestor’s meeting was in Bespin, and he knew all too well the kind of hospitality that was offered to Diplomats on the Cloud City.

The Human sat at his desk and grasped the amount of paperwork Tali had left for him. Attached to some documents were stickers with notes that the Quaestor hoped Aru would read.

“Huh…” Aru picked a file that was dated almost a year back. It had his signature. “How’d this end up here?”

The Quaestor’s share of papers had been moved to his desk. Tali’s pile of documents was half full with the Aedile’s own files that were either poorly attended to or forgotten all-together.

A protocol droid knocked on the door, and announced without waiting for permission.

“His Excellency the Proconsul is here to see you, Master Law.”

“Kaka?” Aru perked up. He wasn’t waiting for Ruka’s appearance, but wasn’t bothered either. “What are you waiting for? Let him in!”

The office’s door slid open with a swush sound. The Mirialan figure stood tall and with a serious demeanor, as ever.

Ruka entered the office. What he had expected did not come to be;t was far worse than what he had imagined. It immediately caused his eye to twitch and his jaw to drop.

“Law! What the hell is that thing doing inside?”

Aru Law populates the leaderboard alone for this month.

The recent RP session gave out many Clusters to everyone involved, which is reflected in the amount of Clusters of Ice you all got this month.

There are many names on the list, which is great. Let’s keep up the activity!

Blind Key

Since no one besides Aru has made the leaderboard this month, and since he can’t be trusted with a master key to every building in Ol’val, the Quaestor is keeping it safe this month.

Competitions

• Time to take a twist where good turns bad and evil turns good! Draw a Star Wars character as if they were on the opposite side of the Force!
• The latest RP that helped rescue Karran Val’teo is in need of a proper Epilogue!
• The rule of two has been called for! Challenge your Master and show you’re ready to BE the Master.
• Cluster Races are a classic and standard of our Club! Do the thing!
• Oktober Fest? Lektober Fest? Nope, its the Lorefest!
• Who doesn’t want to be the villain sometimes? Write your character as if they were the antagonists in a story.

    • Tali: "Vhat didt you tell them this time, Aru?"

  • In all seriousness, what - if any - presence will be maintained on the TG (for example for old members (hell, I came out of my hiatus and showed up here before loading the site even so I'd have not known the move had happened) coming back or stuff like that. Or is this a silly question?
    • Tali: Main chatting will move over to Discord. If private chats (either personal or unofficial groups including DJB members and potentially others) decide to stay on TG, then that is their choice. I will personally keep the app and I can be reached on here for the foreseeable future. However, VB, HQD and Arvona chats (among others) will be moved over to Discord in order to maintain chat and communication coherency.
    • Aru: “Main chat is officially Discord. So anything DJB related should be handled there. Telegram is still an app we all can keep for PMs or any other thing outside DJB.”

    • Aru: “We have the Blind Key this month, so even doors won’t be a problem.”
  • Who's the scariest in HQD now?
    • Tali: "The one vho shall not be namedt…"
    • Aru: “When you enter the complex and have to fill a ton of consent forms at the entrance? That’s the scariest.”
  • Is Tali going to let Lucine organize a costume party that may or may not require a ton of blue paint?
    • Tali: "Absolutely not! Unless she pays out of pocket… vait… Vhy is there a budget item for ten cubic meters of blue paint for 39 ABY signedt… Three years ago!?"
    • Aru: “I see the Blue Man Group installation is well in order.”
  • Does Strong need to arrest Karran for desertion, dereliction of duty, and mis use of Clan assets?
    • Tali: "I appreciate the sentiment, but after seeing vhat state he vas in vhen ve recoveredt him, I think that's punishment enough. Also Sera might not approve."
    • Aru: “Yes. I wasn’t there when it happened, but yes.”

• Sera wants Halloween to come:

  • Is there any theming that Ol’Val’s gonna pull for Halloween?
    • Tali: "Ve have on goodt authority that an ace pilot named K'ara Trahce is bringing in some pu'mkin spice that can be made into festive caffeine beverages. Ve hope it to be all the rage."
    • Aru: “You know the sprinklers that mimic rain? This year, I’ve filled them with liquid gelatin!”
  • What are Tali and Aru’s thoughts on the shifts of power in Arcona? We’re they more happy to put there trust in Lucine, a known quantity, or are they happy with the new con?
    • Tali: "Always happy to play a new con, I mean vhat? In all seriousness, I'm happy Lucine may finally have a chance to focus on chat makes her happy. Even of saying that makes my Farsight tingle ominously…"
    • Aru: “I’m happy that Lucine is happy. And I’m very happy with having Rhylance as a Consul. And I’m extremely happy that I can now say Kaka is my Senpai!!!”
  • What’s with all the blue paint?
    • Tali: "I blame the previous Quaestor…"
    • Aru: “I blame the previous Quaestor.”
  • Sera is going to have some words with the former captain of the Voidbreaker. Hope Tali and Aru don’t mind.
    • Tali: "Be as vocal as you like!"
    • Aru: “And as touchy uwu”

  • Do you guys miss my ugly mug?
    • Tali: "I prefer to call it differently-beautiful."
    • Aru: “Can i drink beer out of it?”

    • Tali: "Still purple and mostly single. How are you? Also, welcome back!"
    • Aru: “I give you one better. Why is you? I’m doing great, hope you too.”
  • If my absence hasn’t been too long for your memories; What do you think of Avery’s terrible “attempts” at romance and womanizing?
    • Tali: "Romance can hurt, but takes courage to attempt. Vomanizing… I vill not comment on. You do you, --andt only you."
    • Aru: “I disagree. You do you or let others do you, or do others. I don’t know. I don’t judge.”

In Closing…

Discord is our new social app for everything DJB related. As we familiarise ourselves with our new hub new things are sure to come. One chapter in our storyline is closed, and friends have been rescued. New opportunities and challenges arrive, and a whole new month of adventure is ahead of us. I hope you’re as excited for the future as we are!
