Announcements

Alright, big announcements: Please join me in congratulating our new Aedile, Raistline Majere! I had a much harder time than expected in choosing him, as I got 5 really good applications for the position. That speaks volumes to the talent and dedication we have in this House.

In Raist's absence due to his promotion, we've discussed our options for his replacement as BTL and we've decided to promote one of our young firecrackers, Bobecc Varga!

Competitions

There's a ton of competitions out right now (28+), of all shapes and styles, so pick your poison and enjoy yourselves!

Fiction

• Eulogy for Tarax. This is a one-sentence run-on to mourn Tarax' untimely death. It runs until March 14 on the Discuss forums. Check it out and laugh - it takes next-to-no effort to contribute, so get it done!
• The War Is Over!. This is a chance to start working out some character stories for yourself. 500 words minimum describing how you've handled the end of our season of war. It gets you CIs and, for the newer members, can count toward one of your promotional checkboxes if you manage to get over 1000 (or 2000) words. This runs until March 14 too.
• Battle Poetry. Short and sweet - write a poem about a battle or duel your character participated in. Done March 16.
• It was my first day.... Similar rules as The War Is Over! The plot is the main difference - describe your first day in the Brotherhood. It runs until March 20.
• Star Wars v Game of Thrones. Write up 1,000 words (max) about your character in a GoT setting.

Multi-Player/Group Gaming

• Star Conflict Meltdown. This is a great quick competition using the free game, Star Conflict. Meet up with another DJB member and fly any PvP matches to earn CFs. The beauty of this is that you get a CF for any match in which you get a kill or assist, even if your team loses. It's exceptionally hard to not get one of those, so it's quick and easy to rack up CFs AND have a shot at some Crescents. Hit me up if you want to fly - competition ends March 16.
• JKA: Winter Cup. This is being hosted by our very own Bobecc and Artorias. It's a bracket tournament for JKA that starts on March 17. If you're interested, get subscribed ASAP.
• Taldryan Gatekeeper Trials: March 2015. This runs all month and awards the best Tier 1 PvP gamer for the clan with the title of Gatekeeper. Get onto #taldryan and get fighting!
• Gorefest is running twice this month and twice next month. The next one is the weekend of March 13-15.
• Star Wars Online CCG. This is interesting - someone has created a free-to-play version of the SW CCG. This is a feeler competition to see if there's enough interest to bring this in as a possible future platform. It runs until March 18 and both Kordath and Delak are more than happy to help teach you if you're interested.
• TOR Blood Hunt Speed Run. This runs until March 31 and has to do with clearing the Flashpoint as fast as possible.
• Diablo 3: Season 2 Greater Rift Ladders. There are two of these, one for seasonal and one for non-seasonal. These run until the end of August, so get going!

Single-Player/Mobile Gaming

• Speed Sporcle Challenge #8. My bi-weekly mini-puzzle competition. My advice is to make sure you have a way to get screenshots fast and keep the submission page open so you can minimize your time to submit. Yacks lost out on a tie-break this past event because the other guy got his onto the site faster. This ends March 15.
• TIE Fighter SP Challenge. A fun blast from the past with some serious rewards. You have until March 20 to fly the classic campaign for TIE and get the highest rank possible using the Medium difficult. You earn 10 CFs for each rank earned, so a potential 50 CFs and the possiblity of Crescents too. I don't think I need to remind you, but I will anyways - the rules say Medium without invul or unlim ammo. There's no real way to enforce that, but it is expected in Taldryan that we will compete honourably and respectfully. I do not want to see any allegations of rule-breaker here for some shinies. Play the game and enjoy yourself. Oh, make sure you get a screenshot of your pilot before you start (when you're at 0 score).
• Star Wars Commander: Roolan's Wrath. Ends on March 14, get the most stars in the last 8 missions. You also earn CFs for every 10 missions completed total.
• Mobile Gaming: Zig Zag. Nice quick little mobile game for CFs and crescents. Due by March 31.

Misc

• Revenge of the Meme. Create or share the funniest Star Wars meme you can. You have until March 31.
• Droidtacular. Use any sort of graphical means to describe your personal droid. Due April 1.
• DJB March Madness Bracket Pool - as the name says. Subscribe and follow the rules for it. Opens on March 17 and uns until April 7.

News

OK, wow. Lots of competitions. If there isn't anything in there that interests you, tell me or Raist - we'll get something set up for you!

House

1. Yacks has a report out. Read it and bask in the glory of the beard.

Brotherhood

1. Jac has announced that his new Left Hand of Justice is Montresor. Congrats!
2. Speaking of Monty, he posted a link to the new Lightsaber Guide. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but take a look when you're curious.
3. To assist the GM and his many associates in prepping the possessions roll-outs, head over to the Discourse Forums and fill out a survey about what fictional items your character has.
4. Aabs released a MAA report. Kordath and Landon have been welcomed in as Magistrates.
5. Marick (aka Wally) and Halc have been selected as the next Combat Master and Wiki Tribune, respectively.
6. Val is exploring the potential for other options to find fellow gamers for matches. Take a look and weigh in to help him.

Final Words

Oh man, long report again. I blame the competition section. It's massive, which is awesome. Lots of options to game and write.
