Welcome to Emissary Report #3! Let's jump right in.

Now Presenting: The Arx Dispatch

I've mentioned the upcoming newsletter in several previous posts. Now, I'm thrilled to announce the first issue of The Arx Dispatch, available here. For a light-background version, click here instead. Huge thanks go out to Zuza and Nora for their parts in putting this together, and to all of the members who submitted questions (and answers!) for the advice column. You should all have received shiny new Dark Side Scrolls for your contributions.

We plan on releasing a new issue of the Dispatch each quarter, meaning the next one will come out in early July. We're also taking suggestions for what kinds of content you'd like to see! Featured member work? Blog-style posts about subjects like "a day in the life of a Councilor"? The Emissary Staff Suggestion Box is open for input!

New Recruitment Rewards

One of my biggest priorities as Emissary has been to increase recruitment rewards, with the twin goals of a) bringing them more in line with the value that recruitment provides to the Brotherhood and b) giving recruiters an incentive to stick with their recruits for the long term, instead of having them fizzle out after a few days or weeks.

Thus, I'm pleased to announce that we're implementing a new recruitment-focused Trophy called Together, We Will Rule the Galaxy. As I'm sure you guessed, the name is a homage to the most famous (if not the most successful) recruitment pitch in the Star Wars universe. The trophy art the Herald whipped up for us is likewise meant to evoke that scene.

It seems Lord Vader has been getting lessons from Praetor Zuza on how to make friends. Look at that cheerful expression.

Q1 Stats

As some of you already know, I've taken over the job of doing quarterly stats reports for the DC and Clan Summits. While prepping those, I figured I would choose a few numbers to share with all of you that highlight just how active and awesome the club is.

As of March 31 2024, we had 276 active members.

Between January 1 and March 31:

27 new members joined the Brotherhood.
Altogether, the club ran 516 competitions (not including container competitions), which received 5494 submissions. We also ran 71 roleplaying sessions and 26 ACC battles.
62 members were promoted, with a total of 108 promotions handed out (including members promoted multiple times during the quarter).
134 merit and sacramental awards were given out to 113 members.
The Clans earned over 28 million credits.

That's a ton of activity from all of you!

Closing Out

With the newsletter released, the Emissary Staff is turning our focus back to other projects. We're continuing to work on the website revamp, in conjunction with the Herald and Seneschal. Discord hangouts and social media posts will continue. We've also got tentative plans for a spring- and Celebration-themed social RP in late April or early May, so stay tuned for more updates on those.
