Lunar Training Facility
Arx Minor
Arx’s sole moon had been more or less an afterthought in the Brotherhood’s settlement into the system. Which was exactly why Marick had selected it as the location for the Envoy Corps operations. The Lunar Training Facility had grown since its initial launch to include not just the Exarch’s office, but also a processing facility and center for Bounties before being transported to
Which still meant that a majority of the Exarch’s job was...reports. Marick made a few quick swipes with his fingers across the touch-screen displays in front of him. The Exarch pulled up the latest bounty contract that had been issued and finalized.
Braylan W’ray was all set to be transferred to the Sepulchrum, where the Inquisitorius would extract whatever they needed to unravel the Devil’s Fangs and their double dealing with the Collective.
Right on queue, the sliding door to the small office slid open and a tall, broad shouldered human entered. Footfalls echoed as his shadow stretched and then fell beneath the Exarch’s desk as he came to a stop a respectful distance. Marick glanced up from his terminal while his fingers continued to click across the keys.
“You’ve had a busy week, Captain Draconis. Or should I say, Quaestor.”
“...which theoretically makes me your ‘boss’. I am still unclear how that works with you also reporting directly to the Grand Master in your role.”
The clicking of keys paused for a brief moment. A blink. Then, the typing continued.“Neither do I,” Marick replied calmly. “Issue?”
“Nope,” Alex answered easily. ”Traversing awkward politics and operations is my speciality.”
Marick stopped typing, steepled his fingers and nodded once. “You’ll do well with Qel-Droma, then.” Tyris had, of course, been the first Quaestor to establish operations for Arcona on Port Ol’val, with Alex Draconis being the latest to hold the position that, depending on who you asked, was also the Blind Man.
Marick met the enigmatic man's eyes for the first time. “Good work, Envoy. Please relay my compliments to the rest of your team. Credits should have already been paid out to them. I look forward to following your progress.”
Alex started to open his mouth to tell the Exarch exactly where he could follow, but Marick’s attention seemed to have already moved on. A silent dismissal.
Despite his fatigue, Alex grinned, ran a hand through his hair and saw himself out.

Congrats to Atty, Bril, Bog, and Luka for winning the first Exarch RP Competition. Also thank you to Alaisy, Anders, Celevon, and Mihoshi for taking part as well with some good character work and storytelling! TuQ had done a trial run of the concept, and this was another step towards that as we co-graded it. Feedback was provided directly for each RP as well. If you want to see more, please let me know in either the report comments, DMs, or #fiction-chat

So, for those that might not be familiar with who/what the Exarch Staff is/does, I figured I’d use a quick section here to highlight them.
These are your Exarch Staff team members and how to find them on Discord:
@attyabbeyattiferann
)@benay029
) These are your champions of RP. They are all very friendly, approachable, and happy to help if you need anything. If you want to tag all of them at once, you can also just use @Exarch Staff
as well.
I’m highlighting this to remind members that the Exarch Staff is here to help. They are leading their own individual efforts to run RPs targeting the larger Brotherhood (not isolated to Clans/sub-units), but are also here to answer questions, provide assistance, and help out however you need.
They are also the ones approving the RP’s after they’ve been submitted for either “Regular” or “DM-less” sessions. When closing your RP please make a habit of checking in with someone from staff :).
That said, with Anders taking on Combat Master, and Hector being willing to open up more opportunity for newer members to get a feel for Exarch and RP related admin, both will be stepping down to allow me to open 2 slots on our staff. It’s likely that TuQ and Abbey will rotate out as well in the future, but this will largely be based on how much interest we get from membership.
The most important thing I’m looking for in our next staff member is a desire to learn the administrative side of things. While I’d prefer to get a member not already on multiple staffs, or high-level Clan leadership, everyone should be encouraged to apply if only so I know you’re interested. So in respects to that, I don’t care what rank or experience you have, just that you have a passion and desire to make the RP Society one of your primary focuses, beyond just joining RPs as a player. This includes being willing to help create RP activity either by running and grading RP competitions or co-DMing for members that are excited to run something but might need some extra support. Or just being a champion of RP activity, encouraging others to get involved, and answering questions about policy that people might have.
Please review the Exarch Staff Expectations for a list of the formal requirements for the position.
If you are interested and think you can do the job, apply. Even if you’re not selected, it shows interest and lets me know that you want to possibly be involved in future things.

Development projects have been a bit quiet, but we’re still working on this.
How To Run an RP Shadow Academy Exam: 70%
This is mostly written. My goal with it is to give resources and a broad, general overview of “how to run an RP for the DB”, and less “How to be a good GM/DM”, which is complicated, hard to pin down in a single page of paper. This will be system agnostic, and more best practices on “how to herd catsplayers” and create a fun experience.
Ranks 12+ for Player Trophy: 60%
I’m just waiting on some more data to help with the math here. We want to design this so that it’s both achievable, but not easily breached. We have to try and design around the highest RP performers, the regulars, and the casual/infrequent ones, to make sure we have a balanced progression.
We do have some cool awards and ideas on tap as well. Still figuring out how we can both provide cool, desirable rewards but also keep it balanced.
When I have more, I will share, but this is likely the project I hope to finish before my Exarch time is up.
Thanks again for everyone's patience.
That said, here is the leaderboard for October:
Again, this is just for fun, and a way for those who max out at Rank 12 in the Player Trophy to feel a bit of healthy, competitive spirit while we figure out the Rank 12+ awards/trophies.

My real life is going to have a lot of ups and downs over the next few months. My real life job is going through some major changes, but my availability should not be affected. If I feel it is, I will take steps and actions as needed, but for now, you're still stuck with me for the near-future.
