Exarch Report 16: Strength of the Envoys

Envoy Corps Headquarters
Arx Minor
43 ABY

Marick Tyris Arconae steepled his fingers together as he looked across his neatly organized desk at the two Sith standing on the other side of it. The first towered over the second, familiar latex suite stretched tight over her powerful form. She had removed her helmet, long inky hair drawn back in its high ponytail. The seconds red eyes and cerulean skin were betrayed by the faint smile pulling at his lips.

The pair of newer Elder’s had continued to rise in power. Power came in many forms, and while individually they were each a force, together their aura alone could wither the strongest of soldiers. Names had power, and while their files showed their true names, Marick knew to address them both by their chosen Sith Names. Afterall, he had been granted one as well.

Which left the question: who were they presenting before: the quiet, tired looking Exarch of the Brotherhood, or Darth Amarok?

“Aphotis, Aquitas,” Marick greeted. If he was in any way bothered by the Sith’s presence, it was nowhere to be found on his calm, stoic visage. His own presence was masked to even their developed senses. “Congratulations on the success of your mission. The Envoy Corps...thanks you for your service in removing the threat of R’Aoke Adebanyo,” he did not need to glance at the report on his terminals. He’d already read and memorized it.

“That said. Was it truly necessary to...” his eyes glanced upward for a moment as he recalled the exact wording, “‘leave a hole Koboh, with some tibanna gas radiation’.” As he spoke, his mask seemed to crack slightly, the dark creases under his eyes showing a perpetual fatigue that seemed to follow parents of young children—and apparently administrators in charge of missions, bounties, and contracts for the Brotherhood.

Aphotis flicked her hair slightly and folded her arms across her chest, clawed nails tapping against a slender bicep. No apology would come from her. She glanced sidelong at her “partner”.

The Combat Master offered a slight bow of his head, “Apologies, Exarch,” he offered professionally. “Perhaps we got...a bit carried away.”

Marick didn’t nod or shake his head. Simply maintained eye contact with each. “It was fortunate that no civilians were harmed, and we were able to deploy Principate resources to relocate any of the survivors that were not rounded up otherwise. That said, mining has resumed, providing additional resources.”

“In the future, please remember that our actions reflect on the Brotherhood as a whole. Dismissed.”

Aphotis smirked, and as her eyes lingered on Marick’s, it was clear to say that she was indeed leaving, but not because he had asked. Aequitas, at least offered another bow and gestured for the taller Sith to go first.

Once the two left, he let out a long, tired sigh and began the paperwork.

Bounty 006: Complete

bounty06

Congrats to Alaisy and Anders on winning Bounty 006. If you want to be featured in future micro-Exarch fictions, keep an eye out for Exarch-run RP Competitions!

EnvoyCorps

Got a lot to cover in this one, but feel free to use the table of contents to jump around if needed!

Table of Contents

The Exarch Staff

So, for those that might not be familiar with who/what the Exarch Staff is/does, I figured I’d use a quick section here to highlight them.

These are your Exarch Staff team members and how to find them on Discord:

  • Atty (@attyabbeyattiferann)
  • Alaisy (@alaisy)
  • Bogart (@bograt)
  • Jon (@johnathanarkham)

Welcome formally to Jon and Alaisy! These are your champions of RP. They are all very friendly, approachable, and happy to help if you need anything. If you want to tag all of them at once, you can also just use @Exarch Staffas well.

I’m highlighting this to remind members that the Exarch Staff is here to help. They are leading their own individual efforts to run RPs targeting the larger Brotherhood (not isolated to Clans/sub-units), but are also here to answer questions, provide assistance, and help out however you need.

They are also the ones approving the RP’s after they’ve been submitted for either “Regular” or “DM-less” sessions. When closing your RP please make a habit of checking in with someone from staff, or respond to them when they do reach out.

Development

Reminder that the Exarch Resources Google Drive is available to all members, and is a home-grown method of sharing RP assets for your sessions should you wish to use them.

  • Added 100+ new tokens to the Exarch Resources Folder under Maps & Tokens

  • Organized Maps by “Type”. You can find the databank of maps here in the Exarch Resources folder.

These maps are found from r/StarWarsMaps, donated by members, or my subscription in supporting Miskas Maps and others.

Activity

Strength of the Envoys: Results

Congratulations to Alaisy on 1st Place, Luka on 2nd Place, Anders on 3rd Place, and then a tie for 4th place between Syrena and Narman!

Also thank you to everyone who took part in at least one of the competitions, giving us 25 Unique Participants. The full scoreboard can be found here.

Playlist Comp

So, it’s been a while since I ran one of these, but it was a delight getting to listen to everyone's playlists. I discovered some new songs and artists (my secret motive, muahaha) and learned a lot about your characters, which is also fun for me. Congrats to Arch for getting 1st Place for being a tryhard putting together a really good list with accompanying explanations of why they fit Vez’s character. I left little comments or quips on each of your entries as well if you’re curious to hear my internal thoughts typed out loud.

Graphics Comp

I loved all of these entries, and a few are already active now on the Wiki. Props to one of our newer members — Esen — on getting her first (but already repeated) Crescent with a Ruby Star. Her entry is now the new face of the Flitz on the Wiki.

Luka’s render of the Shame Corner is live on the wiki as well! I’m looking at some of the other entries as inspiration for other things we can create for the Envoy Corps.

NPC Competition

So while Luka’s entry — Mousa — will be the new head Courier, the second and third place entries from Alaisy and Narman will be getting character sheets and filling in the roles of “Runners” to help deliver mission briefings and interact with Envoys on their missions. Art is being commissioned or drawn up for each character, and I’ll likely highlight them in my next report.

RP Competition

Already covered this in the intro, but just wanted to plug that feedback for each participant’s team was left on the competition details itself. You can view this from Administration → Competition Participation History. This should help show Bog and I’s thought process behind our grading and decisions and hopefully help with your writing/future RP competitions!

Thanks again to everyone who participated. I love running comps like this because it lets us work together to do some worldbuilding. Hopefully you all feel the same. If not, feel free to message me with ideas or feedback, or smash that like button let me know in the comments what you think.

Closing

That’s all for now. Thanks for reading and genuinely thanks for everyone taking part in the world building competition series. I’m also really excited to see a mixture of first time RPers getting involved. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask. And sometimes, just jumping in is the only way to get started. Afterall, the most important step a person can take is the next one...
