Introduction

Hellllooooo, my beloved beasts, unicorns and abominations of Qel-Droma! Kat here, (duh) welcome to my first report as Aedile. This will be a relatively quick report on news, crescents, competitions out the ying-yang, and full of my endearing (did not say that with a straight face, I tried) banter. So! Let us dive right in!

Kordath’s Aedile Report

• Our fuzzy Bleu guy not only recently(ish) got Aedile of Galarese, but he also put out a very informative report. It has words and links and would probably appreciate some love. <3

• And as we all know, Timeros TooManyNames was recently hired for the position of Rollmaster. He has already put forward several things that do stuff, but I am NOWHERE near qualified to try to explain. But they’re helpful things that make helping us, help you easier xD

So, if you haven’t congratulated these two yet, go do that. Kord probably bites...And Tim is well...Let’s just say you should have done that by now.

Ask The Aedile

• Celevon How many times a day do you generally tell someone they're fired? Additionally, how many times have you fired yourself?

  • Kat Honestly, I only fire three people a day...or one person three times. My quitting is still a couple times a day, but I do it more when talking to myself or my cats...or into a can of liquid energy...I get more vocal about it when I realize I'm not the supervisor of someone I've fired. I mean, I always did that but actually being people's supervisor has kinda spoiled me. I could finally fire so many people! And while that is fun, a new problem arose:I simply cannot fire those who I want to. Basically, I want what I can’t have and my rebellious nature hates it and so! . Now that you reminded me of this horrible life I now lead angsty face I QUIT! (Third time today)

• Skar Can we expect some build up fictions leading up to the next Sins event?

  • Kat We have a bunch of really great writers currently working their butts off doing just that. Who and what? You will have to wait and see!!! :D

• Abbey what exactly is Mae up to in all this?

  • Kat This is literally the BEST place to say, “If I told you, I would have to kill you,” with a big catty grin...However, pffft. Maenaki is doing her job exactly as she needs to. The best way to remain under the radar is to not do anything suspicious or without an alibi. Making allies is the only way that she will be able to start moving around of her own volition and, as we all know, Grey/Dark Jedi are not the easiest people to befriend. She is earning bits of trust through her ability to do her job and through her duty to the Clan...But if the Shadow Lady were to peer and pry, she would find that Mae is becoming impatient and seems to be waiting to happen...but is unsure of what. But she absolutely believes that, right now, her loyalty is to her job.

• UUGHAABBEEEEY Have you found anything rewarding about leadership?

  • Kat Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuughhhhh. Abbeeeeeeeeeyyyyy...Do you have any idea how long this answer is going to be? Good thing I know you’re not opposed to reading xD Oookay, SO! Short answer, yes. Long answer, lots. First, and most selfish, I like that my character is now able to be one of those “important” characters that many strive for. But it is still the most superficial pay off of the work, effort and energy that I put into being Aedile. The more work I put in, the more prevalent I’m alright with making Maenaki. And that’s karkin fun. But doesn't give me the fuzzy warms like the rest of what is really rewarding. My more altruistic reasons come in many parts. I’ve found a love of helping people. With writing, character sheets, proofing, venting, being an ear or being a voice of (lol*snort*) reason. It is seriously the most amazing thing to be able to talk out problems, bounce ideas and get to really know people. I don’t think(more aptly, I know know) if any other position gives a person this kind of opportunity and it’s just extremely fulfilling for me. Everyone I have spoken to, especially those I have fought with/butted heads with, they have helped me see the better things about myself and what parts of them I wish I had a bit more of. I now feel a little weird about using gifs from a cannibalism show….Oh, well. I also really like being able to be a benefit to the Clan. I like making the jobs of others easier, while making them harder at the same time. :D I honestly try to be easy to deal with...as I can be. Of course, until Miss.Temper comes out But I think for the most part I really love doing wikis, sabotaging Terran’s quarters and trying to make things more cohesive, usable and inclusive for everyone.

• Uji’s Trick Question Is working with your Pcon as bad as it seems like it would be?

  • Best Worst Aed Answer Only when he asks me trick questions that I get to word diplomatically and flip around to make everyone in the situation look good because I’m baws af. Which is also technically a good thing because it means that I can practice writing diplomatic answers that will improve my skills when writing Maenaki. :D

• Atra want some of these cheese filled meatballs? Also, if you could redo your journeyman days, what would you alter in your path in a way you would consider “for the better”?

  • Kat’s Growling StomachI hate you. I’m literally waiting on french fries and trying not to cry over how much I wish I could each cheese right now. Also, I am never letting you ask questions again.

If I could go back to journeyman....fml. I would have done so many things differently, but the main one is...a little contradictory. I would not have let my anxiety get the better of me when it came to asking leaders for help and I wouldn’t have acted like such a cocky little #$%^because of that fear. I mean, I still would have been lippy and a pain in the butt, but I wouldn’t have been so aggressive AND defensive ALL the time. I would have started looking at the words on the screen as actual PEOPLE talking to me, and not just jerk-trolls that I had to compete with to “prove” myself against. I would also stop whining all the time about people not including me in things. Getting included and having people “care” about my character was entirely up to me. To take the initiative and ask people I thought were interesting and go talk to them, or ask to write their character and get feedback. To share my fictions, instead of just hiding how atrociously they were written xD

Basically if I could have a few seconds with N00b Kat, I would tell her: "Kat, don’t be scared. There’s no need to overcompensate for your insecurities, just let people help you until you can help them and THEN WRAP THEM IN THE WEBBING OF YOUR FRIENDSHIP!!!!" (Frenemyship with you though, Atra.)

• Terran’s Trick Question How do you like picking up work from your slacking QUA?
  • His Badass Aedile’s Answer I think that it’s my duty, my obligation, my responsibility and my pleasure to help out when it is needed. Real. Life. Comes. First. Also, I get to feel important while not having the pressure of the Position :D
