A New FIST In Town

Hello out there in DB Land! Welcome to my first report as Fist of the Brotherhood. I am extremely excited to be taking the reigns and look forward to working with the DC, Clans, and membership to further improve gaming within this club. I want to thank Pravus, Mav, Jac, and the rest of the DC for extending me this opportunity.

I want to thank Cethgus for his efforts as FIST. Ceth put a lot of heart into building this team, and I hope that I can continue to move gaming forward as he was trying to do. FIST is not an easy position, and in some cases it can be quite thankless. Thanks, Stu.

To the sitting FIST staff, thank you for keeping everything running during the application period. You guys have kept the trains running on time, and have taken a good bit of initiative in terms of drafting wiki updates and other items. Thank you all for agreeing to stay on staff!

To Clan Plagueis, thank you for being my first home in the DB. Teylas, Slags, Viv, Arden, Taranae, and all the rest of the Plagueis crew: you guys all helped me get to this point in some way. I couldn’t have asked for a better group to start out with in the DJB. Keep a seat open for me at the table...I’m sure I’ll be back one day! Thanks for all you have done, and all you will continue to do in the future!

Some Changes up Front

It seems that almost every first report given by past Fists has some form of cluster change/update. This will be no different. After a quick initial discussion with the Fist staff’s resident D3 expert Aexod, I have implemented the following changes to some of the upper tier content for Greater Rifts.

• Normal Rifts - Torment X - 2.0 CE
• Normal Rifts - Torment XI,XII - 2.5 CE
• Normal Rifts - Torment XIII - 3 CE
• Greater Rift 45-49 - 2.0 CE
• Greater Rift 50-59 - 2.5 CE
• Greater Rift 60+ - 3 CE

Additionally, Season 7 of Diablo 3 is coming to a close soon. The staff is already looking into possible competitions for Season 8. Be on the lookout for those in the near future!

Battlefront is still our primary next-gen platform Star Wars game. Recently, EA gave us a new update that includes a three-phase assault on the Death Star itself! Battlestation mode is now live, so get back out into the battlefields and skies and take it to the enemy (Rebel or Imperial)!

• PoB levels changed to 25, 40, 55, 65, 70, 80 (Max is currently level 90)
• Battlestation Mode: 4 CFs per completion

Bungie has released the final expansion pack for Destiny, and as we are all aware is now looking forward to the development and release of Destiny 2, the Search for More Money. This newest expansion has brought us face to face with Lord Saladin, one of the last surviving Iron Lords. Three new Strikes, new Crucible modes (Supremacy and Private matches), and an all new Raid. I have personally tried out the new raid, and it is without a doubt my favorite raid in the game. Anyway, with new content comes new cluster values. And...a big drop of my shiny new nerf hammer for older content.

The following changes and additions are effective immediately, and if you have been holding on to any screenshots for new content, you may submit them now. Get out there and prove yourself worthy of the Iron Lords!

Additionally, in order to simplify the screening and approval process for my team, moving forward we will only accept screenshots from the bungie.net website or mobile app. These sites provide a date and timestamp on the completion screen that will help us identify any potential errors in submission (notably duplicate submissions). Finally, we are still working on implementing 1v1 matches for Destiny. There are still a few details for us to iron out, and I hope to have that mode go live in the very near future!

Wiki Updates

The staff has also been hard at work editing Wiki articles and making recommendations for the cataloguing of extraneous pages. Celahir , Aexod, and Beef have done an amazing job helping to find and update all the outdated information and archive some older pages that are no longer relevant. Effective immediately, the following articles are being marked as historical and no longer relevant:

• Inter-Club Gaming Event page has been archived.

The following wiki pages have been updated to reflect the current state of gaming in the DB.

• Dark Council Guardsman Accessories page has received a much needed overhaul. Keep an eye on this page for the coming updates with all the new DC appointments.

• Fist-o-Matic page has been updated to reflect the move from IRC to Telegram.

• How to Submit Scores Guide has been updated to mirror the new site lay-out and include PvE and PvO.

• Pendant of Blood page has been update to reflect changes to award levels and addition of Overwatch.

• Pazaak Guide has received some updated imagery.

• Cluster of Earth page has been updated and now has the award imagery.

• Gaming Troubleshooting page has been cleaned up.

I Want to Hear from You

While the Fist staff is the primary source of gaming updates and news, we are a small staff that is limited to our own ideas. I really want to hear from you on how we can make gaming better in this club. What do you like? What do you dislike?

To get at that, I’m not going to ask you to fill out a google form or do a survey. I want to game with you. Once a month, I am going to hop onto one of the three major platforms for “Gaming with the Fist”. I’ll be able to play on PC (with the exception of Jedi Academy...because I own a Mac), Xbox One, and PS4. I will jump into voice chat, pen and paper handy, and listen to what you have to say while we game. The date, platform, and game will be announced monthly, so keep your eyes peeled and be ready to come and share your ideas. I will not make any promises or policy changes during these events, but I will take your comments back to the staff so we can discuss them and look at how to meet the needs of the gamers in this community.

For October, I’m going to start with our largest gaming population. This month’s “Gaming with the Fist” will be on 15 October at 10:00 AM PST (5:00 PM GMT) on PC, where I will be playing Diablo 3, Star Conflict, and maybe even Heroes of the Storm or some other MOBA.

Conclusion

I am truly honored and humbled to serve as Fist of the Brotherhood. Real life friends are what brought me into the DB, but Gaming is truly what kept my interest going.
