In this report you'll find the First Supported Mobile Game for the Club, much love for the SCL who made a GMRG Leaderboard, a listing of ongoing competitions, and many competition results and awards for the Brotherhood's Gamers! I also make fun of myself a few times, just in case you aren't interested in the other things.
For May the 4th I ran a competition based on this Mobile App. In the process I nearly ruined Star Wars Day for most members of the Club who wanted to participate in the Gaming Competition, but also found out that people seem genuinely interested in the game. So I'm going to capitalize on that second point, mostly because there isn't another holiday for me to destroy for a few more months. This Sunday I'll be running (ruining?) another competition that's similar to last weeks, but more on that later.
So, how will the Gaming Staff be supporting a Mobile App which doesn't allow players to play coop with other DJB Members and doesn't allow players to challenge specific other individuals? Obviously we're a bit limited on the "traditional" support for this game, so the model will be a bit out of the box.
Support will be focused around frequent Competitions. You can expect to see two to three Competitions each month focused specifically on Star Wars Assault Team. These will award Third Level Crescents. Participation will also grant 10 Clusters of Fire, double what normal Mobile events do. Competitions may last a few weeks, or may be only one day. You will want to Rank up in the game, I make no promises that all these competitions will be easy or that a brand new person will be able to pick up the App and have the features unlocked to participate.
Not exactly. Star Wars Assault Team does support you buying currency to do things like pick up card packs, or refill your energy. I've been playing this game since release, I haven't paid a cent and have nine characters at Tier 4 right now. Most of my characters I either found during missions, or picked up in card packs I bought with Credits or Gems I earned by playing the campaign.
I recommend not buying Card Packs honestly, you find the big name characters in missions or in Arena Packs which can't be bought. I've even learned a few tricks to level characters more efficiently, and will be creating a wiki page for this type of information over the next few days. So generous right?
Someone lied to you about the punch and pie. The competition will be live shortly though, but here's some details. You will need Rank 5 in the Game to access the Credit Run Mission on the Special Missions Tab (I forgot to include the 10 CF participation reward in the Comp itself, it still applies though). This competition will award Second Level Crescents, yes its a higher award than what I said above. I'm confident we'll see enough participation to push it to First Level...
Thanks to the marvels of coding the SCL team has put together a Leaderboard to show exactly where all Rank 10 GMRG individuals fall in the race to get Dark Council Assignments, and unique Accessories. The individuals at Rank 10 on June 30th with the highest CFs earned from April 1st to June 30th will earn GMRG promotions to Rank 11 and 12, as listed in the GMRG Wiki!
There are nine Dark Council Guardsman slots up for grabs. If you looked at that link (I know you all did right?) you'll see only seven Rank 10 individuals have earned CFs, with the race about half over so far. This is anyone's game! Also - are you really going to let Pravus and me take the top two slots?
Gorefest will to start on Friday, May 23rd. The Competition will be live on the site later this evening. As a reminder, the requirement to be at GMRG II to participate in Gorefest has been removed. Any member of the GMRG can compete and earn bonus CFs for any Gaming activities

I see what you did there. ;)
Not true; Mother's Day is on Sunday. =)
Random question!
Is Freeworlds: Tide(s?) of War on the radar? They were close-ish to releasing a demo/beta recently, so I dunno if we'll be jumping on that bandwagon. Will we be?
Even I'm not willing to ruin Mother's Day. We've all been told she brought us into this world, and she can take us out of it.
Freeworlds is on the short list of future platforms. :)
Enjoying the acceptance of Assault Team. Pretty fun game, and totally playable without spending money. Lots of Star Wars on the horizon!
something something dark side of the force, YAY i like star wars assault team happy to read it's been made officially supported.
PS: This Star Wars Assault game is surprisingly addictive. :P
