Greetings gamers and onlookers! The war is just around the corner and we have some important updates to Casual Gaming Queue. But first some staff changes…
Nora Olen di Plagia (first of her name) has been a foundational part of the Fist office since I was a magistrate myself. She was so valuable to the office that I kept extending her terms. But all good things, as they say, must come to an end as Nora moves on to bigger and better things. She has already hit the ground running as communications tribune and I look forward to continuing to work with her in that role to help feature our club’s gamers to the rest of the world.
She has more than earned a Grand Cross as a token of thanks for her Fist office work since promotion. Be sure to congratulate her and send her highlights.
With the war on the horizon and the accompanying lockdown of the gaming queue (yes I process all the clusters during the war) I have decided to wait until after the war to backfill the position.
The Great Jedi War is fast approaching and as I previously announced the supported games that will be featured in the war competitions are:
Again this comes from what the most played games are since the last GJW. Download the games you want to play and keep your eyes peeled for more war updates.
Since the launch of Casual Gaming Queue some cases have come up where the staff and I have had to make some calls on what screenshots can work for certain casual queue games. I try to publish these on discord and in reports but I have added a section to the Casual Gaming Queue wiki to collect these rulings in a one place people can reference.
The overall rule for casual queue submissions remains that a screenshot must 1) show an activity was completed and 2) who was in it. Some games, however, create special cases on what counts as an activity and what needs to be in the screenshot. Phasmophobia is a prior example where the staff deliberated on how to support it for casual queue and came up with the solution of taking a screenshot of the sanity meter at the end of a round.
Cards Against Humanity has been thorny to support for casual queue in particular because what counts as the completion of an activity is debatable. I probably erred in allowing screenshots of individual hands of CAH to pass for clusters. The staff reviewed the data and community feedback and we have published some guidelines on what will count for CAH submissions going forward. I have posted these guidelines on the wiki.
The “nerf” to CAH was necessary to keep things relatively balanced for cluster races. I know it may be a disappointment to some but my hope is people will continue to have fun playing CAH with other members and submitting the rounds just at a bit more manageable pace.
In case you missed it Kamjin (with help from James) has launched the first interaction of the DB specific version of the Star Wars customizable card game. The DB version is just content for an existing platform. You can submit matches from the DB specific server or from the main SW:CCG server for clusters of fire.
Be sure to check out the customized cards Kam put together and join me in thanking him for his hard work. So check out the decks and try a match or two. If you are interested in helping expand the DB deck then contact Kamjin.
Stay tuned for more updates regarding the GJW and brace your wallet for the onslaught of must-play games coming out this fall. Now if you'll excuse me, Baulder's Gate ain't gonna save itself.
Until next time,

A big thank you to Turel and the Fist team. It has been an absolute blast working with y’all. I’ll be back, don’t worry!! Ps: yes!!! Send me all the highlights!!
Appreciate the staff flexing to allow for games to continue!
Thanks to Nora for her hard (and continued) work!
Also a massive salute to Turel for all the work you're about to do.
If you haven't had a chance to play the DB:CCG, do give it a try (I personally recommend the Light Side deck). ;p
Congrats Nora
This is a good call on CAH for balance.
Congratulations again Nora and great work from the Fist staff! Thanks Turel for the call out - currently I'm working to merge and setup syncing with the main SW:CCG Gemp team so their updates flow seamlessly into the DB:CCG and then will begin the Shadow Academy set.
This'll solve for the missing Set 21 the SW:CCG Gemp team recently released.
I both agree with the CAH rule change, and am saddened by it.
