Shar Dakhan XQ2 Platform

The platform was new, and still felt like it. Repair crews and droids were still busy resolving minor snagging issues and performing tests on the systems. In the C&C, members of House Shar Dakhan were talking with each other, or looking out of the view ports at the newly installed defence grid, a network of defence platforms and mines as fighters flew past performing drills. In orbit nearby, the ships of the Shar Dakhan fleet had formed up, the Vindicator Light of Orian, the Strike Cruiser Dakhan's Fist, and the Ton Falk Carrier Reaver, along with their escorting corvettes. From the planet below a steady stream of shuttles were forming up from the planet below, bringing the ground forces to join the ships, ready to be loaded up.

Aedile Tasha'Vel Versea was talking with the Neti Adept. “Colonel Miros reports the second battalion is loading now, to join the first in orbit. The fourth will follow.”

“They seem efficient,” Malik replied, “that is good.”

“We have agreed that the third will remain behind,” Tasha replied, “after past events I would rather not leave the defence of our world to the Aeotheran Security Force. They are acceptable at patrolling and keeping the peace but I would not trust them against an enemy without reinforcement.”

“We have reinforced the planet and our space forces,” Malik replied with a nod, “our new planetary and space facilities gives Aoetheran and Sar Korinar an unprecedented level of defence against hostile threats. It is reassuring.”

Tasha nodded. “Indeed.”

They turned as the Quaestor arrived to address the House, and the senior officers. The Quaestor had exchanged his usual casual robes for a suit of black armour with Clan and House symbols. “Members of Shar Dakhan. As you will be aware we are mustering to join the rest of the Clan Naga Sadow forces to respond to a growing threat to the Brotherhood and our Clan. You will be called upon to act where nessesary to ensure victory. That may be infiltrating our enemies to gain intelligence or destabilise them, fighting alongside our forces to strengthen their resolve, or defending important officals or leaders. In other words you will serve where needed and you will serve well.”

He paused. “I have always maintained I do not care who you are, Sith, Jedi, Mercenary or Officer. I do not care what you do in your spare time so long as you do not embarrass our House and Clan. All I care is that you turn up armed and ready when Naga Sadow needs you. And now I see you in front of me ready for war and I am pleased with all of you. Our forces are ready and we will fight.”

There was a cheer from the members. They looked out as more shuttles arrived from the planet bringing the rest of the ground troops. “I wish we had more fleet power,” Kristeva commented quietly.

The Quaestor turned to her, “What was that Savant?”

“Our forces are impressive, as are the new planetary defences. but during the events at Arx, we could have done with more firepower, and when the Unchained invaded the Warhost fleet was slow to respond to the attack on our planet.” She shrugged.

“Agreed,” Quentin added from next to her, the Knight also studying the assembled fleet.

“I see,” Malisane replied. He raised his communicator. “Commodore Krill, what is your estimated time of arrival?”

“Our ETA is one minute Quaestor,” the reply came back.

“Good,” Malisane replied. He looked over the House members who were watching him curiously. Then he turned and pointed to the space near the planet and the XQ2. “Never let it be said that we do not respond to concerns of our members.”

As they watched the empty space, a squadron of X-Wing fighters left hyperspace, each appearing and manoeuvring into position. Then there was a pause, and then something large left hyperspace, a mass of lights and weapons and gleaming metal in the dark of space. Slowly it turned, its engines powering up as it moved towards the members watching from the viewport of the platform. Then it reached the rest of the Dakhan fleet, which slowly formed up around it.

“Is that ours?” Marcus Kiriyu asked, echoing the thoughts of the House members.

“It is indeed,” Malisane replied, a hint of pride in his voice “now we are ready for war.”

Introduction

Hello House Shar Dakahn!

How are you all doing? Well I hope. For those of you who are paying attention we are on the buildup to Great Jedi War XV Assention here in the Dark Brotherhood, and I am sure you will join myself and the rest of the Summit in hoping we have a fun and enjoyable Vendetta and Clan Naga Sadow comes out of it with a great performance. As we draw closer, this is a good point to check you are ready. If you are planning on doing some gaming make sure you have the game installed, it's up to date and you have done whatever you need to qualify to play it against others in the right region. Likewise if you’re planning on hitting the fiction comps make sure your main and NPC character sheets are up to date reflecting any changes to skills or feats or force powers that would make it invalid, and reflect the characters you want to write about.

Anyway, I am looking forward to this Vendetta as last year's RoS was fun, especially the button clicking marathon I got a Silver Nova for, and hope you are too! Anyway, on with the report.

So what's been happening?

Firstly, one of the great new things going on in Clan Naga Sadow is the new Discord based roleplaying activities. We are still on with our first one, Disappearences & Disturbances. This has replaced the old style forum runons, which were often large, complicated and stuck for months, with people unsure what to post and newer people struggling to get involved. It would be great to have more of these in the future, and I have been debating running a small three or four people one with a nice exciting mission in the near future. It would be great to get peoples ideas on this. Obviously it only works if people are interested so its up to everyone to make it fun and exciting.

Well done to newly promoted Hunter Annika Anthos for both attaining a new rank and her Dark Cross. It is great to see newer members making an effort to take part and allowing us to reward them.

Also welcome to Seer Marcus Kiriyu and Novices Emissio and LukeShadows, its great to have you here in Shar Dakhan and any questions or ideas you want to discuss please let us know.

Lastly, following a lot of number crunching, discussions and spreadsheet work by members of the HSD, HMR and Clan Summit, we have been spending on lots of lovely new assets for our House forces and planets. With the addition of planetary and space assets from the Regents staff, we have been able to flesh out our planets with bases, outposts and spaceports in our cities, each having shields and weapons to defend them, and also surround Aeotheran and Amphor with lots of defence platforms and mines to keep enemies away.

We have also expanded our ground forces to include an extra battalion of troopers, with a second armour unit including finally some AT-ATs, and build up to a regiment strength.

In addition we have splashed the cash on a brand new XQ2 platform, complete with four squadrons of fighters, which is a great new asset to defend Aeotheran and also somewhere to write about in fiction.

And last but definitely not least, we have our new flagship and pride of the Shar Dakhan fleet, a Victory Class Star Destroyer. This is a full 900 metres of death and dominance, again with a full fighter complement.

Currently the XQ2 Platform and the VSD are shiny and new and currently do not have names, so I will be asking you for ideas for both of these and getting a bit of a discussion going on which works.

That is it for our purchases for now, though we still have a little money left in the bank, so we can consider fleshing out our transport ships and maybe add some more planetary locations as ground assets in the near future.
