Welcome to April Galeres! Yeah yeah I know I’m late, I’m sorry. The last two months have been a whirlwind of activity both in the Brotherhood and in real life. In case you haven’t noticed, our Clan Event started on the 15th of last month. We’re finally wrapping up the Godkiller storyline and freeing Selen from these would be gods… and getting a little angey due to it. Part 2 has started and ends on the 12th.
Aaaannnddd I’m running a set of mini-comps this month around the most recent corps in our house– the Galeres Field Medic Corp. This is a contingent of Galeres focused solely on field surgery, triage, and first aid.
I did a survey regarding what you guys thought the identity of Galeres was, and also what you wanted to see more of out of the House. The answers ranged from “I’m not sure” to full detail explanations, but one thing was pretty apparent across the board… We don’t really have an identity.
See the results of the Survey below:
Sure Galeres is the military house, but that’s pretty much all we know about ourselves. That happens, we’ve had a lot of change in leadership. So what does this mean? Every time I do a weekly check in, I’m also going to highlight portions of the House– from mottos, to past important historical events, to current events. Members will be welcome to chime in and add their own flare to things and within reason it’ll be adapted.
Let me clarify that everything about Galeres will stay the same. We are still the militant house, we are still on Ft. Blindshot, and we have the same focus as before. I just want to highlight and better define that for those of us who are lost.
“Oh, so that’s where it’s been.”
Sivall looked at her Neti Quaestor who was standing off to her side with a look of disbelief and confusion, eyes wide and mouth slightly agape, like she couldn’t believe the words out of his mouth. She then turned again to the Kessurian male in front of her desk.
“You found this where?”
“Cleaning a supply closet.”
“Under trash?”
“Disintegrated paper towels actually–”
“And you said this is what, again, Ood?”
The Neti crossed his arms in front of his bark laden chest, looking at the black and gold blade laid across Sivall’s glass desk. It shone under the bright lights recessed into the ceiling above the area.
“This is the Glory of Galeres, a… half status symbol, half weapon created some time ago. The blade is made from an alloy of metals from Selen and Eldar, and the crystals you see along the blade itself? They are neutralized remnants of the crystalline beasts that attacked this very fort a few years back. It was given to whoever proved their service to Arcona and Galeres.”
“So it’s an artifact?”
“Of sorts.”
“You would think someone would have taken enough care of the thing if it meant that much—” Severin started but was quickly silenced by Siv’s best impression of a Ruka Glare (patent pending).
“What was its name again?” the Chiss Aedile queried, looking up at the sentient tree that was her superior.
“The Glory of Galeres.”
“Sounds like an R-rated holofic—”
Another glare.
“Right. Shutting up.” The hybrid made a zip like motion across his lips, then pretended to silently whistle. Sivall dragged her sanguine eyes from him back to the blade on her desk. The question now was what to do with it. Should they honor the tradition? Should they create a new tradition for themselves? How would they even create an objective ruling on who would get the blade in the first place?
The Chiss Aedile sat in silence for a second before she perked up, snatching her datapad off of the glass surface to her right. She quickly pulled up a report on all of the activities across the House, her fingers deftly switching between windows and panels. Severin and Ood shared a confused glance and the Neti just shrugged his shoulders.
She knew exactly how to calculate who should have the sword, and she knew exactly who should hold it– even if it might cause some to shout favoritism.
“Gather everyone in the Courtyard.”

You can read more of the fiction here!
Tldr– We found the Glory of Galers again! It will be given out monthly to the person who places at the top of the leaderboard. And this month… it’s Bril! Read through the fiction to see the little ceremony we now hold for those who receive the blade– and the cool new non-official title given to Bril Teg Arga!
Ohmygoshandgoats, a lot has happened since the last report. Lets sparknotes this ish.
I think I got everything. February and early march were a pretty productive time for the Brotherhood. Spring fever or whatever.
We’re kind of in a period of high activity with the Multi-clan event but just in case you start to feel burnt out and need something non-Clan related to do, see some of our tailored suggestions below– Sponsored by Brilogna Soda, found at your nearest Shame Corner.
Bril Teg Arga is celebrating their first DBversary with us today! Make sure to reach out and give congrats to our BTL.
Karran Val’teo celebrated their 5th DBversary on Feb 24th! Thank you for your time and service, Karran.
