Notes from Blueberry
Hey yall, happy July! I didn’t get my report out in time to ask yall to be safe and to have a good 4th, but all the same I hope you guys had a good time and made some amazing memories. A couple things have changed since my last report, one of them being that our Aedile, Ood, stepped down in favor of taking a Proconsul position in Taldyra. While we were sad to see our elder tree go, he’s in new pastures now, expanding his branches and insert more bad tree puns here*.
That being said, as of this report, I am opening up Aedile applications. For those of you who are new to the club, Aedile is like my assistant. They help with the day to day small activities of the house– like helping me write reports if needed, being there for others if they need assistance or have questions while I’m out, and filling in for me when I’m not around. It’s pretty common for those who are Aediles to take over the spot of their Quaestor when that person steps down, so I would also be teaching you over time how to run the unit.
For us neurospicy folks, here’s a list:
- Assist with writing reports if necessary
- Learn how to track unit activity (and use activity tracker spreadsheet)
- Assist with supporting recommendations for awards
- Do weekly house chat check ins– think of them more like mini reports than anything that are released in the discord chat for Galeres
- Create at least one activity for the house every other month– whether that be some kind of game night, get-together, or small comp. I’m not looking for events here (although you are more than welcome if you have the drive), just a tiny fiction or puzzle every so often.
- Assisting with the Galeres Wiki cleanup drive
If you’re interested in the position, feel free to send me an email. What you’ll want to include in this email is introducing yourself, any IRL experience you might have, and a bit about your DB career and what experience you bring from the club (while it does help, it’s okay if you don’t have any DB leadership experience– I didn’t either when I took the position last year). Also make sure to include any plans you might have, or narrative directions you would like to take. While not necessary, I like to see where people’s inspiration is at. Applications close on July 24th.
Ongoing Events
Succor and Safety
Our House mini event is ongoing, now having reached the second phase out of three. The event, which is focused on helping the residents of Ussun get back to their normal, functioning lives, will continue on till early August. Be on the lookout for a joint fiction between me and Bril, which we hope to have released soon.
Results of the First Phase
Thanks to the helping hands from both Galeres, the AAF, and the Marshalls, many of the island’s villages have found a momentary pause in their grief and stress. Galereans deployed en-masse, their best and brightest working alongside civilian leadership and the AAF’s Corps of Quartermasters and Corps of Engineers to not only bring much needed supplies to even the most distant cities, but also to begin rebuilding what those people have lost. Due to your efforts, general store hubs and medical centers have been rebuilt along Ussun. The problem isn’t yet fixed, but we’re on our way.
Singularity
The ACC tourney hosted by our wonderful Voice is about mid-way through the preliminaries. Iddy released an announcement in the Fiction discord that placements are based on your grade total– meaning even if you only finish and win one match, you still have a chance at making it into the final bracket.
There is a thread in the Arcona private chat for those who require proofing or help. Never be afraid to reach out to any of the leadership of the Clan– we’re always there for you.
Recent Updates
- Fist staff added two new games to the supported games list, Starwars Hunters and Pokemon Unite! The latter being massively due to Bril and many of us Arconans showing our love and support of the game (and dragging Turel into the pit with yall).
- Voice staff released a couple of reports– one being about new honorifics and the other being about a brand new race being added, called Kyuzo.
- Anubis regretfully announced that he has to resign early from his position. Bubba/Dacien opened up applications to those who wish to apply to take over Noobi’s job.
- The Emissary announced her picks for her P:EM and M:EM, which ended up being me and Windos from Clan Odan Urr.
- Speaking of COU, in the wake of their CON resigning, they opened up applications for a new CON. If you think you have what it takes to herd a group of Jedi Cats, go ahead and apply.
Things to Do
Things are calming down just a bit due to anticipation of a potentially impending Probowl. While we have no current solid announcement regarding the Probowl time frames, we know it will be taking place in late August to Mid-September.
In the meantime have some fun things to do!
- A FIST sponsored Competition for Squadrons and a Diablo Game Night on discord, also sponsored by the FIST staff.
- Korvis… made a cereal box GFX comp? Asking us to pull from the cobweb covered recesses of our minds pictures of our childhood staring at cereal box art. He asks for you to make a DB-themed cereal brand!
- TuQ has another MicroFiction series up, this one centered around eliciting different emotions in less than 500 words.
- Gui’s competition regarding quick art prompts is finishing up soon, so make sure you submit your doodles while you have time.
- Bored while stuck at home? Play some flash games like it’s the early 2000’s.
- Yuki’s got an interesting series of comps that ask you “How would your character resist temptation.. Or succumb to it?”. See more here.
Promotions and Misc
Ta’xi celebrated their first DBversary with us on the 19th of last month! Thank you Ta’xi for continuing to stay with us and provide us with quality rideshare services. :P
Luka Zarkot celebrated their 7th DBversary on the 1st! 7 whole years is a heck of a commitment and we’re glad you’re still here.

It looks like Atty holds onto Glory for another month (for real this time). We had a couple of movements across the board, but most of the normal people have found themselves in the top ten. Luka made a sudden jump all the way up to second, just outpacing Bril.
