A quick report covering my LOA starting tomorrow, some more info on the PVE / PVP Gaming Medal Project mentioned by Pravus, a Star Wars Commander Competition, and a Star Wars Galactic Defense Competition. Shiny Crescents for several gamers included.
As I mentioned in my last report I will be on LOA starting tomorrow through the 24th of May. I'll be traveling outside the US to see awesome stuff with my wife so while I'm going to have an old iPhone with DJB email to use when near wifi my primary focus will be having a blast with her. If you have any pressing Fist Staff issues please direct your questions to my Praetor, Ernordeth.
Later today Star Wars Commander is going to be starting a Starship Tournament. Darkblade has already requested to run a competition for it in the standard format that's been used in the past. Expect to see this competition live soon.
A few days ago Star Wars Galactic Defense began the Bane of the Crime Lord event. This event is not the arena based one we've seen the last few times. The Event Champion (Dark Side) is Jabba, who has a special which calls in two Bounty Hunters to help him fight for a bit. The special Durasteel Recruitment Pod Champion (Light Side) is Slave Leia, her special move is to swing her chain around damaging enemies nearby. According to the game it has a small area of effect, but a fast cooldown.
Competition for this Event is available now.
This was briefly touched on in Pravus' report last night. I'd like to put out some general information here for the Club as a whole to see, before it gets brought back to the Dark Council and Consuls for fine tuning prior to execution.
Let's start by laying out what medal is related to what activity:
The first thing some people may ask is, how big of a difference do we see between PVP and PVE CFs being awarded? What about these PVP CFs that are for Warzones and not for dueling other members of the Club? Here's the statistics on how many CFs were awarded for each type of activity from January of 2014 through March 2015:
What you should expect to see as this project rolls out (I'm leaving target dates off this until after the DC/Consul discussion):
This isn't meant to answer every question, but to give a high level overview of the path forward right now. All of it is subject to change as the rest of the Dark Council and Consuls are brought into the discussion to finalize things (FYI - email coming in a few hours for those of you on that list). Keep an eye on my reports for progress updates and changes.
Don't these things ever end? Here's Crescents for gamers:

I meant to include this in the PVE PVE Gaming Rewards section but it slipped my mind:
I want to acknowledge that alot of people have proposed this change in the past. I had pushed for it as a Magistrate on the Fist Staff and had plenty of individuals come with ideas and requesting it since I had become Fist. I've even talked with people who told me they had sent proposals for this through many years ago. This project is a long time coming, and many people have worked on it in that time. The layout I've come up with is a combination of all that feedback, not a super awesome good idea I came up completely on my own. So thank you to anyone and everyone who has advocated for this in the past.
It also might not be the worst idea in the world for everyone to check over their dossiers for things that get missed by the database sweeps
Yup, after the initial review that would definitely be appreciated to catch anything which was missed.
My only question is how will this affect the gaming degrees?
Furios: That's still to be determined and is part of what's being discussed with the DC/Consuls right now.
Will the Cluster of "Something-New" count towards GMRG leveling or will that be solely CF's still?
They will factor into GMRG. We have ideas on how, but are discussing to determine the best course of action right now in the DC / Consul emails.
Sad. I can't play the new Galactic Defense competition because the stupid game crashes on the load screen. Gonna have to wait until they patch the patch that was meant to fix the crashing issues...
