Hello all,

I wanted to get a report out this week to touch on some things I'm doing project-wise, some decisions I've made and reflect on a month of being Grand Master. It's been quite a month indeed.

Hopefully, in reading the report below you get a good understanding of what's been going on. Feel free to ask any questions you have though.

Social Media Tribune

I have decided to close down the Social Media Tribune role. I find the work the role did valuable. I am finding a different path forward in the coming days. It's been said before, but it's something where the person makes the role. Feel free to come to me with any proposals you have. Key in all this I think is raising awareness of the DJB.

Vendetta

We've made decisions on a schedule with the next Vendetta, as a Rite of Supremacy in early summerish. The Consuls are all aware of and on the same page with this. I have the Voice and DGM working on the specifics but I'm keeping an eye on the progress. We had one fiction update to shape the story and may see others as we get closer.

Regent

With Atra as Justicar, it leaves open the role of Regent. I've seen several applications. As I did with DGM, I strongly encourage anyone who is interested to apply. It really is a role that is what you make of it. There are guides and resources to document everything and how it got where it is today. As well as a roadmap to take off from with your own ideas on creating a unique member experience. Applications aren't open much longer but if you're interested please apply. I'll be making a decision with Atra and Bubba after the deadline.

Experience

The experience project I've had a little time to get into it. The part where ranks get decided by experience is quite a bit underway. Atra is leading that and the balancing is the next big part. It's just a matter of really getting in and doing the work and the right people are on it it's just been some real-life delays that are entirely understandable. I don't want the Vendetta schedule to slip for this one given our current rank system works fine. But aside from keeping that going I want to finish what Mav started on this one and get something done.

Part of the experience project involves aligning rewards with each step or rank. I talked to Slagar and he is going to take on this part of the project and work with those involved to make a final recommendation.

My own involvement in this is relatively new but I want to start driving some decisions so expect so see more as we go forward.

Trial of Identity

I'm not sure what is known about this project, it's another one that's quite a ways underway. Today I sent an email out to appropriate DC members and got the ball rolling Ciara agreed to take point on this since she's helping align the text to the Shadow Academy for new joins. Basically, new joins to the DJB all go through the Shadow Academy. The change in the Trial of Identity are a mix of improvements to what's there, and then adding in a survey new members can take to pick Light or Dark path. I talked to James and the next steps are to build out the new proposed Trial of Identity.

End Game

I have asked Muz to take point on end game content. I believe I've mentioned this a few other places but I kicked off a discussion about what I'd like to see here. This is more of a maybe 2022 goal of mine but no reason not to talk about it now. This will include things like members able to obtain corvettes, stations, and other larger items not currently obtainable. I will work with the next Regent on part of this with epic items.

Artifacts

I started an artifact policy a while ago as Regent. I've asked Idris/Xen to take this on and help me get something officially launched. Consuls who worked with me probably remember approving the initial list. But I have made it my own personal project so we'll see where it goes.

Promotheus

I intend to start a project to replace Promotheus, or maybe not replace but improve. I want to move to someting more linear and quest based. With a specific storyline. I have discussed this with Ciara as part of the Shadow Academy and intent to see new members properly educated to "graduation" at DJK. I hope to continue to work closely with Ciara to help get this done. I have some very specific ideas but eventually I imagine we will need to find people to help craft the 5 order storylines. While also driving the specific quests and structure.

Emails

I have drug my feet on this for a while as I got things sorted as GM but I want to get this going. I intend to reach back to applications I had as DGM for my staff and reach out to people and find someone who can get this done. I find this project to be incredibly important for the DJB. Hugely impactful. I need someone who can be depended on to get this done, and do quality work independently. As a first step all we really need to do is restructure what we currently have into a new more modern and flexible format.

Conclusion

I have other ideas and I've seen many different proposals I didn't mention here. I wanted to highlight what I find to be the most important among those that have my immediate attention. Not listed but even more important is supporting the Consuls. So I hope to keep progress on projects as much as I can, while prioritizing a successful Vendetta. Then the rest of this year finishing up as much as possible. There are some well formed projects that just need doers on them.

I hope this helps everyone see where my head is at and I appreciate all the great ideas and support I've seen from people out there. I hope to touch base in another month with some progress on all fronts.
