Greetings everyone and welcome to my #33 report as your Grand Master. The Dark Council and Unit Leaders have just confirmed my nomination as Grand Master following a Covenant required forty-eight hour discussion period. I provided the voters a letter detailing my immediate priorities as Grand Master and would like to share it with our entire club: A Letter to the Voters. This letter provides those areas that I believe require immediate attention within in our club, and there is no better time to start those changes than right now.

Administrative Changes

1) I have decided to re-clan all of the Independent Houses within the Dark Brotherhood. Effective immediately or when James wakes up, all Independent Houses will be transformed into House-less Clans. This decision was based on a detailed analysis of random joins (non-recruited members) across all seven units in the last year. Statistically speaking, there was no discernible difference in random join outcome among the units when it came to keeping random joins on the roster or in terms of random joins achieving milestone ranks. Based on our analysis, each unit is equally effective at leading random joins into careers as productive members.

This decision will result in all Clans receiving the exact same number of random joins, except for Odan Urr's exclusive receipt of the light side membership.

The new coding also means means that any transfers from outside the clan, as well as newly joined members, will be transferred to the clan level. As it is up to the Clans themselves to determine their internal structure, moving members into houses and/or battle teams will also be the responsibility of the clan summit (and primarily, the responsibility of the clan rollmaster). Similarly, the clan summit (rollmaster primarily) will also be the first points of contact for any new member assigned to their clan.

2) The Position of Forum Tribune has been abolished. The administrative and technical duties of the Forum Tribune will be transferred to the SCL. The promotion and encouragement of forum usage will fall to the Clans and those Dark Councilors who have need of our forums.

Appointments

1) Dark Prophet Telaris "Mav" Taldrya Cantor has been appointed as the Deputy Grand Master of the Dark Brotherhood. Mav was the automatic choice for this position. His work on the ACC, Character Sheets, and the past two years of Vendettas have been invaluable.

2) Dark Jedi Master Aidan Kincaid has been appointed as the Voice of the Brotherhood. Shadow has been a fictional giant within our club and his elevation to Voice is a natural progression of the work he has already performed for the DJB.

3) Grand Master Jac Cotelin has been nominated as the next Justicar of the Dark Brotherhood. Jac's nomination has been sent to the Dark Council and will remain in a forty-eight hour discussion window before a confirmation vote.

4) Atty has been selected as the next Consul of Arcona. Atty is one of our finest in a generation of new members. Her selection to lead the juggernaut known as Arcona is well deserved. Congrats Atty!

Position Openings

1) The Tarentum Consul position is open for applications. Applications should be sent to myself and Mav. Your application should include your plans to revitalize Clan Tarentum, a focus on how you plan to retain Tarentum as an existing Clan, and any other information you feel is relevant to the improvement of Tarentum. We will make a decision on the next Consul within 7 days, with the option to make a selection sooner.

2) The Odan Urr Consul position is open for applications. Applications should be sent to myself and Mav. Your application should include your plans to capitalize on your near 200% receipt of new members, a contingency plan in the event we open light side membership to other Clans, and any other data you feel is relevant to the improvement of Odan Urr. We will make a decision on the next Consul within 7 days, with the option to make a selection sooner.

Congratulations

1) Grand Master Ashen has been awarded the Golden Lightsaber. Muz joins Jac as the only two time holder of this award. Six years as a Grand Master is something that we should be in awe of and thankful for. Thanks Muz.

2) Dark Jedi Master Keirdagh Taldrya Cantor has been promoted to the rank of Dark Prophet. This should have happened eight years ago, but instead it happens today. Yacks has shown the dedication and desire to improve our club for longer than some of our members are alive.

3) Kell Palpatine Dante has been promoted to the Rank of Dark Adept. His promotion request details his impact on our club, but I'll go further and say that this is a member who touches every avenue of our club and has enhanced it in ways that we should all be grateful for. Congrats Dante!

Farewells

1) Justicar Taigikori Aybara has stepped down from his position tonight. Taig's resignation does not leave us time to thank him properly, but he does deserve our kind words. It is hard being the Justicar and it is hard dealing with the most sensitive issues within our club. We all owe Taig a debt of gratitude.

2) Dark Adept Marick Arconae has resigned from his position as Consul of Clan Arcona. I think we all know what a beast Arcona is and a large part of that success is due to Wally. Witty, talented, and dedicated to our club, Wally brings a host of attributes that are impossible to replicate. We are lucky to have a unit like Arcona beast-moding activity and lucky to have someone like Wally lead them.

3) I'd also like to thank Liam and Scion for their work leading their respective units. Being in charge of our units is a difficult task and their work over the past year has been a labor of love and dedication. We should all respect that.

Open Projects

1) The announcement of our Houses transitioning to Clans brings with it a decision to change the way we look at Orders and Paths within the Dark Brotherhood. Over the course of the next few weeks we will be rolling out our plans to allow Houses the ability to declare alignments (light, neutral, and Dark). These alignments will further divide the existing join pool to a Clan's tailored desires.

With this change will come the long worked on "Enlisted" or "Soldier" option for members. That is right, you can be a muggle if you want to be a muggle.

2) Dark Covenant Updates are planned following the confirmation of Jac as Justicar. These updates are going to be focused on defining the Star Chamber. We have kept it secret for a long time and that is nonsense. What is the Star Chamber? Basically the retired Grand Masters who pay for everything. But, the Star Chamber also has incredible powers within the Covenant, to include a very vague passage on vetoing the selection of a Grand Master.

All proposed changes will be handled in line with the existing Dark Covenant rules.

Conclusion

I am extremely appreciative of the Dark Council's trust in appointing me as Grand Master. I truly believe that my role as the Grand Master is to ensure that I am responsive to our members desires, to direct the Dark Council in the development of activities that our members find enjoyable, and to hold our leaders accountable. Those beliefs are not lip service and I think that is evident by the content of this report.

The DB is a place for Star Wars fans to have fun, be active, and enjoy the fellowship of being with like minded members. I think as long as we focus on that, we will be in a great place moving forward.
